A very nice stay. Large rooms, nicely decorated with cute names for each room. The staff was friendly and informative about the history of the Inn, the surrounding town and the local vineyards. There is plenty to see within an easy walk from the Inn.

It is hard to find a hotel that will allow a 1-night stay but Cheshire Cat, a pretty 2-story b n b, more than met our needs. We were greeted with an upgraded room on the 2nd floor which was cozy but certainly adequate. Loved the green colors in The Mad Hatters room. Our Innkeeper was so pleasant which started us on a good note. Loved the early evening […] hors d;ouevres and wine with the other guests by the fireplace. Good onsite parking. The location is great, the BNB is ok. They have some interesting room options but it is a little in te expensive side for what you get. We were in a cottage with a fireplace but the fireplace did not work. The paper towels were not replaced nor were the bathroom towels. It felt a bit campy.

Absolutly nothing to complain about. Room, service, staff friendliness and helpfulness, all excellent. We will hope that it is available next time we go to Santa Barbara. Very clean and comfortable.

We really enjoyed our short stay. Absolutely ideal location for a short walk downtown. Parking and reception made this very easy and welcoming b&b. We especially enjoyed wine and nibbles when we arrived. Great home cooking!! Would definately recommend.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chesire Cat. The room, though small, was very comfortable. The food was good and the setting very relaxing. The patio and gardens were serene and an enjoyment for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would go back for sure. Wow, what a wonderful Bed n Breakfast. The breakfast served on the beautiful patio was amazing! The gardens are to die for. What a wonderful place to stay :) so charming!

We stayed at the Cheshire Cat Inn for our Honeymoon and really loved it. Everything was perfect. We've also recommended it to some friends of ours.

My wife and I stayed in the Jean's Suite at the Cheshire Catt Inn for a weekend in October 2011 and had a wonderful time. The innkeeper was very kind to allow us to check in late on a Friday and check out late the following Sunday. The mattress and pillows were a little too firm for my taste, but other than that the room was very clean and well-appointed. […] The morning breakfast and the afternoon wine tasting/hors d'oeuvres were wonderful. This inn has got a special ambience - you feel like Alice in Wonderland! We liked the style, service, quality of beds and towels. Breakfast was good.

This is a quaint bed and breakfast inn with beautiful grounds and close to Santa Barbara's main drag (State Street). The rooms are beautifully decorated in Victorian furnishings and the service was very friendly and welcoming. Can't say anything negative. The breakfast was much more than I expected---beyond a simple continental one. Great location---comfortable, and fairly quiet. (a little traffic noise from a couple of the rooms) Clean and comfortable.

This was a homey, quaint B&B. The staff were attentive & accommodating. The location is within walking distance to a variety of shops. Because things close down early this is the perfect place for those who want to destress & breathe. Going back next year!

Location is great to stroll down State Street to the Museum, gardens, shops, and the electric car to the beach. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Loved the Cheshire Cat. Nice friendly people, room perhaps a bit small (they vary) but the breakfast quiche was the best I ever tasted. The house is so well presented that it is a must-see itself.

People who work there are nice and friendly, including the owner. Check-in was very fast once you got in the front door which is locked. This is good to prevent people wandering in. Location is perfect, one block off State St. and a short walk to downtown Santa Barbara. We walked to dinner at Bouchon. The short distance was perfect to walk off the […] wine from the various tasting rooms. The inn has daily breakfast, continental on weekdays and full breakfast on weekends. I actually preferred the continental as it offered more choices and was probably healthier. The cream cheese stuffed french toast with a nut sauce on top was really good on Saturday morning but was a bit rich for me. You can usually tell a good place by the coffee they serve...coffee was premium here! Wine and appetizers at 5pm each day.....very nice!! Bathrooms in all the main house units were nice but seemed pieced together. The vanity sinks were close by the bathroom but out in the bedroom part of the room. The allure of old homes? I was ok with the bathroom but those expecting modern, sleek, well laid out....you will have problems. My biggest complaint would be the bed. Great place for a get-away weekend. Staff were friendly, personable and accommodating. The location is walking distance to many fine restaurants on State Street. Able to meet new people also staying at the B&B. Very relaxing! Will definitely return.

Very nice B&B close to State Street. Main building from dating back ca. 1880, nicely renovated, good atmosphere and nice staff. Rooms do differ in size and decor so spend some time choosing whar you prefer

We did the reservantion through Hotels.com and unfortunately did not realize our room was very small and had not TV. Bathromm was also too small that sink was located inside the room so I had to wait till my wife woke up to use the sink and shave.

At my current rate of income, it will cost me more to write this review than I paid for the room. Therefore, never before have I left a review for any hotel, motel, or B&B. Well here's one that is worthy of my time. The folks here are just a sweet as pie. Almost makes me want to buy a place next door so we can be neighbors. And the attention to detail... […] amazing. Keep looking around, and you will spot something you didn't notice before. Clean, gracious, polite, respectful, and the list goes on. The Cheshire Cat Inn is a beautiful B and B in Santa Barbara that surpassed our expectations! Imagine sitting and having breakfast in a charming window seat within a turret and watching hummingbirds feed on a flowering tree 3 feet away from you. Then watching the same birds rest on a branch so you can actually study them! The grounds are breathtaking. […] The gardens had many varienties of roses and a plethora of other flowers, which were in vases throughout the house. There was an outdoor spa, which was never expected, set in a gazebo. Happy hour was hors d'oeuvres and local wine. The view from our room was a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. The decor of our room- Alices Room- was feminine without being over the top. All the nick-nacks in the house were related to "Alice in Wonderland" as was much of the artwork. A charming little B&B with comfortable rooms, great ambience, and immaculate gardens. The afternoon wine and appetizers were a perfect way to unwind after a day of travel or activities. Breakfast on the patio was the ideal start. Walking distance to downtown and State St restaurants. We will be back as soon as we can!

Close to downtown activities and within a lovely neighborhood. Loads of charm and comfort, beautiful breakfasts on the patio surrounded by flowers and trees. Helpful and attentive staff. A definite plan to return to this B&B.

We had a wonderful stay. The grounds and facility were very pleasant. We would certainly stay again. The breakfasts were delicious and the lady cooking and serving was very nice. Happy hour was a nice touch.

We stayed in one of the cottages across the street from the main hotel and it was perfect for the family. We had a two bedroom cottage with a full kitchen and private spa on the back patio. Wish we could have stayed longer. We had very little interaction with the staff due to our late check-in and only one night stay, so we can't really speak to the […] service. The B&B was branded as a themed property. We stayed in"The Doormouse" and found no doormouse or any mouse theme. Flowery wallpaper with some statues of cats in the room.The room was extremely small with barely enough room to walk around the bed. While the room was booked for 2 people there was only 1 chair in the room. While the bed was comfortable […] the room was not. Breakfast was included in our booking. This took place on the patio. When we arrived all tables were full and the only people serving were the owner and 1 other. This was obviously not enough as when a table became available we had to clean it and look for cups plates etc. We asked the for them but she then took a call on her cell phone and left us to find them ourselves. This place was not what we expected from a B&B, which should be personal attention. However it's quirkyness might suit some others. Fantastic stay. We stayed in the Caterpillar Room which was very pink. Worth the extra $$ to get a terrace which overlooks the garden. We had high expectations based on the other reviews and they were all met. My wife and I are not generally big fans of B&Bs because we vacation so rarely that we like to spend more time talking together than with everyone […] else. I know slightly anti-social. But we found the owners very willing to chat when we wanted to very willing to leave us alone as well. Jacuzzi/garden was really well maintained. What a great little place to stay! It is super close to State St and many restaurants. You can't beat it's location. The Inn is far better in person than pictures show. It's charm is evident in the Alice in Wonderland theme that recurs throughout the grounds. Our room, Mad Hatter, had everything we needed. The staff was wonderful and incredibly helpful. […] They booked us dinner reservations nearby and were very knowledgeable about the area. We had a great time thanks to them. The price was great too. Jättetrevligt hotell, bra bemötande, rent och snyggt. Trevlig och personlig atmosfär. Bra frukost. Lugn omgivning. Återvänder mycket gärna till detta hotell, kändes som att komma hem.

Prachtige plek, tuin vol met bloemen en heel mooi huis! Erg gezellig ingericht en alles is uitermate verzorgd. Ook de wijn met hapjes eind van de dag en het ontbijt waren prima! Op loopafstand van een leuke winkelstraat met een uitstekend restaurant: Opal. Dit B&B is een echte aanrader en rustig gelegen (wel enkel glas).
