This is the second time I stayed at the Utica Holiday Inn Express and it doesn't cease to impress! It was a great rate for 4 adults too! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and there are a lot of stores, restaurants, and entertainment surrounding this location!

Well everything was fine except for the AAA hockey parents and kids who totally destroyed the breakfast bar, I don't think Holiday Inn had any ability to keep up with the quantity of food these guys were going to eat. Very clean the service was nice no problems with the room ..the only thing was the elevator which is really slow ,,, But you will get comfortable with other thing in the hotel such as swimming pool , breakfast , computer room. long story short reserve at this hotel you will never regret

Only complaint is the same at all Holiday Inn Expresses. I don't understand why the drapes do not close and the rooms are always full of light. Everything else is excellent, but I do not like being in a room with shear curtains only that allow street lights and early sun.

I had a great experience at the hotel, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I accidentially left a birthday card with money in it when I left and the front desk clerk called me 2 minutes after leaving to let me know that it was there and to come pick it up. Overall the hotel was very clean. Our room was tastefully decorated and very clean also. Very nice, large bathrooms. Room service was great. Would recommend this hotel.

The hotel room was clean and overall the property is very nice. The downside was the "LOUD" fan on the heater. It was so loud I had to turn off the heat in the middle of the night. When we checked into your hotel this past visit our room smelled of smoke. We knew your hotel was now a smoke free hotel. My husband went down to the desk and asked if they could change our room. They said yes, no problem. When we got to our new room it was a suite! How very nice of your staff to do that. Thank you so much!

Pros: In a nice location, friendly staff, decent hot breakfast, tiny but functional fitness room, good sized bathroom with lots of counter space, room had a mini-fridge and a microwave. Cons: Room smelled like smoke (even though it's a non-smoking hotel), had to request a new room. New room had hair all over the bathroom floor. At 10:45pm discovered […] that the fitted sheet on the king-sized bed did not fit (couldn't get all 4 corners to stay on at one time). Waited 20+ minutes for the front desk girl to bring a new one up, then had to help her strip and remake the bed (while I was in my pajamas, mind you). Awkward! We searched online through hotels.com for a place to stay for the weekend and booked this one based upon other people's reviews and the proximity of it to the areas of interest for us. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Utica hotel was the same as the pictures online (this is not always the case with other places). The […] front desk staff were courteous and helpful and also offered suggestions for places to visit to shop at and restaurants to eat at. We were waiting to use the elevator to go downstairs one morning and were speaking with the maid for our floor. She was very pleasant, professional, mannerly and courteous as she insisted that we use the elevator first before she took her cart downstairs (customers first). The room itself was very clean and tidy. We never noticed any noise from the hallways or neighbouring rooms. Breakfast was available in the mornings and the food was quite good. This hotel is located in an area where there are other hotels very close by as well however we never had a need to make a change to another hotel. There are restaurants located a few steps away so we didn't have to drive away from the hotel at all. Dave and Buster's restaurant is a few steps away and is an excellent place to eat. (This was recommended by the front desk staff). After returning home from our weekend away, we have already recommended this hotel to family members to stay at for their planned weekend away as well. Overall this hotel was great, the location and price (which includes the breakfast bar) was good, close to lakeside and partridge creek malls and right off of the 53 which makes for easy commuting north or south. Upon check in there was some computer issue and it was not showing that the room we booked was available so they immediately upgraded us to […] the family suite, which was perfect because I was traveling with my husband and sister for a family funeral. The only negative I would state is that this room had windows that open (which we love) but it is directly above the main entrance so on saturday night when all the drunks want to be loud and smoke a cigarette that is where they hung out. At 1am I called the front desk to ask them to have these people move from this area and they said "they would talk to them" but did not apologize. This issue continued on an off until about 4am, but after this first night we did not run into that issue anymore. But as I said before, overall this hotel was great and I would stay there again. My softball team traveled for a tournament and stayed at the Utica HIE. Nicely appointed, clean, everything good I've come to expect from HIE's of late. Close to highways and there's a nearby Dave and Busters (which I don't normally frequent, but they work for softball team schedules).
