They were very helpful and the free breakfast quite good and the rooms were clean but the carpet was showing a bit of wear

Enjoyed my stay. I was pleasantly suprised with the breakfast that was included in the pricing of the room.

The hotel has an open air design. The rooms are somewhat noisy at times.

This hotel was very clean with large rooms. Very close to the beach and other attractions.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the hotel and rooms in the condition that is clean. My son even commented that I booked in a nice hotel. It offered nice clean room, nice service, free hot breakfast, free parking, free internet for a reasonable price. This is probably the 6th or 8th stay here. The staff is always friendly and accomodating (I sometimes need early check ins). The parking is free, wifi is free, breakfast and evening wine/snack is good. Can't beat the value here! This is my top stay whenever I come to Manhattan Beach! highlly recommend this hotel! Will definatley be back again.

Good bang for the buck. I liked this hotel and would stay here again if coming back to this area. Negatives were mild disinfectant smell in lobby, rooms have a window into the interior of the hotel which only have shutters no curtains so it was not possible to get the room completely pitch black for sleeping.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Great rooms, great underground parking and Superb service.

I stayed here overnight with my husband and three kids while visiting the South Bay. Parking was free and ample. The grounds were clean and secure (I even noticed a camera in the elevator). Our suite had plenty of room for all of us, plus a kitchen, living room area and work desk (with free wifi). I lived in this area for many years before moving back east and drove past the property every day not cowing what a value it is...I will sat here on all my future trips back to LA

They were nice enough to "upgrade" our room to a 1 bdr suite but when we walked in, the place was dark and not clean. There was no attention to detail by housekeeping. There were used toiletries and towels in the bathroom and stuff left in the fridge from the last guest. Cookies and a bottle of water waiting for me at the check in desk. Comfy, well furnished room minutes from Manhattan Beach and a friendly staff. Great value!

They have a good Continental breakfast and a social time every night which is cool. The location is great 1 mile from Manhattan Beach. Would for sure stay again.

Good price performer; use the business center PC if you need access; wireless less than good.

After trying all of the airport hotels, I now stay exclusively at the Hawthorne Suites. The location is fairly convenient (a bit far from the freeway, but close to Target, Whole Foods, Fry's and other useful stores), the parking is free and they have Comedy Central on their cable lineup. Having a great deal of familiarity with hotels in the West Los Angeles area I must say this is one of the best rivaling many of the pricier places in the area. Excellent boutique style hotel close to LAX, the 405, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach. Convenient underground parking, very safe. Good sports bar right down the street, very good restaurants one block away. Clean and comfortable. Lots of room.

Had to stat outside for ten minutes waiting for someone to come to front and open doors. Even tried to call hotel no answer. Rooms ok, mattress old as well as sheets. Quite and easy to get airport

I travel quite frequently on business and have loyalty toward the Marriott brand chain. However, on this trip I elected to save the money and stay here instead of the Residence Inn across the street and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the Hawthorn Suites are - on many levels. The interior decor is modern and clean; the basic room is also modern […] and clean with a partition separating the sleeping area from the living/work area; they offer free parking underneath the hotel; the free breakfast is very hearty (real eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, yogurt, four cereals, four juice options, breads, bagels, milk; free wireless Internet; an interior courtyard that is outside; within two minute walk to several food options like pizza, mexican, chinese, middle eastern, along with an organic market across the street; only one mile drive to the beach! An unexpected bonus was the dinner they serve on weekday evenings complete with beer and wine options. The only (and rather minor) inconvenience is pulling in to the hotel drive way off of busy Sepulveda. They don't have a pool of hot tub, but with the Pacific Ocean so close....... I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to travelers looking for a clean and modern hotel with a good location and very good food options as part of your fee. Having no experience or knowledge with this hotel our concerns were quickly erased with the greeting from the friendly and warm reception staff. The room was clean and comfortable and courtesy meals and drinks were a grateful surprise. I recommend this hotel to anyone.

Sad location out of the way and nothing close by. Only plus is it's fairly close to Manhatten Beach. The pier is only a short drive.

Clean and quiet rooms, except for one night with a family with a screaming child. Location is good with ample food outlets close by. Also close to LAX. On a main road but we had a suite at the rear of the property and it was quiet. Staff friendly and helpful and always read to assist you with your questions. Free wifi so the kids were happy. this is a great little hotel, i really enjoyed my stay!!!

I've stayed at a lot of different hotels, and I can proudly say that Hawthorne Suites was one of the best!! It was clean and comfortable, and most of all, it felt very private and secured. I will be back!

For the money, the best low end hotel that I have ever stayed at. I arrived at 1am and the exterior looked really shady. But the basement parking lot was clean, lit, with no stinky smells. Greeted at the front desk, told of a room upgrade, and handed a bottle of water. Big suite, full size refer, stove, granite top work station, tv in living area and […] bedroom, clean bath facilities, good shower head, hot water, grab bar in bath, comfortable bed, quiet, nice thick towels. On top of this, they do serve a basic free breakfast. Not just a roll and yogurt, but you can toast a muffin, waffle, bacon, sausage patty, fresh fruit, juice, scrambled eggs. Had to run to a meeting, but grabbed a muffin and ran out the door. I travel for work, stay at very nice hotel when with the wife. Have paid 3x for rooms that are not as nice. Highly recommended. I really like this place. The suites are 2 rooms with 2 TVs and a large dest to work on. I could live here! There needs to be a little more customer service to make this a 5 Star business property.

Hotel is dated. I had a room with only an interior window that had the view of a hallway wall. Any and all shower and bathroom activities by others in adjacent rooms and from above were quite loud. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

I need a place to stay near the airport but in a nice area and this was very inexpensive but definitely a great place to stay. I didn't want to leave.

This was our second stay at this hotel and it was just about the same as the first stay. I recommend this place as a nice place to stay and a good value. The rooms are spacious with nice seating area, a flat screen tv, mini fridge, and such. Upon check in they give you cookies and water and the rooms are clean. The courtyard area is a nice place […] to hang-out and the breakfast is reasonable. They have waffles, eggs, bacon, saugage, fruit, yogurt, juice, toast, bagels, coffee, and pasteries. There is a social hour mon-thurs that include beer and somce snacks if I remember correctly. There is underground parking, the elevator is a bit slow. Wi-fi is a bit weak in the rooms, had to go to the lobby to use VPN for work as the signal was too weak and speed was slow. It looked like the room was wired with ethernet, but I did not have a cable to try it out. Bathroom was decent, sink is seperate from the toilet/shower which is contained in it's own room. a very good hotel for a family vacation in Los Angeles if you have a vehicle. Close to Manhattan beach, Hermosa beach. 1/2 hour to hollywood. Complimentary breakfast and snacks at dinner time. comfortable beds, a nice neighborhood.

Really great experience and very affordable. Very clean room with all that we needed for 3 nights. Loved the free Wi-Fi, free parking, cool party gifts upon check-in (I'll let you be surprised), and the free buffet breakfast. Would definitely do it again when visiting family in the area.

I travel to L.A. frequently and have been looking for a good hotel in the LAX area. The Hawthorne Suites meets all of my criteria (reasonably priced, reasonably convenient location, free parking and Comedy Central). It's nothing fancy, but it's clean and comfortable.

I didn't like this hotel.

The staff was very accomodating. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best complimentary meals I've had. I would stay there again.

hotel staff friendly and very helpful, room clean and had small kitchenette which was nice with 2 grandkids on trip, only thing that kept us from giving higher rating was the hide a bed was single size not double which meant one of the kids slept with an adult not ideal.
