Sea Gull Inn - Virginia Beach

This hotel hasn't seen any updates in a long time, there aren't many amenities, and the parking situation is a pain, but if you're looking for a cheap place to stay right on the beach, it's not too bad.

If you want to go to sleep early and get a good night sleep this is not the hotel for you.

The place is small but, comfy, right on the beach and, the price is very good. close to most v.a. beach attractions and the boardwalk is right outside the pool & parking lot. anyone staying here will have a great time

This was a very cheap Motel. It's dirty and old. There is very little parking at the Motel, so you may need to park in their overflo lot 2 blocks away.

My overall vacation was comfortable. The Hotel is in a great loation. The weather was a little cool, but my kids were able to swim in the heated inn-door pool. But the cafe was to exspesnive for the food to be not that good.

The worst part of this hotel is the parking arrangement. There's room for maybe 20 vehicles. You have no idea there's no parking spots available until you pull in off the street. Then your corralled in there while waiting for others to do 50 point turns to get out. Only one way in and out. The satellite parking lot is 2 blocks away, across a 4 lane […] road and behind an old empty motel. The location of the hotel is pretty decent, you walk out your door and your almost on the beach. All in all, its a typical 70's style seaside heights hotel. The hotel was close to everything. Which was great. But the parkinglot was way to small. Most of the people had to park 2 blocks away and cross a 4 line highway. Which was hard with children. Pool was very dirty. Sand was covering the bottom of the pool. We stayed 2 days and it was never cleaned. Even the hot tub had sand in it. Pool hours were great […] 8am till midnight. This older inn is located right on the beach. Most of the rooms have outdoor access doors. We had an inside room, #316. The king bed was very firm, but comfortable. The bathroom is tiny, but very clean. There was a small kitchenette with fridge, sink, and microwave. And we had a gorgeous view of the ocean out our window!

I ask for non-smoking but the whole room smelled of cigarettes.

excellent location for the Sharock Marathon finish. Customer service was terrible. My room was kept up very nicley. Beds where not comfortable. Front desk was not helpful in any way. I feel he had a bad aditude and and did not follow up when he was asked for help. Seem like he was inconvienced. Not sure if would want to stay again.

The Sea Gull Inn is not fancy, but it is clean and met our basic needs. Perks: fridge and microwave in the room, and free WiFi. The location was perfect for us as we were running the Shamrock Marathon. Overall the hotel was ok, the parking on the other hand was horrible there was 20 parking spots 3 which were handicap and we have a disabled person. We got to the hotel to check in there was no parking so they told us we had to park in there other lot. Well the other lot is in a dark alley where your car can get broken into ect. Wi-fi didn't work in the room, nor did the bathroom fan. Both highly inconvenient! Guy at the front desk was rude. You can see the beach from the hotel which is nice, and it's a clean room in a convenient location. If that's all you require, have at it!

I reserved this hotel for me and my partner for a one day get away. I got what I paid for in va beach off the board walk. The hot tub which was promised was nice and the room was standard. Very reasonable hotel. Rooms a bit on teh dark side, and fittings showing signs of wear, but for the price, a very acceptable stay in an excellent location on the beach, with pleasant and helpful service.

The location of hotel was good as right on the beach and got a car park space at front of hotel. Hotel is o.k. if just looking for a place to stayover night as you wouldn't want to spend anymore time in this hotel. The hotel is right along the board walk which is nice, but there is not enough parking in the main lot, and the wireless internet is awful. I was there for a conference and so using the internet was important, however you are there for fun it is comfortable and clean.

It is what it is, an old building that smelled like an old building. The reception staff were OK. The girl more friendly than the guy was. The room was OK and regularly cleaned but shared that old building damp smell. No extractor fan in bathroom, got a bit steamy when you showered. Although the hotel is located on the beach, which is great, and the staff was wonderful, I would not stay there again. The room was clean, except maybe for a few flies, but the decor needs updating. The price was a little high for the quality of the installations.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Sea Gull Inn August 2011. We were right in the middle of all of the action . We could see the Atlantic Ocean from our room and balcony. I plan to go back next summer. I cannot speak enough about how great our family vacation was. Plenty of shopping and fun filled activity. While this is an older motel and is somewhat rundown, it was a great value for an oceanfront motel. The rooms were very clean -- much cleaner than nicer and pricier hotels we have stayed at before. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Parking is a problem, but we managed. This was a nice beach Hotel. The staff was nice and friendly. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. The Hotel was on the beach and we had a nice view. The sun deck was also very nice. My kids and I will stay there again

this hotel is as advertised. a clean comfortable room in a good location. Nothing fancy. motel style with room doors outside. Breakfast was good at the attached restaurant.

The hotel, as are most in the area, is right along the boardwalk. VERY easy access into the beach area. Easy to locate when first arriving. Check-in and check-out was quick. Staff was friendly. A major negative of the hotel is their restaurant though, Little Feets Cafe. Do NOT eat there. The food is AWFUL and over-priced for the poor quality. The sandwiches […] were soggy. Stay was okay, but cost was not in line with room and accomadations. B/R was large enough but toilet, shower, and sink not seperated so essentially only one person could use at a time. Not adequate parking on site, had to leave vehicle at a remote site with no security, I never felt comfotable the whole time with car in remote lot along street. Worst bed I have every sleep on. I was in the Navy for 20 years

I stayed at the Sea Gull Inn for about a week. I woul dhave to say that I would recommend this motel to anyone that is staying at Virginia Beach. The motel was old however, and there were ants in our room. Everything was close by, and it is located in a good area where it's not too loud or too quiet. Staying with three children however, the space was […] a bit small, but overall it was a good motel. On the other hand, the internet was very slow and on the first day I had trouble connecting to it. Right on the boardwalk. Convenient to restaurants and shops. We did not need to get in the car.

This room was disappointing for the amount of money that we paid. The first impression was the odor of the room. The carpet was sticky, perhaps from repeated cleaning (sand from the beach). We used febreeze and this seemed to help the odor. The kitchen consisted of a poorly operating microwave, stovetop (we didn't use) and a refrigerator, plus sink. […] All very dated. The hotel was very clean. Friendly staff and a great view of the ocean from most or all rooms.

The hotel was cheap and had an indoor pool and i was short for time and on a budget. This being the only avaliable at this price, i took it in hopes previous reviews followed through. We arrived at 2pm, and check in was at 3pm. We had to wait of course but thats fine considering we were quite early. So we went to the beach for an hour, then came back […] to find the room still hadnt been cleaned. By 4pm we were ready to unload our things. But the costumer service was awful. Not only were the two men behind the counter laughing at a phone call they had recieved about a man needing help on the location, they were rude. We then got to our room and the bathroom floor was soaked with water and the tub was dirty with sand. I let this go however knowing the room was infact cheap and convenient. Later in the night we came back to get some rest and the bed squeeked quite bad. My Boyfriend and i woke the next morning with itchy skin and a few bumps, i assume bed bugs. Also, while showering.. the cleaning lady let herself in "they told me u checked out". I am quite unhappy with my experience but its partly my fault for waiting last minute to get a hotel right on the beach. So i take the blame... I do not recommend this Hotel. This is an older hotel that has been maintained and updated very comfortably. It's not glitzy, but is clean, pleasant, huge bathroom (great with little kids in wet sandy suits), great location right on the beach. There is a Dairy Queen next door, bike rental on site, and a good restaurant on site with outside dining facing the ocean. The restaurant […] has a $4.95 breakfast special which is a real bargain for a resort area and great when you have a big family. It's located at 26th Street which is just a little north of mid-boardwalk, so easy walk to either end of boardwalk. Most of the room are side-view of the ocean, but there are chairs right outside of each room and a wide walkway on each floor to sit outside and people-watch. This is the second time we have used this hotel, and plan to use it each time we go to the beach, which is every summer. This is not a "Ocean View" hotel, although they did have 6 rooms for the "Oceanview". if you get there late, you dont even get a balcony, hotels.com says that its oceanview...NOT..however everything else was fine, the location to the beach, hotel parking is something to be desired, but whata ya gonna do?

The hotel Sea Gull in Va beach was dirty, the ceiling in the pool was peeling, the pool was freezing!. i asked for towels and they didnt want to give me any, you have to walk accross two block to your car. The elevator fits two people. Had no help with loggage.The wii Fi connection was protected by a password that the desk didnt want to give me. 1. We ordered non- smoking however it reeked of smoke. 2. Sign in elevator "Sea Gull Inn Does not recommend the Sea King resturant" was both inappropriate and inaccurate as it had excelent food and did not have smelll of chrolrine that Sea Gull Inns resturant had.
