Personnel in hotel very friendly, makes you feel like home. Information easily on hand. Breakfast buffet exellent, very good service, personnel friendly. Location not the best possible, but at this price its ok. To get to old town, you must walk through hazy environment. As always everywhere, bus station and railway station contain not so wanted experiment. […] And they are between hotel and old town. Not so long walk though, you can handle it. We stayed 3 nights and the rooms cost less than half the rooms we had in Jurmala for 2 nights. We didn't expect a lot and, to be fair, there was no air con (but we did know about this) and the location wasn't very salubrious, but it was safe. Parking was free and easy. Really nice hotel for not a lot of money. Room was nice and large facing onto the street but the windows kept noise to a minimum. The hotel uses a taxi service to run shuttles from the hotel to the airport. We decided to go back this way because its a bit of a walk when you get off the number 22 bus from the airport at the Stockman Centre - especially […] when you haven't got your bearings. Price for the taxi shuttle from hotel at present is 3 Lats per person but minimum of 9 Lats per journey. Well worth it we thought. Loved the hotel bar for a drink or cappuchino before bed. (No kettle in room). Takes about ten minutes to walk to the edge of the old town or you can get a number 7 or 9 tram to the Opera house which is much nearer. Hotel staff were extremely helpful. You would think that a hotel, not located in the old city would be an issue. Not this hotel! Very close to VecRiga and you don't hear the noise you would expect at 3am from revellers coming home. I stayed at the hotel with 4 friends and we all enjoyed our stay very much. The location is great, close to the central station (10 minute walk) and next door to the incredible academy of science and zeppelin market. The Hanza hotel represented very good value for money. Rooms are clean and relatively large. The staff is friendly and fluent in English. The location is the only disadvantage of this hotel, its surrounding neighborhood is in a slight state of decay. The hotel is very pleasant and well maintained. Our room was lovely and warm- with temperatures outside at -22 degrees it needed to be! The room itself was decorated well and included all we needed as standard. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was very welcome too! Breakfast was good with a choice of continental or cooked and even if you arrived […] 5 mins. before the end of service there was always a good choice. We used the restaurant on a couple of occasions and although there wasn't a huge choice the meals were very good and reasonably priced for a hotel. The hotel is situated within 10 mins. walk of the old town and all the sights. We were amazed at how beautiful the city was and how much has gone in to make the tourist feel welcome. I would come back some day, I like that the hotel was located in the middle of the city and that I for ones didn´t have to pay for parkling... Which I always has to do in Riga. The hotel is a bit old, but still quit romantic in the style. I have recommend it to my colleguase who also travels to Riga ones in a while...

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. OK, it's a little bit out of the centre, but it was only about a 10 minute walk and there were things to see in the vicinity of the hotel. This was our second stay at the Hanza and we were just as pleased with the hotel the second time around. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are simple but comfortable. Our rooms were ready for us when we arrived before the official check-in time, check-in was speedy and the reception staff were welcoming and helpful . Breakfasts are perfectly […] adequate and the hotel has a restaurant that serves tasty and reasonably priced meals throughout the day. Do not be put off by the hotel's location. While it's slightly outside the centre of the city, the old town is only a ten minute walk and the train and bus stations are even closer. The amazing market halls are only five minutes away and are not to be missed. At night a tram will take you to within a couple of blocks of the hotel avoiding having to walk through the quiet market area. Alternatively, taxis are very reasonably priced, though heed the warnings about using only reputable taxi companies. Riga is a lovely city and well worth a visit - you can see most of the major sights in a day or two (don't miss the incredible art nouveau area) but leave a day for a trip outside the city to see some more of the Latvian countryside. In spite of it's reputation, we always felt completely safe in Riga and found the people very obliging. We would recommend the Hanza as a convenient and very good value base for a visit to the city. The room had been newly rennovated to a good standard, but the furnishings were austere, and the bed consisted of two narrow beds almost shoved together. The bath room was great unless one also wanted a tub, but the hairdryer was good quality. There were no bars of soap provided, liquid soap only for shower, no shampoo. It was bit cheeky for the bottled water in the room to be priced about $5,00 per bottle, when larege bottles were about 50 cents a short walk away. The hotel is not in the city center. It is about a ten minute walk to the market and then another five minutes to old town. It is a convenient location, but there isn't much around it in the way of restaurants. It is about 20 minutes from the airport and there is a bus from the airport for a nominal fee, and the taxi cost is about US$15.00. Aprivate courtesy van is available from the hotel for the same price. The driver was on time, spoke perfect Enlish. The breakfast was so basic that I only gave it one try, and the service was nothing to write home about and I don't recommend it if there is an option, items that should have been hot, scrambled eggs for example were cold. All in all, not satisfactory. Based on this one experience in Riga, if you are looking for the same friendly customer service that you get in Italy, Poland, UK and some other European countries you will not find it here. It is a beautiful city, and I plan to return and also plan to stay in a different hotel, one located in old town for convenience. If you are visiting Riga for the first time, two or three nights might be a good place to start, and then see if you want to spend more time there. Smart looking hotel with modern clean rooms. Stayed for 2 separate nights. Quiet location so no drunken stag parties plying the streets. First night corridors smelt smoky (5th floor) but second night was better (1st floor). Not particularly well located for the old town but a pleasant short walk through the market. Worried when taxi driver from airport […] told us not to go out at night in the neighbourhood but none of our party had any problems. Breakfast was basic, continental. My boyfriend and I were here for three days in August. We were very pleased with this hotel and would stay here again. Out the window, there is a lovely view of the church and the room had a nice, homey feel to it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm a vegan, so eating anywhere in the Baltics was pretty bleak; that said, I found enough at […] the breakfast buffet to tide me over. I could never get wireless from my room, but the connection in the pub was fine, and it was a comfortable place to sit and have a beer while checking e-mails. Only two relatively minor concerns: 1) the walk over to the bus station and Old Town was terrific during the day - it's a short walk, and you can pass right through the Central Market, which is a treat, but late at night, it felt just a little dark and isolated; and 2)our room was directly above the outdoor cafe, which was no problem except for when they closed up each night -- the sound of chairs and tables being moved around seemed to go on and on. Hanza Hotel was a fantastic place to stay in Riga. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the breakfast provided was great. Only 10min walk to old town so very convenient. And the staff at Hanza were very helpful with all our questions.

We were very impressed by the Hanza Hotel. The room itself was very clean and modern, underfloor heating which was nice and a great bathroom. Very spacious too. lite, og koselig. trivelig personale, god frokost :) og det beste: gangavstand til gamlebyen gjennom et "interessant marked". Vi kjøpte strikkavotter... det eneste som manglet, var en liten minibar :) ellers helt greit rom... og spaet p shoppingsenteret: anbefales! rein luksus! ok, ikke så veldig rimelig, men verdt hver øre :)

Fint hotell med veldig behjelpelig og hyggelig betjening. God mat i kjeller puben, men litt dumt den stenger kl 23.00. Ligger ganske sentralt, men du beveger deg ikke i gatene rundt hotellet etter det er mørkt. Da tar du en fin rød taxi :-) litt minus at det ikke var minibar/lite kjøleskap på rommet da vannet vi kunne kjøpe der var varmt :-/ men stort […] bad, og god plass. Vi hadde et 4 netters opphold på hotellet. Veldig hyggelig service, hotellet var moderne og forholdsvis nyoppusset, god frokost og bra renhold av rommene. Dette hotellet ligger litt avsides fra selve "smørøya" gamlebyen, (ca 10-15 min gange) noe som faktisk kan være positivt siden det var stille og rolig. Det var kort vei til markedene i byen. Beschrijving van Hotels.com niet geheel conform de werkelijkheid. Ligt 10-15 minuten lopen van de rand van de oude stad. Schone, basic kamer met basic sanitair. Ontbijt ook basic maar voldoende, sneetjes zelf te roosteren brood. Restaurantje serveert uitstekend eten en bediening is altijd vriendelijk en voorkomend. En spreekt Engels. Nyoppusset hotell, 10 minutter rask gange fra gamlebyen. Meget prisgunstig, kjempefin service i resepsjonen. Mye lokal koloritt mellom hotellet og gamlebyen, noe av koloritten ganske slitt. Kommer gjerne tilbake til hotellet.

Vi var 3 par som var på helgetur til Riga. Vi var strålende fornøyd med hotellet. reint, fint og bare 5-6 min å gå inn til gamlebyen :-) kan annbefales på det sterkeste :-) takker for en flott helg Mvh Truls fra Bergen Norge

Kjempe fint Hotel med bra beliggenhet, kjempe koselige ansatte som er meget behjelpelige :-) Absolutt verdt pengene!

Sjølv om dette hotellet lå et stykke fra gamlebyen,så var det helt ok å bo på det.Ganske fornøyd med oppholdet her.Kan anbefalest.

Absolutt å anbefale. Alt bra, betjening, renslighet, frokost. For oss ikke noe problem med ca.6-7 mins gange fra selve sentrum, i relativt folketomme gater, men muligens ikke noe for alle. Nært til busser, et fantastisk marked, stormagasiner. Drar gjerne tilbake!

Dette var et lite og intimt hotell, som hadde kort vei til marked og gamlebyen. Det skal sies at det er ok å ta taxi hjem på kveldene, da Moskwastreet ikke er helt trygt. MEN det er ingen hindring, og vi velger gjerne hotellet igjen. Hotellet hadde fin frokost og hyggelig betjening. Det kan spises i restauranten, eller bare bli sittende for noen d […] rinker. Ca 10 min spasertur fra gamlebyen, gjennom et litt chabby, men koselig/ufarlig marked. Markedet er forresten til å anbefale, spesielt det som er innendørs i hangardene. Frokosten er veldig bra, og verdt å stå opp for, den serveres til 12 i helgene, bra!

Olimme oikein tyytyväisiä hotelliin. Hotelli oli moderni ja valoisa. Huoneet olivat tilavia ja viihtyisiä. Ainoastaan aamupalasali oli aika pieni. Aamupalalla ei ollut kuin 2-3 eri leipää. Saimme silti vatsamme täyteen, Hotellin hinta-laatusuhde oli kohdillaan. Pieni kävelymatka oli keskustaan, mutta kävelymatka meni nopeaan, koska torialue oli matkan […] varrella. Myyntikojuja katsellessa matka taittui nopeaan. Menisin uudelleen, jos lähtisin Riikaan. Suosittelen lämpimästi tätä hotellia myös muille. Palvelu oli lämminhenkistä ja ystävällistä. Lähellä zeppelin halleja ja vanhaa kaupunkia. Eikä itse keskustakaan sen kauempana ole. Siistit huoneet ja suht. tilavatkin. Sisustettu kivasti. Aamupala oli hyvä ja varmaan jokaiselle jotakin. Hotellin ravintolassakin ruoka oli hyvää. Suosittelen.

Flott hotel, med god service og en pub som hadde et veldig bra kjøkken, som absolutt kan anbefales. Jeg vil anbefale alle som kan tenke seg ne tur til Riga, gjør som meg velg Hotels .com for bestilling av rom på Hanza hotel.

Huoneissa oli kokolattiamatot, ja jotenkin kovin voimakkaan pesu./desinfiointiaineen tuoksu. Meillä oli kaksi huonetta, joista toisen kylppärissä oli vesivahingon jälkenä nähtävissä kasvustoa katossa, josta huomautetiin ja pyydettiin saada huone vaihdettua, mikä onnistuikin helposti. Äänieristys on surkea kauttaaltaan, Huoneissa ei ollut jääkaappia/minibaaria, […] mikä on mielestämme melkoinen puute. Siainti on suht kiva lähellä keskustaa, eikä palveluakaan voi moittia.
