Great hotel. Perfect for families. My 7 yr. olds loved nighttime cookies & milk. I loved the breakfast. After a busy day at Legoland, we had a fabulous dinner at the steakhouse next door and it was an amazing surprise. Absolutely delicious, and the service was the best.

Very nice room. Updated and extremely comfortable. Would stay there again.

Great clean comforatable hotel. Don't think twice if going to legoland great for kids and adults. Wish all mid range hotels were like this.

Loved this hotel. I wasnt' sure when I booked as it looked like it was tucked into the freeway, but I had to be north of San Diego, to be near my meeting in Escondido. I chose this hotel because it looked near the beach, which turned out to be true. A lovely beach within 0.5 mile walk or a very short drive, plenty of street parking in December. No restaurants, […] shops or anything really in the neighborhood-- so must have a car to eat, shop, amuse yourself, unless you just want the beach. The hotel is very nicely done, friendly, and comfortable. The "breakfast" is okay-- Our stay was overwhelmed with private group so we had difficulty getting breakfast, getting a table, finding space in the lobby etc. We would definitely stay here again. West Inn and Suites surpassed our expectations. The service was outstanding: great advice from reception, free drop off and pick up from local attractions and shops. Highly recommend this hotel for the location and quality of the room. Service was okay. Free breakfast, free shuttle service, free DVD rental and cookies and milk was an added bonus. Restaurants by the hotel are really good too. The family suite does not have a door between the living room and bed room. FYI. You can hear the train passing by. Not too […] loud. But if you are a light sleeper, might be a problem. I didn't hear the train after 10pm. Service was okay. We were told there was cocktail hour from 5 to 6pm. But when we got back later in the evening to enjoy the cocktail, we were told that it was cancelled during the holiday week since there weren't a lot of guests. Wish they told us that before. Another incident was the shuttle bus. We asked to be picked up at Legoland at 5:35pm. But had to call three times to check on the shuttle since it was more than 15 min late. It was really cold. Didn't Appreciate the wait with two young kids. Room was great. Very clean and comfy beds. Location of the hotel was perfect. Five minute drive to the outlet and Legoland. We had an event in Escondido, so we needed to stay north of San Diego proper-- I wanted access to the beach for running and walking. West Inn Suites was more than I expected. Very clean, comfortable, homey (nice lobby and "library"), and only about 1/4 mile to beach. Definitely walkable, but just a few minutes in the car if you want to take stuff. The […] price of the room includes breakfast-- which is nice for something to tide you over until you get real food. I'd say the breakfast is the weakest part of the experience, however, coffee is fine, tea and juice and fresh bananas and apples-- if you opt out of the not-so-great eggs, potatoes, bacon etc. Another bonus: very quiet-- no freeway noise, no neighborhood noise, no other guest noise. This is a lovely hotel which is conveniently located. We love both restaurants and ate in each during our stay. The only complaint would be the breakfast they offer--plastic eggs......not in keeping with the upscale nature of the hotel. We'll go back again and skip the breakfast!

Excellent, friendly staff and attentive service. Geared for families and children---milk and cookies at night, car seat in free shuttle, free DVD movies, etc. Would definitely stay there again.

It felt like our friends could've owned this hotel. Everything was so nice and made us feel so at home. The free self-parking was super convenient and the restaurants on-site were awesome. We missed the cookies and milk but were SO PLEASED with the free, hot breakfast in the morning. I am weary of buffets and this one was aweosme. I usually stay in another chain hotel in the area, in order to accumulate 'points'. However, the summer rate was way too high to justify an overnight business trip. I'd been seeing West Inn as top rated and was listed at a reasonable rate. Was just there last week and wanted to say "WOW" what a great place to stay. Everything and everyone was perfect..would stay there again and recommend to anyone going to the area. Great breakfast, and if you are planning on going to the beach they have everything there for you to use...and nice stuff too!

The family really enjoyed our stay. Location was very convenient to many of the attraction in the San Diego area. We attended a baseball game at Petco and Lego Land. The free breakfast was a nice way to start the day. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Stayed at this hotel while visiting Carlsbad and Legoland with my husband, 2 kids (3 and 18 months), my parents, and sister. The staff was super helpful and the hotel offers free shuttle service to Legoland (no need to pay the $12 parking fee). The Premium Outlets are just a short drive away. The room was nice, comfortable with a mini-fridge and microwave […] in each room. Added bonus they offered milk/cookies from 8-9pm nightly (yummy!) and a daily hot breakfast. The West Bistro right on the property offered good meal options for our family. A bit pricey but good! The only downside, there's train that passes by the side/back of the hotel which you can hear but luckily it's not loud enough to awaken you from you sleep. We didn't get a chance to check out the pool, but they have towels and little swimmer diapers for our kids too. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again when we visit Carlsbad/Legoland area. SD is only about a 20 min drive from this hotel. Przeczytaj więcej

We stayed 5 nights at the west inn and had a wonderful visit. The hotel provides a great breakfast each morning and free shuttle service to legoland. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Our family loves this hotel. Our stay was unfortunately marred by a sick family member and the staff was WONDERFUL in providing anything we needed. The shuttle service was fantastic in helping with unexpected runs out side our their zone due to our situation. Of course the kids LOVE the pool and the milk and cookies! Thanks a bunch West Inn.

Hotel is very clean, beds are the best ever, love the cookies & milk in the evening for the kids.

we were staying here for two nights to visit legoland. it's very close to legoland, very clean, staffers friendly and helpful, and best of all, quiet. there is a train track very close by, but could not hear it at all. and the walls were not thin, like many other hotels, so we were able to get a good night's sleep in peace. the price, i thought, was […] very reasonable for the value that you get. the complimentary breakfast was not all that great, but it's complimentary, so can't complain. all in all, a great hotel and we will be staying here on future trips to legoland. This is one of the best hotels I stay at traveling around the country. Only recommendation is a better egg choice to match caliber of hotel.

The staff at this venue "made the stay". Nothing was too great an effort from the time we were picked up at the Railway station until we changed rooms to accommodate a late checkout for a long flight home to Australia. Stayed several times now, minutes from Legoland, nice beaches just up the road, out of the way of the bustle but still with a few eateries around. Never had a problem there. Pool is outdoors but is heated and towels, etc.. are readily available. Very nice for families to stay at.

Everything at the West Inn was great. I had business in Carslbad on a Monday morning so I cruised down on a Sunday night, choosing my hotel via Trip Advisor on the drive down. An overall pleasant experience, although upon waking up and going downstairs for the included breakfast I was a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of pajama-clad families […] filling the entire food service and dining area. It was packed and a total zoo, kids running everywhere, etc. Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with kids or families or anything of the sort, I just wasn't expecting to find so many in the breakfast area at 9am. Anyways, I opted out of breakfast and just grabbed a coffee. In short, my recommendation is that this is a great hotel for a quick business stay, but if you are young and without kids you might think twice about hanging out in the breakfast area or poolside as this place seems to be a little more family-oriented. We had picked this hotel based on good reviews on Tripadvisor and other sites. And the West Inn lived up to all of them. The staff was sooo helpful, courteous and nice. The amenities (milk & cookies; free breakfast; free happy hour; shuttle to LegoLand) were as good as promised. Definitely lived up to its excellent reputation.

We came to the San Diego area for a long President's weekend. Rooms were nice, clean, and modern. Staff was very pleasant and customer service driven. Free Milk and Cookies in the dining area from 8-9pm. Free buffet breakfast in the AM with plenty of seating and room for kids to play. It is also close to the ocean, restaurants, and nightlife. They also offered military discounts at the hotel!! The only thing I think they need to improve on is getting better shower heads. They have HUGE showers, but have these wimpy shower heads on them. I still got clean, but it took away from the luxurious look of the shower. Not a big deal, but just a small detail I noticed. Everything was better than expected. They even allowed us to check-in early, so i could set up my surprise for my girlfriend. The staff was so friendly and welcoming greeting us as soon as we stepped through the doors. Once we got in the room she fell in love with the beauty of the room to the extra comfortable bed. From the friendly, helpful staff to the amenities provided,nothing could be better - at any price. Best bed in a hotel, ever. The hotel was wonderful and we would return again. It is close to Lego Land and the beach. Rooms were extremely comfortable and the staff was wonderful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

I was quite amazed by what this hotel has to offer. My sister was running the Carlsbad Half marathon so this was a great location. The hotel is about two blocks from the 101 and the beach (just north of Terra Mar point). We were able to walk to the course and not worry about parking. One minor con, if you're picky, the location is in between the 5 freeway […] and the Coaster. Some people complain about the traffic noise and the trains passing by, but I didn't hear either at night. The Coaster usually ends by 6 pm, but the occasional freight train/Amtrak will pass through late. The amenities were endless! We stayed in the Double King Deluxe. Two king beds with pillow top mattresses and Egyptian-cotton linens! The bathrooms were stocked with Aveda products and replenished every day! The hotel is big on conservation, so it was nice to see the towels and sheets did not have to be washed every day. The breakfast bar was fantastic. Even though there are so many great places to eat breakfast, it was hard to imagine going elsewhere since it was free! They changed the hot items daily. There were eggs everyday, but the options rotated between bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, pancakes and more. Lots of pastries, muffins, bagels, toast, cereal, oatmeal, and fruit. One of the nights we brought take out back to the hotel and ate in the hotel dining room where there was a flat screen tv to watch the AFC championship football game. Every night at 8pm they serve milk and cookies. Also we were fortunate enough to be there on a Monday night and attended the adult social hour. Free beer and wine tastings!! We were also able to take a free shuttle to nearby legoland. I believe you are able to take this shuttle to all the nearby shops and attractions. The pool area was very nice. Well kept. Fresh towels on all the chairs. Magazines and water toys available. The pool was heated to a nice 82 degrees which felt great because the air temp was about 65. The jacuzzi was a great 102 degrees. I would love to tell you this place was terrible to keep it all to myself, but truth be told...it was wonderful. From the welcoming front desk, to the kind greetings every time you encounter an employee, this place has it all. Free shuttles anywhere in Carlsbad (tip the driver though, he is awesome!), free breakfast (good breakfast), and milk and cookies […] everynight! Very comfortable beds and top notch televisions.
