The hotel was nice and in a great location. The service could be a little better. When they say check in is at 4pm, they mean "no earlier". We got into Miami at 11am and hoping they could clean a room for us and get us in after lunch was a little too much to ask. We sat in a lounge for 5 hours waiting for a room to open up. The hotel itself was nice. The front desk clerk was just rude and had no customer service skills. My husband and I clearly were from out of town and had never been there before and she was just very short with us. Hotel room was clean , bed was comfotable ,could upgrade bath tub and tile, staff was nice , they should be a bit more considerate of check out after 12pm ($100 fee for every hour after) Great location

Ocean Dr, just across the the street from the beach; great location. No need for a car; walk, bike everywhere. Complimentary light breakfast adequate. Beach needs as towels, chaise, umbrella available on beach without extra charge. Roof top pool very nice. All staff friendly & helpful. The service of the bellboy was awesome. The hotel was not very clean. My friends had cockroaches in their room. very small. We had 4 people & paid for the extra person fees..but room is too small for 4 people. Give us a couch for 2 people that is very small. & only gave us towels for 2 people. Some friends and I had 3 hotel rooms for two nights. The hotel is in a perfect location and the staff is very friendly but we had cockroaches in all 3 rooms! ewwwe. Also beware of the giant drinks at the hotel breakfast restaurant, they are such a scam and the waitstaff is rude and doesn't care.

I had read several comments that weren't flattering but we decided to reserve regardless. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. The only issue I had is the suite was supposed to sleep four, it slept three with a king bed and a small futon. We were there one night as part of a trip so it was fine but would be uncomfortable for a week.

I reserved a room for New Years Eve for my son and his college friends to get the whole South Beach/New Years Eve experience. The hotel was in a great location and since we live in Pinecrest, about 25 minutes from the beach, I was familiar with the location. The boys were upgraded to a Deluxe suite with a balcony over looking Ocean Drive. The only negative […] was the night desk clerk who was rude when the boys explained the key to the suite did not work, he called security on them, but than the security guard told the boys not to worry the "clerk" has issues with everyone and than showed the boys how to use the key. We enjoyed the location very much. Rooms should be checked prior to check in, as we had to ask for more towels, ice bucket, and blankets. All in all it was a nice stay. Pleasant staff. Thanks.

decent hotel in a great location. Kudos for the added touch of seemlessly providing beachside umbrella, chairs, towels etc. Only downside - just beware of the resort fee and accompanying taxes....was not included in the overall cost. Enjoyed my stay though.

in the hotel there was screaming ,singing,loud partying all night long,impossible to sleep;the pull out sofa was uncomfortable ,not a hotel where you can rest.It is across the street from the beach and they provide chairs and towels for a fee

Located on Ocean Drive, its in the middle of lot's of late night action on weekends. We could hear partying going till 4 AM, but it was Saturday night and it didn't wake us up, we just heard it when we went to the restroom.

The hotel is located well in the south beach area but is really overpriced for what it offers . There is no real sense that you are staying in a hotel. no real front desk or lobby entrance more like a Motel. Surprisingly one of the better boutique SoBe hotels. I've stayed at much worse before. Pros: Great location, cool room decor, decent price, right by the beach, breakfast was good, kitchenette was helpful, rooftop balcony was nice. Cons: Service - had to call several times to get requested items, like ice or towels. The hotel is in 3 or 4 different […] buildings and lobby area was not prominent so it was hard to find on the street. No view from any of the balconies and the keys were weird. I lucked out on a huge room facing Ocean Drive but the noise at night almost ruined the experience. The staff was helpful and the location was perfect.

Stayed in Room 307 and the room was run down with a moldy smell from the carpets and mold on the walls. I will not stay at this hotel again. I stayed at the Clevelander next door last year and even though the room was small it was super clean and obviously maintained.

Nice clean average hotel for a reasonable price considering how centrally located it is and close to everything,also right across from the beach.

It is located in a very noisy neighborhood, very difficult to sleep until 2/3 a.m.

The Congress is in a great location. The best rooms are the ones in the same building as the main lobby, and that's the one I stayed in. The room is sizable and has pleasant amenities. The only complaint I can make about the room is the bed, which was somewhat lumpy, and sagged in the middle. The mattress itself is a pretty basic cheap mattress. No […] pillowtop or padding to speak of. The sheets weren't very good quality, and kept slipping off the mattress in the middle of the night. The pillows were about standard, but nothing spectacular. hates it. hidden charges and we got a very bad first impression from the location of lobby. price is already expensive so we thought it'd be good, but if you wanna spend time in miami beach and not really in a hotel room then dont go for this. room is good but whats the point!

Probably among the friendliest staff of any hotel stay, and I travel a lot. My only disaapointment with the hotel is the services. No housekeeping till very late in the day when I was back from work, and they shut down the elevators for an entire day to paint the tiny waiting areas. Room was huge, Jr Suite, but showering is a big tub with a curtain […] that was not very functional. The best part of the stay was the staff who were all very friendly and anxious to talk to you. It was very nice to be across the street from the beach and in the middle of everything on the strip. I would recommend that everyone stay there at least once, just for the experience. My wife and I have stayed in South Beach several times over the past year, trying different locations each time. By far, this is the best hotel we've stayed at based upon location (central to Everything) and room amenities (esp. kitchen and bath/shower). The room we got was NOT the type we reserved which irritated me at first. Also, we were inundated […] by bad Top-40 music and kitchen noises from the restaurant next door. Nevertheless, the room itself was superb. For those looking to save money by cooking/reheating your own food (ala extended stay) then this is THE place to be since Whole Foods is a 5-10 minute walk away. The "resort fee" includes lounge chair service on the beach (normally $10) and $5.75 credit for breakfast so you actually save $$$ if you "work" all the freebies. Front desk staff always seemed aloof and cold which irritated me more. (...concierge guys were real courteous, though). Overall, I recommend Congress (rooms, location) but beware of the noise...! The Congress Hotel was a nice place to stay, centrally located on Ocean Drive. The Tropical building of the hotel was a better location, closer to Versace's place and not near the noisy Clevelander Hotel. The complimentary breakfast at the Kitchen was nice, but this is part of the extra fees tacked on for staying there. Other extras are for beach chairs […] and umbrella. This was an amazing stay just because it was in front the beach, also it was party central. If you don't like noise them this is not your place because there is a lounge type of club around the corner and people walking and yelling until the club closes. I was upgrade to that room, it spacious, and other good things. But felt the room was kind of dirty […] especially the sheets and that just grossed me out. The hotel was not what we expected but it wasn't so bad either. The room was a bit smaller than how it is shown in the web page. This is a good hotel for a night stay no longer than that because the pool is really small and they don't have much attractions around the hotel. Overall is a good hotel

I love, love this hotel! We had a junior suite in the "retro" section. It was very clean and LARGE! It had a kitchen with small stove, dishwasher, dishes, etc. We had a balcony with partial ocean view. Our bathroom had the most wonderful rain shower! We were in the heart of South Beach "party zone" nightlife bars...which ended up being pretty crazy […] since we were there during the NBA finals games during the last night. Our hotel fees included cabana services at the beach across the street. We did have a $12.50 per person fee for "resort fees", but the pool was awesome when we used it and the view was amazing. Stayed at this hotel for part of our honeymoon vacation and we were not disappointed. The hotel is extremely well located on Ocean Drive with all amenities within close walking distance. The hotel itself is an attractive Art Deco style building and the interiors are modern and well appointed. The room was one of my wife's favourites and again, it was […] well appointed and modern wih a small kitchen (including dishwasher). The bed was very comfortable and clean. The only gripe we had was the parking situation. Being on Ocean Drive we struggled to find a spot to park, with everything being metered. The meters run from early in the morning to 3am every day, however the hotel offers a valet parking service, approximately $35 a night, which could proved quite costly depending on your stay. This is a beautiful place with a European decor great for newlyweds or just a great get away hotel right in the middle of everything on Ocean dr ,south beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotels include breakfast in a double cabana right on the beach. Will definitely be staying there again!

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accomodations delivered at a very fair price and in a great location. The hotel's location is very good and it has great access to the beach. However, the customer service was less than spectacular and we were not impressed with the cleanliness of our room. I certainly won't stay there again, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to any friends or colleagues.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in Miami Beach, EXCELLENT location, walking distance from nice bars and restaurants and the rooms are very very comfortable, however, the service is terrible. They made us wait for hours and hours, seem to be understaffed, mixed up our check-out, and added a bunch of charges that were not included in our internet fee […] and couldn't be eliminated. Good hotel, close to everything. Room was very nice with the exception of the couch, it was stained and filthy. i would have complained, but I wasn't using it! They need to get it cleaned. Otherwise, cool place, breakfast was great and I enjoyed the stay.

This is a great hotel, but trust your instincts on the reviews. Beach chairs daily, restaurants everywhere, and fun roof top pool. If you want to stay up late, then this is perfect! If you don't want to hear the boom-boom of the next door night club...go else where. All the doors are on the outside of the building... hence the noise. We didn't have […] shampoo, asked for it multiple times, and finally received on the 5th day when we were showering to go to the airport. This is one example of the service. The rooms were nice, but when we laid down on the bed, you could smell the BO of whoever had been there before us. There is NO matress pad. Just the sheet and the matress. Only two towels per day in the room, so you might have to ask for more when you check in. If you really need something, I suggest going to the front desk instead of calling. Saturday - Thursday stay. We were in the main building (4th floor) right by the elevator and there was no significant late night or early morning noise. Pool was lovely. There is an additional daily per person charge upon arrival (includes internet, breakfast - $5.75 value, and beach umbrella/chair).

If you want a hotel thats in the middle of the party then look no further!!! If you just want to sleep, go elsewhere. The noise started to wind down around 5am. The hotel is walking distance to Lincoln Ave etc... My room was nice, if i wanted to be critical i would mention the stains on the carpet and couch (why white?). Nicely located, but much too noisy. We did not get a decent nights sleep on any night. People in the hotel screaming and partying and hotel staff doing nothing about it. Outdoor noise also, but this can be tolerated and we actually do like some liveliness in the entertainment district... that is why we chose this hotel. But man oh man, the fact that […] people were just carrying on every night till 4 in the morning and the hotel staff was oblivious to it, is just plain bad. Room was very nice and updated, however smelled moldy. Pool area was so/so. I think that we have come to expect this in southbeach. We have stayed elsewhere that was more expensive and about the same. And finally... I have to say that the hotel staff was generally indifferent.. disinterested in being helpful. I tip well, and was truly disappointed except for the fellow that found us a cab on the last day. Here is a message to all hotel staff ... if you don't like people, choose another career. Would have liked a "heads up" on the noise factor! It wasn't supposed to be spring break yet, but the party went on all night, not just laughing, etc., but a lot more of the slamming, crashing, and screaming, type sounds, hahaha!! Unfortunately I was there to run the 13.1 Miami Beach half marathon the next morning and could have used more than 2 hours […] of sleep, but we laughed it off and realized it was our mistake for not investigating it on our own before hand. So FYI we stayed here on March 6th! If we were there to party I would say this is the PERFECT place to stay...right in the mix, friendly staff, pretty clean (Maybe a white sofa and chair were a bad call since the stains were very obvious). You can't get closer to the beach or the fun! They were great about letting us leave our bags after checkout so we could do some more walking on the beach and stretch our stay out a little longer. I should mention, I went there during spring break and that must have accounted for about 90% of the noise. And it does not help that the hotel is located next to an extremely loud hotel/bar/spring break hangout spot called the Clevelander. Seriously, the place blasts its music from 10am-5am nonstop. Pros: -The room is very spacious, we got the Junior […] Suite at an affordable rate and it came equipped with a kitchen (it even had forks and plates!) and a full refrigerator. -It is in the middle of everything to do in South Beach, everything is a walkable distance from the hotel. -Right across the street from the beach. -A rooftop pool that was open 24 hours! Cons: -Noisy!! It was pretty difficult to sleep some nights. -The service was pretty bad, every time we asked for towels they were "being cleaned." -The rooftop pool is located on top of the middle hotel and we were situated on the left hotel. Whenever we left the pool we had to go through the crowd of people wrapped in our towels. Side Note: -They charge a "daily resort fee" when you get there. It includes breakfast at the local restaurant (which was decent), free towel service (or lack thereof), and free beach chair service across the street. IMO it was worth it anyway, but it's something that is not specified. Conclusion: If you're looking to be in the middle of all the action while having an ample accommodation, this is the place for you.
