Cocoon @ International Inn - Hostel - Liverpool

The hostel/hotel was located in a good location to most attractions and was very inexpensive. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was very unclean. The bathroom shower had defiantly not been cleaned as there were still hairs from the previous guests. The walls were disgusting and I was unhappy with how dirty the overall room was!

I stayed at the Cocoon for two nights in a room with a Queen-size bed. The bed takes up most of the room, and it was only just possible to open the main door on one side and the bathroom door on the other without hitting the bed in the process. The rooms are all underground, so there are no windows, but that didn't bother me. The bathroom was fairly […] decent - albeit that there were hairs from previous guests on the floor - and the shower was excellent. As an early riser, I wanted to have breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday morning at around 8am, but the internet cafe adjoining the hostel didn't open until 9am so I ended up wandering around on the first morning until I found a 24hr cafe near Lime Street station. Downsides were that the room didn't receive any cleaning/bed-making service between the first and second nights - and so the measly two tea-bags provided weren't replaced either; and there was no soap in the bathroom. Apartment was cold and uncomfortable. Hard sofa's, hard uncomfortable bed, fridge didn't work properly, couldn't switch fan heater in bathroom off, doors kepts slamming. Apartment block was very noisy, full of stag and hen do's. Doors slamming all night and clomping shoes.

Stayed here twice now, first time in the hostel itself and second time in one of the fabulous apartments. well to be honest they are a world apart. the hostel is beyond basic but the apartments just around the corner wer spacious and smart, we were well impressed after staying in the hostel bit peviously. so if you do stay here try and get an apartment, […] a bit more expensive but really cool. In the centre of Liverpool this was so handy. The staff are lovely and the rooms are clean with great bathrooms. This is more like a small hostel than hotel with no bar and even no where to get bottles of water or snacks that I could find so just make sure to have all this with you. Rooms are underground so they are a bit stifling and obviously no windows. […] But they are spacious, clean, comfy. I was happy to stay 2 days but would not recommend much longer than that. Good value for money with the apartment. Lounge & kitchen excellent apart from arm chairs very uncomfortable...needs a sofa. Bed room & bathroom little bit shabby and windows need fixing / locking. Staff very helpful & friendly though, and overall good stay.

The room was a basement room, with no windows, a nice size and excellent bathroom. I think that customers need to be advised that all the rooms are underground, but on the plus side very good position, good Pubs and Restaurants close by, If only I had a window I would gladly return.

I was not aware that the hotel rooms were in the basement. There were no windows and because they are in the basement, no phone reception either. I was travelling alone and felt cut off as soon as I was in the room. I had to change rooms because the first room I was given smelt of damp and it was very overpowering. we have stayed at cocoon before & return because it is reasonable price, clean, great location. not stuck in middle of noise but within 10mins walkin distance of concert sq & matthew st. plenty places to eat & drink in ajoining street.

Staff were friendly.Room was good.,except no windows in basement.We could hear the person in the next room taking a shower.Walls are thin.Could hear the water from the shower coming from next room.Otherwise, ok to sleep.

Very good value for a short stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. I will stay again and would recommend it to others. Convenient to all that is important in Liverpoool.

At check-in, I was surprised they didn't ask for any ID and check-in time was quite late especially when check-out was early! But i appreciate very hotel is different. Rooms where what I expected, very clean and good sized bathroom. It was quite odd the rooms didn't have windows but it is in the basement! Good locatation for the centre of Liverpool […] as only a 5 min walk in and out of town, very good for a night out. This hotel was convenient and reasonably priced. The only problems were the lack of parking and the high cost and the lack of a window. We knew this would be an underground room but it is odd not to have any daylight. Other residents were also noisy coming back to their rooms after midnight but this can happen anywhere. Cocoon is an underground hotel beneath the International Inn hostel so the room had no windows - a new experience for me! A good idea the owners have had is to install a camera outside the hotel and this can be accessed from your in room TV so you can check the weather before you go out! The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The room […] had a LCD TV with freeview and an IPOD dock alarm clock. The en-suite was very modern and clean and had one of the best showers I have come across - very powerful. Cocoon iis located just around the corner from Hope Street and within walking distance of both Cathedrals. stayed for work, was a budget rate but a really good clean room, friendly staff, would stay there again.

The hotel rooms are in a quirky basement with no windows. Thus, no street noise, though you hear the occasional door-slamming and, unfortunately, the showers from other rooms. However, it's clean and comfortable. This is a good value hotel, I'll happily stay there again.

We stayed overnight on the way back from the airport. Arrived late and porter friendly. Thought at first it was a hostel but realised it's split into 2 sections. Room was downstairs and had a good sized shower room- very clean and plenty of lights. Bedroom was very hip and I liked it. Tea/coffee facilites, good sized t.v on wall and even an alarm clock […] you can put your ipod into. No windows obviously, but generally I liked it for a night. Only negatives were no towels at all in the room (not sure if this was intentional or not) so coming back from a hol with no towels meant no shower. Also, the blue emergency light above the door which faced our bed was really bright so we spent half hour trying to cover it up a bit so it felt like night time! Je suis allee dans cet hôtel il y a 4 et 2 ans et j en avais été pleinement satisfaite. À mon dernier séjour cette annee, l hôtel s est considérablement dégrade. En rentrant dans la chambre, les murs etaients pleins de tâches marrons et noires. Les toilettes étaient sales et la draps aussi. Nous avons alors demande à changer de chambre pensant que la […] femme de ménage avait oublié d y passer, mais la deuxième chambre était dans le même état. Stedet var fint, receptionsfolkene var professionelle og venlige, og snaksagelige. Det eneste minus var den manglende mobilsignal på værelset. Området det ligger i er ganske udemærket, og folkene er flinke.

Wij dachten een geluiddichte kamer in het Cocoonhotel te hebben geboekt. Kregen echter een zgn. appartement met de slecht onderhouden ingang in een achtergelegen steeg. Geen schoonmaak van de kamer, de handdoeken die er waren, lagen er voor een week. Lelijke badkamer zonder zeep ect, kleine, electrische douche. De eerste nacht, donderdag, was er in […] de pal naast gelegen pub, een wekelijks buiten-happyhour tot diep in de nacht, wij lagen te schudden in ons bed! Veel overlast gehad van de andere gasten. Zeer luidruchtige, dronken mensen. Cocoon is geen hotel, maar een jeugdherberg. Toen wij bij het uitchecken onze koffers een paar uur kwiijt wilden moesten we daar 2 pond voor betalen, Ongehoord! As mentioned in the description, the Cocoon rooms are tiny & windowless... so you can imagine that fresh air & brightness are not brilliant. We were disappointed by the room service because our towels hadn't been changed - and weren't dry since it's quite damp indoor. The receptionist gave us clean towels on our way back from town though. Other than […] that, the hotel was fine: quiet, really central (10 min walk to Bold Street, 15 min walk to Lime Station & 20 min walk to the 1 bus station/docks) & pretty clean (bathroom was actually neat & big enough compared to the bedroom). Lo único negativo..es que no te limpiaban la habitación ni un sólo día,así que es un hotel para estancias cortas.

Vi bestillte leiligheten, og de var helt OK. Verken mer eller mindre. Positivt med stor leilighet, god plass. Eget soverom og eget oppholdsrom. Bad separert. Rent og pent. Kunne nok byttet ut håndkler hver andre dag. Ble ikke gjort... Alt i alt veldig positiv.

Nos ha sorprendido muy gratamente, servicio 100% trato del personal muy bueno, habitación muy acogedora, muebles nuevos, y estancias igualmente acogedoras, muy económico y en el centro de la ciudad. La ducha muy bien también y la cama suuuuuuper cómoda. Un 10 vaya... Saludoss...

Hotellet kunne ha vært ok hadde det ikke luktet så forferdelig på gang og bad. Rommene hadde tydelig et kloakk og ventilasjonsproblem da det ligger under bakken. Lyd var også et problem mellom gang og rom. og mellom etg skiller. Våknet stadig opp av forbipaserende i gang og en førdømt bikkje fra rommet over som ikke kunne holde seg i ro om natten

At bo 4 m. under jorden uden et vindue, er ikke særlig rart. Rengøring var ikke eksisterende. Værelset svarede ikke til det billede der er på nettet.

Sehr gute, zentrale Lage in der Innenstadt. Als Ausgangspunkt für Touren durch Liverpool ideal. Wenn man bedenkt, dass man eigentlich rund um die Uhr in der Stadt unterwegs ist, so spricht der im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels doch recht günstige Preis für das Hostel. Kleines Bistro direkt am Hostel ermöglicht auch ein günstiges Frühstück bzw. Abendessen. Leider […] hatten die kleinen Zimmer (im Keller gelegen) keine Fenster. Lüften war daher unmöglich. Bei der Ankunft war der Badezimmermülleimer nicht geleert, außerdem stand der Regalboden voller Staub. Generell fehlt ein Schrank im Zimmer. Men pga det er i en kjeller så ble det veldig tung luft etterhvert, da lufteanlegget ikke ser ut til å være så bra.Det var tv på rommet,men fikk ingen kanaler bare radio på tv'en.De hadde sikkert fikset det hvis jeg hadde spurt,men jeg var der for å stort sett sove så jeg brydde meg ikke.Men hotellet var som forventet,kun et overnat […] tingshotell. Cocoon is een relatief goedkoop Hotel in of dicht bij het centrum van liverpool Personeel vonden wij zeer onbeleef en niet klant gericht de kamer in de kelder waren benauwd door dat er geen frisse lucht was( geen raam of daglicht) verder was het een nette inrichting

Nice place. A little problem with bad air in the room because there is no windows. But it's close to citty center, and only 20 min. with bus to the airport.

Es un hotel en el centro de la movida, con muchas zonas para comer barato y de copas. Pero ya está... La habitación que me dieron era ciega (sin ventana ninguna) A mí no me molestó mucho pues sólo la quería para dormir, pero entiendo que a alguien le pueda dar claustrofobia. Además era muy pequeña. y sin ventilación adecuada. No tenía aire acondicionado […] y se oía cualquier ruido en el pasillo. Si eres joven y te acuestas con cuatro copas te dá igual, supongo. Hotellets fasade er ikke til å skryte av, men rommene var moderne, rene og pene. Man bor billig, sentralt og bra. Må ikke forvirres med student-hostellet som ligger vegg i vegg.
