Macdonald Four Seasons Hotel - Aviemore

I arrived with my Wife on our honeymoon with the intention of just using the hotel as a base to explore the Cairngorm mountains and scotland in General, so we weren't too worried about the hotel in general, but i have to say, that from the moment we arrived until we checked out this was one of the very best hotel experiences we've had-i cannot praise […] the staff or hotel enough--great service from the staff, fantastic room with amazing views, superb location which meant we were close to everything we wanted, food was great (we ate once in restaurant for dinner/every day had breakfast!) and frankly my wife and i are planning on making this trip every two years from now on a regular thing to the same hotel. I read some of the other reviews and cannot believe what some people would complain about, but let me put it this way--before we came here from malta, we stayed in a 5 star deluxe hotel on our island--really top class, and i kid you not when i say i actually preferred the Mcdonald four seasons (a 3 star)--cannot wait to go back, and if any of the staff read these reviews, a massive thank you for making our Honeymoon as special as it was from your side!! I recommend to anyone to stay here, ignore people who would complain that the hotel was on the wrong inter-planetary alignment with Venus, and enjoy everything this Hotel has to offer!! We were on a romantic break, but its also clear whole resort is very much also geared up for families with kids, with a cinema, playground, shops and swiming pool--but they section it out so well if kids are not your thing, you'll not even notice they are there--overall to date, the best hotel experience i've had!! 10/10!!! For a four star hotel we felt the standard was average and less than Travel Lodge The resort itself although large felt very empty with not many people going around especally when the town was really busy All in all for the price not impressed

Well situated hotel, with good views over the hills from rooms, good hearty breakfast and good service

On arriving we were not sure what to expect bas there was a huge stain on the carpet , probably water damage. We Checked in and was told we had been given the executive suite. Due to the fact that there was a conference and the rest of the hotel was fully booked. We were told the bar nor the restaurant was open, so we could have our breakfast at the […] highland hotel. The guy on reception offered to get us transport for breakfast, but we declined the offer. The room was beautiful and had tilevision in the bathroom which we have never seen before. very convenient to all

This was 3rd room before we were satisfied with cleanliness rooms on lower floors were in need of refurbishment and not as clean or nice as on a previous visit we made a few years ago. We took B&B and were not informed that on the first morning we had to go to a different hotel for breakfast until we went down stairs and then had to go back to the 6th […] floor to get coats as it was raining. Angela is disabled,and when we arrived,we found that the bathroom was partially adapted for her, but there were no aids to enable her to have a shower... However, one call to reception, and the next day ALL the equipment we needed was installed ready for use. This quality of service continued throughout our stay.. Wonderful hotel!!
