Not bad, stayed here during my visit to Coachella 2012. Place is just slightly above shabby, but rooms are huge and pools are open 24-hours. Fairly close to the highway; about half-hour from Coachella. Surrounding town is quiet, sleepy -- makes for a good getaway, which is what they're going for. Did not use the on-site facilities but they're all here: […] massages, facials, pedi/mani-cures, spa, sauna, etc. My only complaint was the presence of a single dead baby cockroach in the bathroom upon arrival, but I'm not too squeamish about that sort of thing personally. Did the job :)

I really love all the people who work at this hotel. They are all Earth angels, and the staff rarely turns over. You see the same faces each time, and they are all competent and friendly faces.

The Desert Hot Springs Spa Hotel was absolutely disgusting. I thought I would be able to handle a very out-of-date hotel without luxurious amenities or new decor, but our room lacked so much more than that. The smell was musty and unclean and the carpet felt like it was covered in a layer of something, but I was still willing to overlook this... Until […] we pulled back the sheet of the bed. There were small brown splotches near the top of the white sheet and the splotches got larger closer to the bottom of the bed. I really don't understand how a hotel could possibly overlook something like that. At that point, we had to leave. Their sister hotel (The Miracle Springs Spa Hotel) was only a parking lot away and was much better quality. It was clean, the lobby was nice (large, lighted, decorated; as opposed to the dingy little check-in room at the first hotel), and the people were extremely nice and accommodating to our situation. There were also a ton of jacuzzis, so we managed to get our own in the middle of the night (they were open 24 hours). I've been going to Miracle Springs Spa and Resort next door for the past 3 years, they're prices went up so we decided to stay at the Desert Hot Sprigs Spa Hotel...its okay but needs an upgrade. The entire place is old and run-down. Also, customer service needs an upgrade. The pools are fun and location is great. This hotel is rated pretty accurately. We were attending the BNP Paribas and I waited until the last minute to book a room so my options were limited, but overall this hotel was ok. The rooms weren't cleaned too well, but it wasn't terribly bad either. It just looked like a quick wipe job in the restroom, but the beds were comfortable and sheets appeared […] clean. I think I would give this hotel a 3 star rating. The building is very hotel and needs alot of maintenance but the view is nice behind it. There's not a whole lot of options of restaurants, but there's a few Mexican restaurants, chineses, and some other fast food but nothing great if you're a picky eater. The absolute best feature of this hotel are the pools. There are 8, of varying temperatures, one of which is an Olympic sized easy to get into pool. This is a discount property with a nice, large pool area in the center of the property. It feels very dated and could really benefit from numerous updates/upgrades. This is an older property that could use some TLC. The staff was great and it was pretty clean. If the owner would invest in improvements it COULD be a really nice place. Fortunately the price with hotels.com was great and the people were great too.

Best value in DHS. Amazing waters situated on an energy vortex, this spatel is pure bliss. Rejuvinattion at its finest. Thank you DHS Spa Hotel for the great times!

Friendly staff, not their fault. This is the very worst hotel I've stayed in. Disgusting bedding, broken filthy furniture. Hairs from the last guest in yellowed bathroom burn-holes in carpet. Broken, ancient TV they were unable to replace.

Although our hotel was built many years ago, we found our room to be very clean and neat. The food in the dining room was delicious. The sign that said Parking at Your Own Risk seemed to be a warning that it would be safer to park our car overnight in the front of the hotel, rather than the back of the hotel. An extremely windy area! Palm Srings OK but not Desert Hot Springs! & Pools great, but busy as Hotel rents use to Public for only $5 Well maintained Older property. We left some cloth in drawers of room, have called Hotel staff 3 X without any results! Staff seems untrustworthy!

the best thing about this hotel is about the pool. this hotel have 8 great and clean pools that u can enjoy them even in winter.

Don't look at reviews that are basing this hotel off a 5 star hotel. Look at the price, it's obviously a discount hotel. However, we were very surprised that our room was VERY clean and the beds were comfortable. I love this place! Staff was nice and pools are 24 hours. Lots of towels in the bathroom and we had a great view of the pools too!

We love it! Rooms are dated, but clean. The eight minerals pools and dry sauna are delightful and open 24 hrs to hotel guests, or just go for the day to enjoy the pools. I enjoy the spa pools on a regular basis but this was the first time I stayed the night. the rooms are very nice with excellent views of the pools and/or surrounding mountains. My bed was a bit hard and lumpy though, my only complaint. Hotel guests also have 24 hour access to the pools while day users must be out by 10pm. Make sure you go on a Friday night as the owners Daughters Husbands Cousin's Band will play (destroy) your all time favourite music until late, bring your kids along so they can play the drums for that extra special fun time! The hotel is old, so it is like stepping into the past, but this is a part of the charm of the place. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pools are GREAT, and this the point of staying here! The restaurant is good and reasonably priced. This place is a good value.

The front desk attendants were friendly and helpful....although the photos of this hotel were somewhat deceiving. The rooms are not well kept at all....dirty and worn down. We got to the hotel late, and checked out as soon as we could the following morning. Eventhou the reviews were pretty much correct I still decided to stay here for a weekend gateway. We stayed inside the room at night just to be safe. During the day the pool was awesome. This hotel was cheap but not cheap enough. If you are going for a day at the pool then is perfect just pay your $7 bucks and go!. Lots of kids and family time. The […] people that go there are pretty interesting, mostly truck drivers and drunk teenagers partying at night. There's 3 keys just to get into your room, that should tell you something. Bring your own towel. They are like sand paper and tinny. Also, the beds are very uncomfortable, is almost like sleeping on a rock. Stayed here for the Coachella Valley Music Festival. It was comfortable, but they never cleaned our room during our entire stay of 3 nights. The balcony on the back end of your rooms are awesome because they dont allow smoking in the room so if thats a big thing for you then id recommend it. its pretty far away like 24 miles, but completely managea […] ble. We booked through hotels.com and everything went smooth no extra hidden fees or anything. I loved the hotel and the staff supper friendly. The food was basically you get what you pay for but you have to wait a LONG time even when the restaurant wasn’t busy???. but this place was like its own little community. Before making a reservation at this hotel, I knew nothing about the area but thought that it couldn't be bad because it was close to palm springs. Wrong. The city has a very high crime rate which was very unsettling. As far as the hotel, it was old and in need of an overhaul. The chairs in the room were dirty as you could see dark stains on the arms. […] In the bathroom the water in the shower kept changing from very hot to cold and it seemed as if the hot and cold indicators were reversed. There were also large cracks in the caulk in the shower surround. The hotel was even lacking in the basics. There was no information in the room about the hotel, it's amenities or information about the surrounding area. Other basics missing included iron, ironing board, and hair dryer. I called and was able to get an iron and hair dryer but was told there were no ironing boards. The one bright spot was the fact that the bed was comfortable. Bad customer service and old rooms with a separate key for everything. They also still have an old TV and the bed was too hard and uncomfortable.

We came for the weekend, from Orange County, CA. The rooms were clean. Beds were okay. Older furniture, but comfortable. The pools were great, as well as the dry sauna. The hotel could use new beds but the spa pools are absolutely wonderful. There are a variety of temperatures and hotel guests can use them all night which is great. The restaurant is great and the bar and staff always accommodating. I always enjoy my stay though the beds could be upgraded.

Pools too scummy by night time and no stopping of people from smoking,and I personally saw many men come the sauna dripping with sweat and go straight into the pools without taking a shower,and in one pool I man was sneezing,something we can't really control, but most considerate people would and should leave the pool area,this guy after second sneeze […] put his head under the water in our pool and seemed to blow air out his nose putting millions of germs in the pool,I did leave that area,it's sad that no one tries to keep this a great place,it's going down hill fast, but the restaurant still is very good and nicely priced. It is not the fancist hotel, but it is comfortable, and the service is really great. Sweet front desk staff, and resturant staff. If you are looking for modern, and glitz, don't stay here. If you are looking for a fair deal and relazing mineral pools, stay here. the pools are wonderful, and that's the reason i visit. the rooms are 50's - 60's style and show little evidence of being updated. i will return next year.

For the price paid, It was a decent hotel. If you want first class amenities then go stay at a 5 star hotel. This was a fair deal.

We had very unpleasant experience during our stay, Firts of all the toilet didn't work, than shower was broken . There was no water. we called front desk and at 1am they fixed somehow.Still could't take shower, until next day, when they change showerhead. I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone.
