"Good value friendly hotel in an excellent location"
We found the Hotel Maikol to be an excellent place to stay. The owner was extremely helpful and did all she could to help us. The hotel is a little hard to find. Get to the MAS store, then near the street traders stalls, you need to look for one of the large brown double doors that look like they lead to personal apartments, there is a small Hotel Maikol […] plaque on the wall. You need to press the button and talk to the reception for the hotel and then inside on the right, there is another door and elevator to the second floor. In general, the location is extremely convenient (short walk from Termini and right next to Metro station) and the price was very good for this. The bathrooms were very small and shower wouldn't be ideal for a large person or someone claustrophobic. However, for the price, location and everything else, we were more than happy with it. This hotel was excellent, the people who ran the hotel were very friendly people and the rooms were very clean and tidy and the breakfast was very good and on time every morning and brought to your room. difficult to find as it is part of a building with a number of houses behind the outside imposing wooden doors but I would recommend it for location and friendliness of staff. Room was spotless. No communal areas for breakfast so it is delivered on a tray to the bedroom. Room basic but then you don't go to rome to stay in your room

I stayed in the Hotel Maikol with my partner for 3 nights. The owner couldnt have being more helpful. The breakfast was enough to set you up for the day. The outside area doesnt look great but the hotel itself was perfectly furnished, spotlessly clean. Would recommend a stay at this hotel. Will return again when in Rome again

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Maikol. The staff were so friendly and eager to be helpful in any way. Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning and was always delicious. Literally 30 seconds from the subway but was close to walk as well, being only 10 minutes from the Colosseum. "Unusual circumstances-less than stellar review!"
I realize that most people really liked this hotel. It was for this reason that we decided to stay there. We were looking for a clean hotel, close to public transportation, with good service and were willing to sacrifice amenities and a more charming view to save some money. I was hoping, however, for a little more than we got. The room on the website, […] while simply decorated, still looked charming and bright. I understood that our room might not be the exact room in the picture, but while we were trying to save money, I was a little disappointed with the room. It was nowhere near as charming and bright as the picture on the website. Instead, the room had a drop ceiling with one fluorescent light in the center and a very small window in the corner of the room. The result was a room that felt like someone put bedroom furniture in an office building to make a hotel. In addition, I missed small inexpensive details like some kind of bath mat (so I didn't slip on the tile floor every time I got out of the shower) and an extra roll of toilet paper so we didn't run out in the middle of the night when there was no one around to ask for more and you didn't feel like getting dressed and going out even if there was. All of these things, however I could have easily dealt with, but there was one major deal breaker. You can always ask for an extra towel and we finally asked for an extra roll of toilet paper. The big kicker for me was the fact that although this was a non-smoking hotel, several times we walked into the hotel to the very strong odor of cigarette smoke. Everyone knows cigarettes aren't good for you, but I happen to be allergic to them. This means that the negative effects of the smoke are considerably more immediate for me than for others. I wound up sick the entire time we stayed in the hotel. Every day we would go out and I would get better. excellent little b&b ,walking distance to terminee rail,50yards from metro and close to tram,only down side to hotel is no kettle in room but staff always provided hot water and cups/milk when asked.customer service was excellent. if you are on a budget stay here because the level of service and location are usually in much more expensive hotels.

Rien à redire. Parfait. - Wifi dans les chambres, gratuit. Un gros plus par rapport aux hôtels le facturant à prix prohibitif ! - Le petit déjeuner du matin, servi en chambre, avec un cappuccino à se damner. - Un personnel adorable, à l'écoute, prompt à vous donner des conseils de visites et de restaurants si vous le souhaitez. - English spoken ! Les moins : - Pour les plus délicats, demander les chambres sur Cour. Celles sur la rues sont un peu plus bruyantes. - Faiblement indiqué sur rue, uniquement par un panneau mural. Det er stille, roligt og man hører kun lidt til "naboerne". Til ren overnatning er det et fint sted, dog er mulighederne for direkte transport til stedet begrænset til den ene Metro, og det kan derfor være tidskrævende hvis ikke man kender busser og sporvogne at komme frem og tilbage til centrum, men der er også kun ca. 3km til fods. alt i alt fint til alene eller tosom overnatning. mest bed and breakfast mindre hotel. "Hotell Maikol Rom Termini"
Trevligt litet hotell. Billigt och helt klart värt sitt pris! Rent och sköna sängar, trevlig och hjälpsam personal samt frukost på sängen. Svårt att hitta! finns inget som skyltar om hotellet förutom en liten mässings skylt på dörren...virrade runt kvarteret innan vi tillslut titta längs med dörrarna. Ligger lite avsides.

Läget är centralt och nära Metro. Relativt nära Colosseum dit vi gick. Man får mycket för pengarna om man bor här. Badrummet är snyggt och rent vilket är viktigt för oss. Sedan finns en säng ett kylskåp en tv ett skrivbord en garderob 2 sängbord och två stolar - mer behöver man inte! Den parfymerade lukten var väldigt stark en dag av de 3 vi var där. […] Kommer antingen från rengöringsmedel eller parfym och var lite irriterande speciellt om man är allergisk mot sådant. En hund fanns där också någonstans för vi kunde höra den skälla i sömnen på nätterna. Frukosten är ok, vi gillar inte wienerbröd men den varna smörgåsen, kaffet, juicen och yoghurten var bra. Probably this is not the first review what you are reading right now about this hotel. So I will just basically summarise what was said earlier. We stayed there for 3 nights, I have choosed this becouse of the good reviews and I had to say I was not dissapointed. The staff is super nice and helpful, with good english language - this is not very common […] in Italy. The room was clean and big, there is even a flatscreen TV (with like 90 italian speaking channels and no english/german/etc) and an airconditioner. Bathroom is also okay - and the staff changed the towels every day altough we did not put them onto the ground showing that we'd like them replaced. The breakfast consists of a croissant, a toasted sandwich, a yoghurt, orange juice plus coffee/tee/capuccino/hot chockolate of your choice which is enough for most of us. Since the hotel do not has a dining room it is served every day to your bedroom. The neighborhood is not the best, there is litter everywhere (common problem in Rome as I saw), and nights you can see a few homeless sleeping in doorways, but if you look aside it is not critical. It is mostly populated by immigrants from the far east. We stayed out long in the nights and it was calm and quiet. The hotel itself is a few blocks away from the main station 'Termini' so unless you have a lot of baggage it is not important to grab a taxi, just walk 5 minutes. As mentioned earlier by others there is not a huge sign showing 'Maikol' so you have to look at the doorbells. Is you see a sign "MAS" then you are there. You can find a lot of cheap restaurants around and the mass transit is excellent (underground in less than 1 minute walk, few bus stations, and also a tram line) and if you walk back to 'Termini' you're in the middle of the town. The Colosseum is also not far away. So if you're on a budget this is your ultimate choice. It is officially not a 'regular' hotel but a B&B - but I have to say this is one of the best I've seen in years. I would choose this Przeczytaj więcej
