"Amazing experience!!!"
I had the most wonderful experience at Fanari Villas. The hotel grounds are beautiful, most amazing sunset views, and great location in Oia. I got engaged on our balcony at sunset.. and the hotel had helped my fiance organize every detail - from flowers, decorations, lanterns, to a 5 course meal served by a waitor on our terrace. "Fanari Villas Santorini"
Fanari Villas are in a excellent location to explore Oia, with close walking distance to an array of shops and restaurants. It is situated on the west side where you can enjoy the most fantastic sunset views. Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean but in places required maintenance. Breakfast consisted of hot and cold foods but nothing out of […] the ordinary and reservation was required for dinner. "good location,good hotel"
We recently stayed at Fanari after reading other positive reviews online (tripadvisor). We were pleased to find that the hotel was in a great location in Oia, a town on Santorini well worth spending some days at. We could watch the sunset from our Junior Suite. The room was cozy and clean. There was a few maintenance issues, like the door to the bathroom […] didn't close properly, but it gave the room more character, rather than it being a hindrance. We were often the only people in the pool, which was lovely to swim in, and necessary in the warm Santorini afternoons. There was only a short walk over to the main strip of Oia, to the castle and down the stairs to the small dock. The only issues we found were the breakfasts weren't too brilliant, but this seemed to be a standard thing in Santorini. The hotel offered a selection of hot and cold foods, basic and edible, but nothing spectacular. The owners were pleasant and welcoming. "Cannot wait to go back!"
Words cannot describe how wonderful this hotel is!!! We spent two nights here and two nights in Fira....big mistake! Had we known how great Oia and Fanari were, we would have spent all four nights there. The staff are superb! They helped us with anything and everything...they even made our dinner reservations for us! My husband and I couldn't stop smiling […] the whole time we were there. The hotel location could not be any better. It is located inside Oia but on the West side of the "downtown".....which means you can watch the amazing sunset views from your own porch! The hotel was very well kept and all the linens and towels were good quality. They even provide you with towels to take to the beach! I could go on and on about how wonderful this place was. I truly don't think our Santorini experience would have been as great as it is if we hadn't stayed here! One last thing.....If you're at all hesitant about the cost, just do it! After staying in hotels all over Greece, Fanari is my favorite. The staff was gracious and accommodating, the hotel views are outstanding, and the rooms are everything you would expect from the pictures online. "fabulous staff, great food"
Staying in Fanari Villas was great. Although our two rooms, expecially the bathrooms with poor quality towels, were severely dated, a rather drab restaurant interior and a sauna area that was functional, at best, all this was more than made up for by truly exceptional staff and fabulous owner. Nicholas is a treasure and gold mine of local information. […] Our every wish was surpassed. Dinners in the restaurant were superb, as were the breakfasts on the lovely outdoor terrace. No discos, no noise, fabulous views. In retrospect, 4 days on Santorini was too long - there is nothing much to do or see except the initial view and some lovely coastal walks (Acrotiri site still closed, vulcanic, pebbly beaches, island quite dilapidated other than few showpiece white cliff villages). Nice to have been and seen it though and great to have met such lovely people. Shop and restaurant owners in Oia were so very friendly. no pushy touts anywhere.
