"Harbour Hotel, Mong Kok, Hong Kong"Komentarz: Anna M. - "Poland", dnia lis 1, 2010
We chose this hotel because of location close to Mong Kok station and shopping area. this is very good location and easy access from/to the airport and MTR. close to the hotel there is a local food market, interesting place with no tourists, only local people.regarding the room itself: The walls in the room were more dirty then we expected. the room was extramely small, we expected a little bit bigger based on hotel photos gallery, but we are aware of HK standards so we just had fun of it and did not complain. the bathroom was clean. there was a problem with water not flowing down in the shower.generally we dont complain and will stay there again in 2 weeks for HK for one night.

Wan Chai is a prosperous neighborhood and home to the Convention & Exhibition Center. The arts scene is well established, and a multitude of dining, shopping, and entertainment options await. Discover upmarket homewares, mahjong centers, and enticing bars. Try Johnston and Luard roads for bargain clothes, and Tai Yuen Street for toys. Bowen Drive is the place to go for a jog or some celebrity-spotting.

"Great location!"
Room itself a little bit shabby and oldish, especially bathroom. Bed duvet dirty :-( with open sheets...not so convenient. Never though had a hotel with so functional housekeeping service. Great sized flatscreen, but not so many channels provided. Location excellent! Concierge boys were extremely helpful with everything!
"NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED"
Hotel Staff is really nice and helpfull but definetely the Hotel is not what we expected. We requested an upgrade (honeymoon trip) and we got it!! =)... when we got into the room we were thankfull we got the upgrade!! we couldn't imagine regular rooms. Rooms are not very clean and they have a weird smell.
"nice property but not a central location"
the hotel is very nice but not in a central location. breakfast was good with lots of variety
"Quiet, clean and conveniently located."
Although the room was small, Ive been told this is deriguer in Hong Kong. Good facilities with fast broadband in the lounge area. Lounge was stocked with refreshments and snacks anf was beautifully appointed. I chose Empire Wan Chai as its very centrally located with the MTR , tram and bus providing plenty of options to get around. Highly recomme […] nded. Przeczytaj więcej
"Empire hotel Wan Chai"
Hotel lobby looks great, but rooms are disgusting. Wallpaper is peeling and there was tons of mold and mildew in the bathroom. Rooms also had no heat. Supposed wifi does not exist, only wired internet. We ended up changing hotels after one night. Not worth it.

"Empire Hotel Hong kong"
The outside of the hotel looked really nice and also the lobby, but the room was very old and worned, the spa and pool at the hotel was closed for maintenance and the room had no heating function as it was very cold in the room I had to ask for a electrical heater... only one electrical outlet in the room so when connecting the heater I had to disconnect […] the minibar... "Empire Hotel very good p[lace to stay"
The location of the hotel in Wan Chai is excellent. The staff is great and very accommodating. The room is nice and clean. I would recommend this hotel to others, because I would stay there again and again.
"convenient location and good price range"
the hotel room itself is 3 star, lobby is nice and location is good.

"Perfect location"
The hotel is located in the center of Wan Chai neighborhood. If you like the night life with lots of choices - anywhere from high class restaurants to simple Irish pub or Turkish kebab eatery - this hotel would be a very convenient place to stay. The Convention and Exhibition Center overlooking famous Victoria Harbor is within 10-15 minutes of walk. […] We also walked along the Hennessy street all the way down to Times Square shopping mall. The hotel rate is reasonable, room was cleaned daily in the morning. There is Wi-Fi in the room - depending on your deal either included in the rate or at extra charge. There is a Pacific Coffee Company coffee shop across the street - this is a Starbucks-style cafe with good coffee and cool layout. And, of course, 7-11 everywhere you go... Przeczytaj więcej

"mats"
I stayed at Empire hotel for 5 nites, the room was small but confourtable for one person stay. I was there for business but we don't have free internet in room, it charges HKD120 per day. Location is ok, surrandingn nebhbourhood is convenient, too. Just a little far from hotel to the subway.
"Don't count on Good Internet"
Rooms were outdated, small and internet was only a cable... and slow at best. Staff was fairly nice, but breakfast was not so great.
i think the room is pretty good, but my rooms smells. it's not like 5 stars facilities but it's space is enough for a business traveler. If every room has free wify will do better, since it's business hotel.

"room too small"
I travel a lot to Hong Kong and found this room to be lacking. There is no closet, only a chrome bar to hang your things on. There is no clock in the room. I have never been in a hotel room that didn't have a clock. The bathroom is incredibly small. I am not a large person but I had to stand sideways in the shower to not have one shoulder touching the […] tile and the other the curtain. Had to get right up against the toilet to shut the door. With the door open, there is about 14 inches between the handle and the front of the sink. They provide a hair dryer but no place to plug it in the bathroom. No mirror in the room other than the bathroom. I found a plug outside the bathroom and the cord would reach just far enough into the bath that if you got on your knees, you could have the corner of the mirror to see what you were drying. There was also no bar of soap in the room, only shower gel and a dispenser on the wall near the sink. The dispenser in the shower was empty. Couldn't they just give a little bar of soap? Bottom line is that the hotel was cheap for the area but you get what you pay for. If you are traveling alone, this hotel may work for you. The only way i would go back is if I got a suite. I was there for three nights and after one night I upgraded to a suite which was fine. It doubled the cost of the room so the bargain wasn't such a bargain when all was said and done. Still no clock in the suite but they did have a bar of soap. Przeczytaj więcej
"Empire hotel Wan Chai- rude staff, mould, dated"
Don't let the black marble lobby fool you, the cleanliness and faux chic look ends as soon as you step out the lift. The rooms are small, miserable and with tiny bathrooms that look to have been fitted 20 years ago, at a poor standard. The falling down ceiling tiles, terrible mould and dampness of the bathroom is obviously caused from the entirely ineffective […] air-con which must also be as old as the bathroom. The Internet speed was appauling especially given they charge $120 per day to use a service that is too slow to even skype call. The final blow is the terrible attitude of the staff, particularly one concierge staff who was appallingly rude and left me extremely angry and upset. I will never return to this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. Przeczytaj więcej

"Empire Hotel Wan Chai - good deal"
Good location near several restaurants, two metro stations, the tram and the bus for Stanley. No complaints.
"Nice surprise"
This is a very nice hotel. Rooms are clean and in good shape. The only bad thing is that there's no A/C in the hallways. Lobby is very good too. However, is the sleazy bars around disturb you, don't stay here, I did enjoy the convenience. There are regular pubs and restaurants around too. I was in a high floor, so noise was not a problem.
"Close to convention center"
clean room. convenient location to access convention center. Provide electric outlet adaptor for international travelers. Shower curtain should use curved rod since the bathtub is small. lack of wifi in the room.
"The room was perfect BEAUTIFUL"
Great location, happy with the shuttle service, great value for luxury. We will be back.... Mahalo!
"the hotel need to be updated"
the hotel loby is nice. the room is in really bad shape. even the bathroom the tiles will falled apart. very small room and outdated. the flush didnt work the next day so they upgreade me to suite. it was nice but still need to be updated. the bed was good. very soft.
"Empire"
Excellent for many reasons..I was on a short visa trip - got in extremely late and only had one day to take care of many items..1. Shuttle bus from Shenzhen bus depot stopped right beside the hotel. 2. Concierge was fantastic - helped on five key areas from Visa help, to restaurant location, computer product store, to finding a bookstore with the books […] I wanted to buy. 3. All areas needed were within 5 minutes walk! 4. Nightlife is THERE (if you like it, but can be extremely annoying with hookers galore if you do not) 5. Breakfast buffet was adequate at best - I would stay away from it next time and just walk to McDonalds (not my normal routine) 6. Manager was extremely helpful when I had internet problems. I WILL RETURN! Przeczytaj więcej
"Central location and clean room!"
I stopped in this hotel for 2 nights as a stop over from Australia to the UK - it was great for this length of time as it's in the centre of Hong Kong Island and a short ride from HK station. Recommended.
"Nice room but obtaining internet access is a pain"
Things I liked about the hotel: clean room, convenient location with plenty of food and amenities closely located. 1 Thing I really didn't like: obtaining internet access in my room. In this day and age, it is odd to have to call to the front desk to order your internet access (sold in hourly or daily blocks). During my stay, my internet access needs […] were in the evening to catch up on emails. I had to call several times to even speak with anyone at the front desk, this took between 15-30minutes each night. Things are probably really busy at the front desk at that time. After ordering the internet access, I had to wait for someone to deliver a specially generated userid and password to my room, taking another 15-30 minutes. I bought my internet access in 2 hour blocks each day and for some reason, my service was somehow cut off at the 1 hour mark each time, which then required me to call the front desk to resolve the issue(another 15-30mins). This whole process of getting internet access was hugely frustrating and occurred on a nightly basis during my stay. If you're in Hong Kong for work and have urgent need for internet access, you might want to research further into how to circumvent this problem if you're planning to stay at this hotel. "Comfy Beds but Terrible Breakfast Buffet"
First off, the hotel is in a pretty darn good location. Wanchai is a great place to stay in HK. The hotel room itself is okay... a bit small, but expected for a budget hotel in the city. p.s. don't get the breakfast buffet package... it's the only thing I didn't like. you can spend the extra money at a nice cafe anywhere.
"Empire Hotel Hong Kong Wan Chai"
The hotel is centrally located in Wan Chai, quite near bars and restaurants. Also, the subway and tram lines are also nearby to travel in and around greater HK. Best location! The internet was a bit slow and required a password from the front desk that sometimes took too long to obtain. They were supposed to charge for internet separately too, but the […] final bill did not include it. Oh well. The first couple days the A/C did not work, but it was cooler outside. When the outside temperature rose, the A/C was mysteriously working in the room. Maybe they override when the temperature is mild. Breakfast is typical British fare and overpriced. Go outside instead for dum sum, McDonalds (coffee nearby), or something else. Przeczytaj więcej
"Empire Hotel Wan Chai/Hong Kong"
First I want to say, I don't think you'll find a friendlier or more helpful staff. I received a lot of valuable tips from the concierge and he/they couldn't have been better. The thermastat in the room does not work and the room was warmer than I like. The pool was drained and "under maintenance" It was winter, but I like to swim year around. The water […] pressure in the shower was very low so I felt there was no real way to cool off. Finally, the "toll free" call to Hotels.com to try to fine alternative lodging cost me $80. The hotel manager knocked 20% off the phone bill, but insisted it was my responsibility to pay. Before making the call I checked with the front desk and was told all outside calls (local calls) cost HK 5 dollars so I figured there would be no additional per minute cost with a toll free number. I was wrong. On a bright note, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows were good quality. Again, I loved the staff and it was the staff that kept me from relocating. Przeczytaj więcej

"Great if you get in early"
Positives: This place is great, terrific location to MTR (about 5 min walk), near the laundry on a side street. It is a 3+ star hotel. Wan Chai has lots of bars/nightlife if that's what you want and near Causeway Bay for shops if that's your thing. I would recommend booking this place 2 weeks in advance - it is a great quality at a great price. I've […] booked this place again although a week an advance and have paid substantially more which is closer to the hotel standard. Ok now for the negatives: It would have been better if they told me they upgraded my room and that no additional cost was involved - i had to find this out for myself (there were no additional cost but transparency would have helped). So my scores are based on the upgraded package. The wifi signal was very weak/virtually not usable, and the lan cable was broken so i had to go elsewhere for internet. I will be going back to this place soon so will write a review based on the room i ordered (standard single room for one person with queen bed). Przeczytaj więcej
"EMPIRE HOTEL HONG KONG"
Hotel is adequate but tired. Breakfast fairly basic. Convenient for Wan Chai MTR
"Great affordable hotel"
Situated in the heart of Wan Chai, 3 minute walk from the MTR, 2 minutes from shops in this region, late night bars and clubs are practically on the doorstep. A great place to stay for those looking for a lively break away. The hotel was under refurbishment during our stay but this did not interfere with our stay at all. Would definately stay here again […] on my return. Przeczytaj więcej
"good location, good service"
A short walk from the Wanchai MTR station, located in a lively part of hong kong, the empire hotel was too good for its price. We had 2 twin rooms on the 16th floor - very comfortable, good views and adequate services. The staff was exceptionally good - everyone from the bell boy to the floor manager were friendly and helpful. All in all, a great experience. […] Wish we could stay there longer. Przeczytaj więcej
"nice location -- overpriced, poorly maintained"
Everything about the place, except the location, was a disappointment. My expectations are not unrealistic, but this property made no effort to meet them. I would definitely not return.
"Empire Hotel Wanchai"
Upon arrival, checked in was efficient. The room was nice and comfortable, if a little small, great bed, and new-ish decor. Overall, it was a very pleasant place to stay.
"Very moldy, but safe and cheap"
The hotel felt very safe and had a good daily breakfast buffet for an additional charge (Western and Asian fare). It was a reasonable price, too. The main con was the mold - the bathroom was incredibly moldy; the smell permeated your nostrils as soon as you walked in. The only other problem was noise - if you are a light sleeper, you will likely be […] awake when the disco across the street is open. The windows are not well-insulated - you could hear the clicking of the crosswalk display from the 15th floor. I'm a heavy sleeper, so it didn't bother me, but it did bother a family member staying in a room on the 16th floor. Przeczytaj więcej
"Great Hotel, Fantastic Location!!"
The Empire Hotel is an amazing deal for the price. You can't beat the location. It's two blocks from the Wan Chai MTR station, and a block from the tram and several buses, including the Airport Express bus. There is a coffee shop with internet access across the street. Down the street is a grocery store. Down another street is a western style diner, […] and a dim sum place, as well as numerous noodle shops. The staff at the hotel is very helpful and the rooms are nice, though a little small, but that's Hong Kong. I like the flat screen TV mounted on the wall, and there are plenty of English channels to choose from. I will definitely stay at the Empire Hotel again! Przeczytaj więcej
"PERFECT"
We were on a business/fun trip and LOVED this hotel. It is in a great location and the room was awesome... just don't get the smallest (standard room)... ask for a complimentary upgrade. The pool on the roof was fun and the staff were great.
"Will never stay there again"
This hotel is horrible, smell so bad and the rooms are so dirty. The bathroom was disgusting. I did not feel safe at all in there. Spent just one night because my flight was delayed to the next day and I totally regret it. I think it would work out better if I spent the night in a chair at the airport than in this hotel.
"Lively Gem"
An amazing gem in the middle of the heart of the night life district in HK, 2 minutes from eveywhere. would suit all trypes of travelers. Beds, comfortable, good sized rooms, clean, food was ok, nothing spectacular.
"Random Selection"
At 1st I had no idea regarding this Hotel. It was done randomly, but after the 1st 30 mins, I was very surprised on the service that I was given by all staff. If I ever venture back to Hong Kong again I would surely stay at the Empire Hotel without a doubt. Very pleased
主要是飯店地點方便,離展覽會場近。但是飯店臨馬路邊的窗戶隔音不佳,有點吵。甚至有一扇窗戶故障,無法關緊。
