Comfortable and cozy apartment. Beautiful, picturesque view from the windows of the bedroom and living room on the Napoli bay and the city of Napoli. Pretty nice care of the host. "Very nice place out of busy Sorrento"
We thought this hotel was lovely. The staff were extremely helpful and always tried to go the extra to help us out. This hotel is up on the hill out of Sorrento. It is about a 20 min bus trip, but it is well worth it. We would definitely stay here again rather than in Sorrento. It is an easy short 5-10 min walk from St Agata, which is a lovely Italian […] village at the top of the hill. There were some great restaurants up there and we ate there every night. There is a lovely 30min walking path down to Sorrento that you must do at least once. This was one of the highlights for us after being in busy Rome. I wouldn't walk back up though. There is a SITA bus that stops right outside the hotel (although the first time you won't see the stop until it is too late - maybe ask the driver when you get on - we had to walk 1 stop back down the thin windy road). We found that the SITA busses were quite unreliable though and didn't run all services stated on the timetable. Ask the desk staff for recommendations on which services they think will run. Alternatively the hotel runs a free shuttle services quite a number of times a day. Overall - we would highly recommend staying here. Przeczytaj więcej

"wonderful stay"

"Question Everything"
Once again, this hotel was top tier. My only recommendtation is that a more accurate description of the hotel's location, relative to Sorrento (train station) be more accurate. It's NOT .5 miles from the center of the City. It's 6 miles (20 minutes/50 Euros) from the center of the City. The hotel does however, (we found out afterwards) complementary […] shuttle service daily to the City Center. A bus line, with service to the City Center is just across the street and runs every 20 minutes (inexpensive). "A good choice"
Excellent, helpful and friendly customer service from all members of staff . Magnificent views across the bay from the pool and restaurant. Free shuttle bus was much appreciated, as was the advice about the cost of taxis. A special thank you to the Manager,William , for his help when our flight was cancelled .

"Questionable Star Rating"
A bit far from everything - not good if you don't have a car. The hotel shuttle to Sorrento is great, but plan your trip ahead and book it the day before. We read a lot about the great service and room views but upon arrival were given the room with a view to absolutely nothing, even though we booked 4 months ahead the trip. The explanation was "I got […] your booking yesterday". However, upon complaining we were given the room with a side view, on the higher floor. Rooms are dissapointedly furnished, TVs are old and small, there's not enough light in the evening (4 bulbs x 20W I would say) - don't bother trying to read. But the bathroom is great! No problems with the room cleanliness. Breakfast is included and is pretty good, there's something for everyone. Great view from the restaurant and pool area. If you need a room safe, note that there is a fee for that (which we were not told upon giving us the key to the safe). Would not recommend staying at Villa Romita, it's dark and scary at night. Must go to the Da Mimi's Restaurant in the St Agatha; the city is a few minutes walk up the hill, past Villa Romita. The Grand Hotel Hermitage & Villa Romita was very nice. It was clean and the rooms were not too small. The staff was very helpful and the restaurant was very good. The only problem we encountered was that because we were traveling in March, which is off-season, transportation into town was very difficult. Beautiful hotel with amazing views across the Bay of Naples. Booked on line - no problem. Paid with Visa card. The Villa is 2 minutes walk and is very comfortable with a sun terrace. The pool area was lovely - never a problem getting a sun lounger and we were there in August. Restaurant was lovely - ate on the terrace every evening - lovely to dress […] up a bit and food was excellent. Set menus and buffet hors 'd'oeuvres were great. Lovely Hotel and good price, situiated in the hills above Sorrento about 10Kms away. Great vistas Hotel serves meals in evening for those that want it. Nice clean rooms, beds a bit hard. Difficult to get beds by the pool in high season as usually nabbed in the morning, so recommend you get your towels down Mostly Belgian, few French and a few German […] and English/Irish. Staff friendly and you have a tab run for meals pool bar snacks drinks etc and can settle by credit card. Nice pool on smallish side. Rooms have TV and wi fi is 5 euro for an hour. Free Carparking and we drove to St Agata village to eat and buy drinks. Could walk but roads are narrow. It was a very nice hotel however it was quite out of the way. It was definitely for travels with who had hired a car. I also found the staff to be quite snobby and as it was myself and a friend of mine (both two young 21 year old girls), the staff did not treat us as well as the other older customers. As part of a 2 and ½ week vacation of Austria and Italy, we had only a short stay, July 7/10 to July10/10 at the Grand Hotel Hermitage. We thoroughly enjoyed the quaintness of this hotel that is centrally located between Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. We had a lovely sea view room (a few Euros more but worth it) that was air conditioned and quite comfortable […] in the July heat. The twin beds were somewhat firmer than we were used to but we made do. A word of warning though, the hair dryers that were supplied in the two hotels where we stayed in Italy were much different than we're used to in North America. I would suggest you bring your own if possible. The buffet breakfast was included in our room rate and it had a good variety to satisfy just about anyone. As well, we had the option to eat indoors or outside on the patio by the pool. The pool had a marvellous view overlooking the city of Sorrento. The village of Sant' Agata sui due Golfi is just a short walking distance from this hotel and had some good shopping spots, especially for shoes. Many of the shops close during the afternoon so make sure you're out and about earlier in the day for shopping. We dined at the hotel one night and enjoyed two dinners in one of the local restaurants in Sant' Agata and walked to and from our hotel each night. The most notable part of our stay at the Grand Hotel Hermitage however is the quality of the staff. They were very accommodating and friendly. A special mention to the hotel manager, William, who went out of his way to help us with a difficult situation regarding our rental car. We had a mechanical problem and found ourselves stranded with no vehicle and he was instrumental in arranging a replacement and transportation to the Naples airport to pick up another rental car. We do not speak any Italian and without his help our ordeal would have been much worse. We would highly recommend this hotel to visitors to the Sorrento area and I’m sure they will enjoy their stay. Hotel was a little difficult to find especially that not many people speak English. Service was good. However, hotel furniture was seriously outdated and old. Beds were not comfortable.
"Great view but hard to get to"
The hotel was located high above the ocean with spectacular views of the Bay of Naples. The location has its pros and cons. It was very difficult to find, but well worth it after we arrived. The room was very nice and clean, but the beds were hard as a rock! I would return to the hotel, but without children.

Hotel very nice but you need to be fit and able to do the hill walking required especially if you are not in the main hotel but allocated to the separate villa. There are no lifts and after a long day you may well struggle if elderly or slightly infirm.
welcoming staff good hotel food ,large comfy room , views to die for would recomend a car hire as travel to and from hotel is a bit hit and miss, in spite of the hotel bus,though the local bus service is not bad once you get the hang of it.all in all an enjoyable experiance

ottimo weekend sulla costiera amalfitana, ottima la posizione a circa 7 km da sorrento e 12 km da positano, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo considerando che la colazione è molto buona e abbastanza ricca e servizio navetta gratuita per sorrento. il personale dell'hotel è molto gentile e disponibile.sicuramente l'hotel non equivale ad un quattro stelle […] e sicuramente ci sono stanze migliori però considerato il prezzo non potevamo avere di meglio.l'unica nota negativa è non aver avuto la tv in camera ma in un altro stanzino con un divano. erano tanti anni che non andavo sulla costiera ,perché i prezzi in qualsiasi weekend dell'anno erano molto salati.Ebbene attirati da un offerta su internet siamo tornati e con grande soddisfazione.L'hotel hermitage si trova a sant'agata dei 2 golfi , in una posizione molto panoramica sul golfo di sorrento,distante 10-15 minuti di auto,nello stesso tempo […] si arriva a positano.Quindi una posizione favorevole per visitare tutte e due coste.Il personale è molto disponibile e gentile ,la prima colazione semplice ma abbondante per il prezzo pagato.L'unico problema era la stanza vicino all'ascensore e quindi rumorosa ,ma altri amici più distanti non hanno avuto lo stesso problema.In conclusione se trovate una offerta andateci subito! Behalve het mooie uitzicht, beantwoordt het hotel niet aan wat men verwacht van een viersterrenhotel. De ligging vlakbij het dorpje Sant Agata is wel uitstekend. Goed openbaar vervoer om de streek te verkennen. Een auto is niet echt nodig. Het ontbijt en restaurant zijn matig tot goed. Goede verhouding prijs/kwaliteit.

We had a fantastic stay with the ever helpfull and friendly staff. Kid friendly pool and fantastic view, bunkbed for the kids was nice touches. Risk free parking, and private path to local city (sct agata) was great. Not a hotel for family wo car, sorrento is suprisingly far off, about 20 minutes in car. "Wir wurden verwöhnt"
Das Hotel bietet jeden Komfort. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet. personal sehr freundlich. Es hat nur einen Nachteil es liegt mitten im grünen. Ohne fahrbaren Untersatz ist man verloren. ansonsten Erholung pur.
"Phantastische Aussicht über den Golf von Neapel"
Für 10 Tage über Ostern 2011 waren wir in diesem Hotel. Guter Service, sehr freundliches Personal - vor allem an der Rezeption - ,nette Zimmer und vor allem eine tolle Aussicht über den Golf von Neapel kennzeichnen dieses Haus. Wir können es nur weiterempfehlen.

Très bel hotel avec vue magnifique sur la baie de Naples et le Vesuve. Acceuil sympa, belle piscine. Par contre, accès routier compliqué : route très sinueuse et parfois etroite (attention n'ecoutez pas toujours votre GPS !!) et circulation estivale infernale (comptez près de 1h30 parfois pour faire Pompei-Sorrento). Utroligt venligt ,hjælpsomt og serviceminded personale. Flot flot udsigt. Mange udflugtsmål i nærheden, som du bare må opleve. Fantastisk service med gratis shuttle bus fra hotellet til Sorrento. Til prisen, kan det ikke være meget bedre
