Really enjoyed our stay. We came hours before check-in time and they let us store out stuff in the office and use the pool and fridge to put our beers and even lend us a bottle opener. One never knows about a new place until you experience it, but this one rates the highest and was a real gift. Behind the gates that give such a sense of retreat and safety, the beauty and peace of this extraordinarily beautiful resort is stunning. There is no restaurant on site so we brought our food - there is a refrigerator and microwave. They served a nice continental breakfast. The staff were absolutely over the top to make our every request possible. We were there midweek and there were not so many people there, but the coming weekend was booked. We visited some of the other hot spring spas in the area and none of them came even close to this one. We felt so lucky to be staying there. The neighborhood is not that bad and it is easy to get to with lots of restaurants/stores nearby. I plan to go once a month for a healing retreat. I almost hesitate to tell you all about how wonderful it is because it may get so booked up, I won't be able to get my own reservation. But, this place deserves an excellent review. Our shower and toilet backed up late at night, the office was closed so we waited until the morning to contacted the office. The office staff plunged the toilet and shower and opened the spa for our shower use but only after we asked. It would have been nice to have been offered some kind of compensation but none was forthcoming. It was very quiet, luxurious, relaxing, clean and friendly. Breakfast was great. Our room was gorgeous, huge bathroom. Beautiful pool, hot tub, and even sauna. Views were great of the whole city and mountains. I loved the FIRE PIT!!! I wish there was a bar & restaurant in the hotel so we wouldn't have to drive several miles to the nearest restaurant. […] I was a little scared of the neighborhood when we first pulled up...There isn't much around for at least 2 miles. Drinks were allowed at the pool which was great, we went out for dinner came back and drank our own drinks by the pool & fire pit. Pool is open 24 hours a day. Parking was easy and gated. Woo! I waited to long to book a hotel for my vacation and ended up just randomly picking this place, but it was fantastic! More upscale than I was expecting and the rooms were large and spacious. The jacuzzi tub was excellent and the pool, hot tubs and sauna were great. My wife and I spent a very enjoyable three nights at the Bella Monte. The first day and a half was very Very windy - blowing sand and cold- so no use of the pool or spa. They have a perfect view of the valley and mountains, a photographers dream. The Inn appears to have been built in an earlier time (50s ?) and recently remodeled and updated. The room […] (#6) was modern and comfortable with a huge bath room with large spa tub and shower. It was much more than we expected from the site description and photos. When we did finally get to use the pool and spa they were heavenly. One comment mentioned thin walls. We didn't hear anything except through the open windows and the room next door was occupied. That said, the location is out of the way and as mentioned, in a residential area, although this is fairly common in Desert Hot Springs. For meals, the town doesn't offer many choices. We chose to eat nice lunches in Palm Springs and pick up take out food on our return to the hotel. The room had a DVD player so we caught up on several movies. They have a small DVD library and provided microwave popcorn as well. It's about 30 minutes into downtown Palm Springs where we met with several "snow bird" friends. If your intentions are to enjoy the many attractions in the area, this might not be for you. This is a newer, spotlessly clean, well-run resort in a strange location. The bed was very comfortable and the room nicely appointed. Staff is polite and helpful. The bath includes a spa tub with a piped-in hot spring water option in addition to regular hot water. The view across the desert of Mt. San Jacinto is breathtaking. There's a peaceful reading/entertainment […] room next to the office, too. The free wireless didn't quite reach our room and we couldn't get 3G but the hotel entertainment room has good wireless access and a desktop PC available for guests. The hotel is in the middle of an out-of-the-way residential neighborhood: lower-middle working class. The hotel grounds are gated and your in-and-out of the parking lot is with an electronic opener. We felt perfectly safe but there is no where to eat or shop nearby. The location is on the outskirts of Desert Hot Springs, a small military and desert dweller community whose main street looks to be suffering hard from the down economy. For couples in need of a getaway that don't mind a 15 minute drive to Palm Springs for dining, shopping, theaters, etc., the rooms are as lovely as at any resort in the upscale desert cities for less money. Although the hotel was located in a residential neighborhood, it was an oasis in the desert. Loved the beauty of the two inner courtyards complete with mineral hot tubs, a fire pit, a pool, & a sauna. Also loved the fact that the rooms opened up onto these courtyards. The only 2 things which were a negative for me is that the "free breakfast" was only a "snack" & our bathroom did not have a hair dryer. The hotel is very nice for the price. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit skeezy but once inside Bella Monte, you forget everything on the outside. Our room was wonderful, even had a jetted tub (for two). Only complaint about the room was that the tile floors weren't super clean. If you're interested in staying in and borrowing a DVD, be prepared for a small collection (about 30 or so), it may be better for you to bring your own entertainment. I booked a massage a few days prior to our arrival and confirmed that it was still scheduled when we did arrive. However, there was some miscommunication and my massage ended up being an hour and 15 min after I had originally scheduled it for. The massage itself was lovely and I received a discount but it seemed as if the spa services portion of the resort is not a priority. The pool and two hot tubs are nice and the kicker is the fire pit, a great way to hang out with a glass of wine in the desert night. There was a minifridge and a microwave in our room, which I wish we had known about before so that we could have brought a few snacks. We were greeted by a very warm and friendly young man who gave us nice tour of the facility. The place is warm, cozy and quaint. The hot tub is delightful. The coffee could be a little hotter but it was fine. We had a wonderful 2 nights there. Thanks

Pro's - very nice rooms and amenities. The staff was pleasant and helpful as well. A small but nice continental style breakfast. Cons - this place is quite out of the way. The only thing close is a small corner store. No restaurants are even close as you have to drive at least 10 minutes to find one. There is really nothing else close by either. Palm […] Springs is a good 15-20 minutes drive as is any other place. Very windy location as well. Depending on you wants and wishes this place may be for you or it might not. If you want a remote quiet location with nothing close by then this is for you as the resort and staff are quite nice. It is a very sweet place across the street from a run down apartment complex. The town has hit some hard times so the hot springs motels are about all they have. The hot tub soaks in mineral water were awesome. The walls are thin so bring ear plugs.

Bella Monte is a high end, unpretentious, mini-resort. The staff is INCREDIBLY courteous, but not over-the-top cheesy at all. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean. Nothing is extravagant, just very appropriate and comfortable. The pictures don't do the property justice, either. The views are spectacular...a very romantic place. No children […] there, either, so I would absolutely recommend Bella Monte to anyone looking for a quiet time in Desert Hot Springs. some of the best people work here with qualitys that most don't bring to work. this place is basically ran by its employes and they are some of the nicest people ever. check out was at noon. i just wanted to never leave so they saif stay a little longer. so we did. but only till 2 pm. i cleaned my room like i always do and said by. i love this place.... […] so very nice. This is a very relaxing place to stay, if you prefer quite and home like choice, we stayed there for 4 nights, we love it, only thing is wall has not insulated well, you can hear your neighbor, other then that, everything are perfect for us. lokkinf forward to going back.

This hotel was great. They were very low key and allowed us to be undisturbed. They worked around our schedule and even stayed up to let us check in late. The bed was so comfortable. This place is AH-MAZING!!! The rooms are great! the inroom jacuzzi was awesome! the natural mineral hot springs water worked wonders on my skin!! it was the best place for a romantic getaway! My husband and I stayed here for a quick overnight getaway. It is quite beautiful and very relaxing. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice little continental breakfast on Sunday - just enough. Our room was amazing. Jacuzzi tub with mineral water was awesome - as was the shower. Minor problem - there really isn't a shelf in the bathroom to […] hold your personal care kits - but as I said, minor issue. Grounds are beautiful, feel like you're in a whole different world, very peaceful and relaxing. Found the best Mexican restaurant EVER - South of the Border. Total Yum and very reasonable. This hotel describes itself as a spa - it is right in the middle of a residential area - very unattractive neighbourhood. It is not close to Joshua Tree national park - and there are no surrounding amenities or good restaurants. The only advantage was we were the ONLY people at the hotel - so had the place to ourselves

This hotel is in a very strange area. It's in the middle of a neighborhood, which I was told by local people isn't the safest town. This was fairly confirmed when I got there; there was an electric gate surrounding the parking lot. There was no note on the gate as to how to get in and after hearing that this neighborhood isn't great (and seeing myself […] that it's rather run-down), I didn't want to leave my car on the street and hope that the front gate was unlocked. I called the front desk and they told me to leave my car and come in to get a gate-opener key. Deb, the hotel manager was very friendly. She said it was a slow day so she chatted with me and took her time checking me in, which was ok. The pools and jacuzzi tubs are very pretty with a great view of the mountains and the wind turbine field nearby. However, they could have used a little more attention. The front fountain/spring pool had a plastic bag floating in it with quite a few fallen pieces of palm. The same with the jacuzzi I hopped in- quite a few leaves floating around. There also seemed to be sand on the seats. If you want to use the sauna, it's not on all the time, so you'd have to go out, turn it on, hang out for a while, then get in so it can warm up first. There were stray hairs that certainly weren't mine on the floor. The in-room jacuzzi pool that spouts hot spring water was very nice, but the jets seem to be growing some mold. The shower had a funky smell and a bug crawled out of the drain. The place is supposed to be equipped with WiFi, but it didn't work the entire night or day I was there even though the guy working there tried to fix it. That's ridiculously unhelpful when you need to use a computer and can't. The manager is supposed to be on duty 8am to 8pm but she skipped out at 5:30, nearly right after I got there, so I couldn't ask her to do something about the internet. Great Stay. Room was great and bed comfortable. Bathroom was awesome (tub with jets). DVD player so we were able to watch movies. Outside jacuzzi and pool was heated and clean. Staff was great, checked our room as soon as we checked out and caught is in the parking lot to give us an item we had left. Internet access so you can check emails and get driving […] directions. Breakfast included bagels, fresh strawberries, yogurt, oj, coffee, muffins and pastries. On Sunday they even had homemade crepes. The only small complaint is that they didn't provide enough small face towels. Oh the rooms had fridge and microwaves too. It is smack dead in the middle of a residential area and gated. Everything in the Palm springs, Palm desert, Indian Wells, Catherdal city, etc where booked. And luckily I got the last room at this resort. I would definetly stay here again. The area it's in is ok, out in the middle of nowhere, however, close to the areas mentioned above. The room was fantastic, the whole resort was very nice. Loved it!!!!

The hotel itself exceeded my expectations. The rooms were amazing. Of course you go to a place like this for relaxation and to get away. It had a nice pool to swim, and two large natural hot springs spas to relax in. The sauna room looked nice but we did not use it. The landscaping was very well done with a desert plants. My only complaint is that it's located in a ghetto residential neighborhood. That surprised me. However, the small hotel is completely gated in. Decided to look for a nic getaway in the Coachella Valley at one of the many Desert Hot Springs resorts. Saw pictures and read reviews of Bella Monte. Thought the price was right for a holiday weekend and it looked nice enough. Wow did I under sell it! The place was it's own hidden jewel. You literally felt like you were in your own little world. The […] upkeep an beauty of the place was 5 star. The cleanliness and style was of a real home, with the tile floors, decorative art, 32" flat screen tv's, and most of all ... jet bath tub! The resort is adult only and only 24 rooms. It is very quiet, very private, and the staff was amazing. I made the mistake of ordering a room with two beds, so they fixed MY mistake and upgraded my room! They made a customer in the future. They also had a great breakfast in the morning. I'm conflicted on the review I want to give for this hotel. I needed to go to Palm Springs for softball, as I usually do 3 to 4 times a year in Cathederal City. I hate staying in cheap hotel rooms and most all of the ones in Cathederal City were all booked that weekend, so I decided to look for hotels near by. Most of the ones I viewed were not very […] appealing and I wanted to make sure I found a place that was nice and comfortable. I came across this hotel and decided to give a shot because of the great pictures they posted and ammenities. I live in San Diego so I drove out to this hotel using my GPS. Wow, it's way off the freeway and in a lower income residental area. You start to think your in the wrong place, but your not. I hated it before I even parked my car. Having said all that, it's the only bad thing I have to say about this place. This place is completely gated and makes you feel pretty safe. Once I got inside I was greeted by friendly staff and shown to my room. The room was very beautiful and the jetted tub was a big plus. Very comfortable and quiet stay. Eager to please staff. Great pool and jacuzzi with just one recommendation. Keep pool area swept and less will wind up in the pools. A very minor detail. We will be returning to enjoy again!

While searching for our gettaway, we kept finding the same problem: tourists, kids, and noise. We had in mind what we wanted, but were beginning to wonder if it even existed. After searching online for over an hour, we stumbled upon this little Hot-Spot! After reading reviews, and all the descriptions, we realize "This is it!" To our surprise, "It" […] is beyond what we expected! From the moment you walk in you are care-for by this wonderful staff, that's personable, and genuinely concerned for your experience to be an absolute delight. Everyone we spoke with, we got to know on a first-name basis, and they always asked if there's anything they can do to improve, what already seemed perfect! The spa, sauna, pool, the fire at night under the stars, the two jacuzzis, plus one in your bathroom, and the soft-music in the background caused our rich-relaxation to sink-in deeply!
