Very clean and nice hotel, in a quiet village, very close to the Malpensa airport. If you are between planes it's ideal. I have only one complaint - about the free shuttle to the airport. It doesn't say on the internet adv that the shuttle works only between 8 to 10 am and 6 to 11 pm. The airport is only 1,5 km but if you take a taxi you'll pay 15 euro one way. Nobody will tell you that you can get there for free, just take the bus that goes from terminal 1 to terminal 2 and get out at the stop named Case Nuove, than 10 min walk and you're there.

"Fantastic food in a quiet mysterios atmosphere"
The restaurant was really the highlight of our trip. Amazing food. really great. The Hotel is in the middle of a big garden,very nice atmosphere and quiet. At the time we were there(early August) there were not many guests and mostly the rooms were empty, we really enjoyed the quiet mysterios atmosphere of the hotel and the garden.

"The Boscolo Hotel Prro Pierlli"
The service was great especially breakfast. The grounds / fountains are beautiful maintained with a small cozy chapel. Front desk went above and beyond. Internet is slow on the computer, however wifi is available in the lobby. The local resturant is the best kept secret. Amazing food and wine with a different region of Italy offered each month.
"AVOID - RUN DOWN"
BOSCOLO HOTEL CHAIN should be ashamed to have this hotel on their books - perhaps they should do a surprise visit. Let's start at the gate. Lawns not mowed. Rubbish piled up at back of building - higher then the building and noticable from the road. Swimming pool green (this is in July). Outside chairs above pool area rotten. Weeds everywhere -"parklike" […] grounds are run down. Garaging not secure - CCTV not on in reception. Bare wires exposed outside in a number of locations. Sagging carpets. non professional staff. The same breakfast food was put out each day - all stale and inedible. Yogurts, cheeses, meats were warm at 8.00am and then sat for 2 more hours before being refrigerated overnight for the next day. Rolls were harder each day. The slice of half a cake I had on day one was really bad, but on day 2 and 3 the same cake was being offered. Damaged walls in numerous places. A bedroom with only half the lights and power sockets working. an airconditioning unit that had a continous bang throughout the building every minute. a fridge that didn't work (neither did the staff for that matter - they just lounged around rather than improve anything). a manager that obviously doesn't know how to manage and upkeep a motel. perhaps others knew this. a huge complex that could be really great but only 3 to 4 guests each night. no wonder this place is getting more bad reviews this year than any other. What a shame..... Families avoid - too many dangers for children here. Business avoid - this place certainly wouldn't leave a good impression to hold a conference at. "pros and cons"
pros: Great rooms, large and clean with insteresting eclectic deco with contemporary baths and indonesian furniture. We had three rooms, all different sizewise as well as view: one rooftop, one bamboo garden and one courtyard. Rate was a steal. Building and garden with old Italian atmosphere was beautiful. cons: The carpeting on public areas needs to […] be redone! Front desk nonchallant. Flowers in hotel vases well past their day. Service in the restaurant was extremely slow. There was one man in restaurant when 6 of us arrived. And only one waiter who totally ignored us so we selected our own tables. Took a while to get menus and I got a winelist instead. It took a full hour until we were served the appetizer. The waiter argued with one of us about her order. Very spacious rooms. Had a great stay at this hotel and I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this region of Italy. Great value for your money.

I may say that this hotel was better than expected. It was a real italian chateu previously owned by the tire-company Pirelli. If you want a calm time with outstanding food (guide Michelin recommended)in a really nice restaurant, really nice surroundings and a kind of "spooky" stay, this is it. The fridge at the room was unfortantly not on, and the […] breakfast was really good but not included. But overall, everything was really really good for a tipical 25years old zouple like us that just wanted a nice and relaxing time. Wundervolle Villa in schönem Park. Eigenartigerweise wurde ein großer Teil des Parks durch ein abgrundtief hässliches Parkhaus verschandelt.

"Zwischen den Seen"
Das Hotel liegt perfekt zwischen Lago Maggiore, Comer See und Luganer See. Für Ausflüge ist es bestens geeignet. Kleines Manko ist, dass es kaum bis keine Restaurants/Bars in der Nähe gibt und man dafür ein Auto benötigt. 'Italienischer Charme' (kleine Renovierungsarbeiten) ist in den Hotelzimmern zu sehen, aber nicht störend. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön […] und beim Frühstück gibt es auch nichts auszusetzen. "ruhige Lage, etwas runtergekommen, aber schön"
Schönes altes Herrenhaus, leider außen etwas zu wenig gepflegt. Aber die Zimmer sind ausreichend sauber, so das man sich wohl fühlt. Im August sind leider die Hotel Bar und das Restaurant geschlossen, wie aber überall in den nicht extrem touristischen Bereichen der Region. L'hotel n'est pas facile à trouver. un bon gps est conseillé. Nous avons manger au restaurant et la nourriture était excellente. nous avons eu un soucis avec la machine a café qui a été résolu le même jour. la chambre est grande et tout confort. les environs de l'hôtel sont splendides.
Cet hotel est agréable; mais il est faux d'indiquer qu'il se situe à 19 Km de Lugano; la distance est de 37 Km que l'on parcoure en 45 minutes.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön. Es herrscht eine spezielle Atmosphäre.die Zimmer sind sauber und sehr komfortabel. Nach Varese sind es ca. 5 km und nach Mendrisio ca. 30 km. Seh zu empfehlen diese wunderschöne Hotel!!!!

Excellent location, extremely charming hotel and decent rooms, but we could not manage to get a single bite to eat..! We arrived in the early evening and were told that the restaurant opened at 7.30 pm. However, when we showed we were told that the it was fully booked despite the hotel being practically empty. "Nicht gerade im Zentrum gelegen"
Das Hotel sieht schön aus, ist aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Frühstücksbuffet war ziemlich reichhaltig aber sehr knapp bemessen. Insbesondere Brot musste immer nachgefragt werden.

Dejligt hotel i smukke omgivelser. Ligger tæt på på Schweiz såfremt man har lyst til en udflugt. Hotellet kan og vil blive anbefalet.

"Zentral zwischen den oberitalienischen Seen"
Die Einrichtung des Hotels ist gehoben, das gebuchte Zimmer war ein Standard-Zimmer. Obwohl wir vorher unser Baby nicht mit angemeldet hatten, war das Zimmer groß genug unser mitgebrachtes Reisebett unterzubringen. Der Kühlschrank der Minibar funktionierte nicht, sonst keine Beanstandungen im Zimmer. Das Zimmer bzw. Badezimmer (Dusche) war sehr geschmackvoll […] eingerichtet. Roomservice mit Abendservice (plus Lindt-Schokoladenkugeln). Insgesamt eine sehr schön renovierte Villa, leider im Detail nicht liebevoll gepflegt (Teppich im Eingangsbereich mit größeren Flecken, Stufen im hoteleigenen Park kaputt, ...). Das Frühstücksbuffet war tagesabhängig nur rudimentär vorhanden (es fehlte z.T. Saft, Semmeln, Toast, Käse, Wurst, Eier, Speck). Wenn Personal vorbeikam, waren die Kellner zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit und stockten das Buffet wieder auf oder berücksichtigten unsere Wünsche. Das Abendessen in dem zu unserem Reisezeitpunkt einzig geöffnetem Restaurant war geschmacklich nicht gut (sowohl der Wein, als auch erster und zweiter Gang, selbst Grappa waren eine Enttäuschung) und dafür zu teuer, das Ambiente hätte mit geeigneterer Musik stilvoller sein können. Die Übernachtung war bei hotels.com drei Wochen vor dem Buchungszeitraum um ca. 30 % günstiger als auf der hoteleigenen Homepage. Die Lage des Hotels bietet sich für Tagesausflüge an, um die verschiedenen oberitalienischen Seen (Lago Maggiore, Comer See, Lago di Varese ...) zu besuchen, eventuell auch nach Mailand etc. Allerdings liegt das Hotel außerhalb von Varese, die unmittelbare Umgebung bietet sich eher nicht für idyllische Spaziergänge an. Das Hotel ist von aussen wunderschön, allerdings ohne Aussicht. Die Zimmer sind jedoch wenig authentisch renoviert mit unmöglich, billigen Duschkabinen und Steingut ausgestattet (Wasser aber satt). "Hôtel Porro Pirreli, situation idéale"
Très bon acceuil, chambre impéccable, confortable, très bel hôtel offrant de très bonnes prestations. Ce dernier est très bien situé pour visiter l'italie du nord (proximité lac de côme et lac majeur). Pleinement satisfait.

Das Hotel hat seine besten Zeiten hinter sich. Ein ehemals tolles Gebäude ziemlich heruntergekommen. Trotz Hauptreisezeit (Mitte August) mehr Personal als Gäste, fast schon ein Geisterhaus. Jeder Service kostet extra, angefangen vom Internet, über Parkhaus etc.. nur bedingt zu empfehlen!

Quelques reproches... Le bruit des voitures de l'extérieur, le parking payant, le prix un peu élevé du petit dej. Nous avons eu un problème la deuxième nuit avec la porte qui faisait beaucoup de bruit, et le personnel n'a pas voulu nous changer de chambre malgré que l'hôtel soit quasi vide.
