"Room had an awful smoke odor."
Hotel was adequate, not the best of neighborhoods. Staff were pleasant but not knowledgeable about location of events. The ballooon festival is a huge event for Longview and the staff was completely unaware of it's existence or directions. They were unable to refer us to anyone who could help either. The hotel information states it is a non smoking […] facility but they do have smoking rooms which means the whole place is a smoking facility as they cannot police each room every night to monitor for smoking. The room is large. The hotel was conveniently located to the event. Each night I arrived at the hotel after midnight. 1st night - we had a stinky pillow. We threw it on the floor and went to sleep. 2nd night - There was the biggest and grosses stain on the bottom sheet you would care to imagine. When I called the front desk, I was told; of course, housekeeping […] was gone - duh .And she had access to some new linen. I could come down and pick up. "I'll stay at Holiday Inn Express from here on out!"
I booked a non-smoking room, but the first room they sent me to had clearly had chain smokers in it. The front desk clerk acknowledged that they had had a problem with smokers, and she had complained about it, but management had done nothing. She gave me a second room that smelled better. However, there was a big, stinky pair of someone else's jeans […] in a pile by the sofa sleeper in that room, which I brought out to the housekeeper. The advertised "hot breakfast" was horrible--next to no food, the coffee sucked, and they said it would be served until 10:00, but was shut down at 9:00. My sister's room had an iron that did not work. From here on out, I'll stay at Holiday Inn Express--at least they are a known quantity to me. This place was awful.
