Steigenberger Herrenhof Wien - Vienna 48.2099, 16.36554

We found Vienna to be somewhat expensive when looking for hotel rooms, so I didn't expect much from the Steigenberger since it was an average price for the area. However, the hotel was outstanding in almost every facet, including service, hotel location, comfort of room, etc. Based on the other people staying at the hotel, and one other American couple we met who told us what they paid, I think we ended up with a much better deal than average for the hotel. So: if the hotel seems like an average price for the area in Vienna, I would make a reservation immediately!

I'm so glad we chose this hotel. It was conveniently located right above the Herrengasse Ubahn stop, a 2 minute walk to the Hofburg, 5 minutes to Helgenplatz and Graben, about 7 minutes to the Opera/Kartnerstrasse, the big art museum, and 10 minutes to the big music hall/Karlsplatz, the Museum Quarter, or the Burg Theatre/Rathaus. Cafe Central was 30 seconds away. I like that we were on a quiet street (how people can stay on Kartnerstrasse or Ringstrasse, I have no idea), yet the area was well-lit, and never devoid of passersby. I understand the neighborhood houses a lot of diplomats. The room (a superior room) was strikingly laid-out. I enjoyed the decor, especially of the bathroom. Ample storage space and extremely comfortable bed. I also appreciated the free mini-bar and the robe/slippers. Lovely and excellent spa facilities downstairs (wet and dry saunas, foot baths, and an extra cold shower in addition to the regular ones.

Fantastic location, within walking distance of most of the must-see sites. Except for the lack of a bureau and drawers,the room was modern and comfortable and the service was very professional.

Vienna was the second stop on our trip and the Steigenberger Herrenhof Wien Hotel is perfectly located from all the major tourist sites. 5 minute walk to Hofburg Imperial Residence and Palace, 10 minutes from Museum Campus and Stefansdom. The hotel is tucked away 1 block off tourist pedway so it is very quiet and the subway is literally right around the corner of the hotel entrance. The interior far exceeded our expectations and there was free minibar everyday, which was a nice surprise. By far the best hotel we stayed at during our 3 European city vacation.

I cannot fault this hotel in any way. From the friendly welcome we received when we arrived, to the charming farewell, the staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. Our room was very spacious, very well appointed and spotlessly clean. The free mini bar was a nice extra! The location was perfect for us, with museums and galleries all within walking distance - as were the beautiful parks, restaurants and astonishing architecture. An incredible variety of shops were nearby. All the major designers were represented and our vote for best window design definitely goes to Chanel - amazing! Add to all this, the famous Cafe Central, practically next door, for a breakfast to remember and on the other side, Vapiano, the very inexpensive (but excellent) Italian restaurant. Perfect!

Outstanding housing. The service was excellent. These folks are pros. I've stayed at the Steigenberger three times now and they've come through for me every time-- even when there was a reservation mix-up (it was my fault, by the way). I highly recommend them.

This is a beautiful, classy, and very comfortable hotel in a terrific location in the First District in Vienna. We could walk everywhere and see all the amazing sights of Vienna within 10 - 20 minutes. The hotel staff were friendly, accommodating, and very easy to deal with. The room was extremely comfortable, with wonderful duvet blankets and excellent mattress. It also was very quiet. The bathroom was sparkling new, with wonderful shampoos and amenties. There was live music in the lounge in the evening, and apples at the reception desk! The only downside is that the breakfast is not included, and at 26 Euros per person, we were not going to pay such an exorbitant price. However, there are so many other wonderful cafes and other choices in the area that it is actually more fun to eat breakfast in a cafe or konditorei in close-by Graben or Kartnerstrasse or on Herrengasse itself. All in all, a wonderful boutique-type of hotel that we will definitely come back to next time in Vienna.

My daughter and i stayed in the Steigenberger Herrenhof Wien and were very pleased with our accomodation. The room on the first floor was spacious and extremely comfortable. The hotel has an excellent location, central to the shopping areas and many of the main tourist attractions.

Comfortable,Clean with helpful staff. Not much character but could not be better located to see Vienna. Would definately use again.

The Herrenhof hotel is just 100 metres from the Spanish riding school and in an extremely nice area. I Think the hotel has been only fairly recently been modernized but it certainly shows. I Would say without hesitation that it would be my choice next time I am in Vienna.

Clean room. Nice new hotel. Decent sized room, fits 2 very comfortably. Air conditioning a little warm to my liking. Breakfast not included which was a small disadvantage. Free internet access. Friendly and approachable staff. Very central location, near to attractions and main center of town. Herrengasse metro station next to hotel.

et godt utgangspunkt for vandring i sentrum. nær serverdigheter- U-Bahn - cafeer og restauranter. St.peter kirche- Stephansdom ,meget flotte.

Meget venligt personale. Lækre indrettede store værelser. Super beliggenhed et stenkast fra Den Spanske Rideskole og Kohlmarkt den gode shoppinggade.

Really nice, modern and clean hotel. Location can not be better.

La camera era esattamente come nelle foto, bella struttura, nuova, moderna, compreso il centro benessere con le docce, una sauna, un bagno turco sembra mai usati, quindi pulitissimi, le vasche per il relax dei piedi e i lettini per rigenerarsi. Posizione centralissima, a due passi dalla metropolitana e nel periodo di Pasqua (o forse perenni) con due mercatini proprio dietro l'hotel dove si mangiano Krapfen XL a soli € 1,50!

Schönes neu renoviertes Hotel mit bester Lage im Zentrum. U-Bahnstation in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten leicht zu Fuß erreichbar. Absolut ruhiges Zimmer im 6. Stock zum Innenhof. Sehr bequeme Betten. 1x Minibar gratis. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Wir würden wieder dort übernachten.
