The hotel is on top of a hill and the view is fantastic. You would need a car, but it's only 15 min from Florence.The staff was great, the room clean and comfortable. The breakfast was basic

Not far from the autostrada so very quick and easy to head off to Siena or Florence. Florence is about a 15mins by bus ride from Tavarnusse (5 min drive from hotel). Lovely location up in the hills. The rooms were great. If driving make sure you get good directions as there are some VERY narrow roads up in the hills if you take a wrong turn.

The views are exceptional, staff very helpful and the restaurant(adjacent, but operated separately), was outstanding, with superior food and wait staff. Hotel reception manager was extremely helpful in planning daily itineraries. The villa has considerable charm. Maintenance of systems could be improved, as elsewhere in Italy; i.e. broken ice machine, […] inoperable spa, grounds needed raking. We were in the dependance, which was decorated with newer ultra-modern furnishings and bath fixtures. Do not know if the rooms in the main villa building were the same or more traditional furnishings. Continental breakfast was adequate but not exceptional, considering the 5 Euro cost per person. Everything is perfect: perfect view, free wifi (only assessable in lobby), nice restaurant, nice staff and spacious room. While it Is located on a hill, it's really not easy to drive there if you're driving a manual car, other than that, everything is okay and it's takes around 20 to 30 minutes for going to Florence downtown.

What a great way to experience Tuscony. After a full day in Florence, we were so pleased with the ambiance and flavour of this location - such a spectacular view. The hotel staff were very obliging. The view from our bed was picture perfect. The breakfast was good (for Italy). The hotel was a little inaccessible, but we would be happy to return in future.

My son and I enjoyed staying at this beautiful hotel. The views from our hotel window were breathtaking! Cost of hotel very reasonable. Clean and nicely decorated hallways and lobby. We had a problem our first night with mosquitos in the room. The staff corrected the problem by giving us the second night a little unit you plug in the outlet that is […] a mosquito repellent. So you may want to request that right away. The restaurant attached to this hotel was excellent, however a nearby Steakhouse called Scopeti had us pay for a $90 steak that was so chewy, we could barely swallow one bite. Very unprofessional. The non steak items we ordered were very good. We definitely would recommend this hotel. If you are using a navigation system, use the city "Impruneta Firenze". This is a hidden gem of a hotel! One of the most affordable in the area and in our opinion one of the best! The staff was very accomodating and helped us as much as possible during our stay. We stayed 5 nights while in the area for a wedding. The room was clean and comfortable and had working air conditioning which we found is a rare thing in the region. […] We had concerns about staying in a hotel as many other people we knew were staying in a villa. We were extremely happy with our choice and would definitely stay again. The only thing we experienced trouble with was finding the hotel, but that was partially our fault because we arrived after dark. You pretty much need to have a car if you are going to stay here, the bus stop is not far away but is a very steep walk. We read the reviews before we booked this hotel and they reflected, what we got: rather difficult to find hotel, but really lovely once you reach there. It was tough finding the location, GPS was no help so a local came to the rescue. It's up a really steep one way hill but when you get to the top you see a lush tropical oasis. Very efficient staff, great grounds, small pool, our room was neat and tidy, and the restaurant on property was superb! This hotel needs another star. It was our best accommodation experience on our 3 week trip through Europe. Situated in Tavarnuzze, a 20 minute bus ride outside of Florence (bus no 37 from the Central Station). Once we arrived in this small Italian town, we didn't want to go back to the bustling city of Florence. It was beautiful and a real Italian […] experience. The locals were so helpful and very kind. Most of them didn't speak english, but that didn't get in the way at all. If you arrive in Tavarnuzze by bus and don't know where to go, just ask one of the locals for directions. They all seem to know about this Villa. The villa is at the top of a hill overlooking the town and Florence. The hill is long and fairly steep, but it is walkable if you're able bodied and looking for a beautiful hike (about 15 minutes). We did it every day for 3 days, even after long days in Florence, it was completely worth it. We are 26 and only had backpacks, I can see it being a problem if you have lots of luggage. If that's the case, rent a car. Our room was in the annex (a building apart from the main hotel). It was very clean and had a beautiful view of Tavarnuzze and Florence in the distance. The room was modern with the best bathroom we experienced in Europe. Large with a luxurious shower (a necessity after that hike up the hill). The hotel staff were extremely helpful and most spoke good english. The night staff didn't speak much english, but it was never a problem. The restaurant next to this hotel was amazing. The service and food are probably the best we've had on our entire trip. It's very well known to locals. At the bottom of the hill is a fantastic pizza place you have to visit. One warning, We arrived in May. They apparently don't activate their air conditioning until June. This wasn't a problem for us because it got quite cool in the evening. The location was just outside of Florence and on top of a hill so the veiws were incredible. The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms comfortable. Will definitely stay there again.

Lovely place to stay just outside of Firenze.

The hotel is located outside Florence but in a beautiful location. We had a car, so getting there was not a problem. For those without, I would not recommend the hotel. Parking is free, so you can leave your car at the bus station parking lot (free as well) and explore Florence by bus, quick and cheap (1 euro, one way). The breakfast is also nice. This is a lovely hotel with large clean rooms and a great breakfast. There is a good restaurant next door. It has commanding views but can be difficult to find. You absolutely need a sat nav. You will need a car to stay at this hotel. It is a 25 - 30 minute bus ride from the hotel to the train station in Florence. The cost is 2.4 Euro per person per day for the bus. Free parking is available on site, and you will need to drive to the center of Tavarnuzze (about 1 - 1.5 miles) to get on the bus. If you get into Tavarnuzze before 9:45am, you […] should be able to find free parking for the day in a parking lot located in its center. Our 4 night stay at the hotel was in the offseason (late November), which meant that there were few people there. Most were other Italians, on business, who would stay for 1 or 2 nights. They would be gone by 8:00am in the morning, and it appeared like we were the only ones there each morning at our 8:30am breakfast. Our triple room was the largest we had during our 12 day vacation in Italy. It had a good size bathroom, king size bed, and a couch that converted into a queen size bed. The hotel is located on top of a hill, and it requires a 1/2 mile drive up a steep and narrow road with several switchbacks. We arrived at night and stopped in Tavarnuzze to ask someone where it is located, and they noted that it was about 600m ahead on the left hand side. If we kept driving on our own without that information, we would probably have missed the small sign. The best part of our stay was the interaction we had with Stephon, the night receptionist. He is a joy to talk to, and provided many insights about life in Italy. He and his wife lived and worked in Costa Rica for 12 years, and as a result, is fluent in Spanish. While he can speak some English, my daughter and I spoke to him in Spanish throughout our stay. Our interaction with Stephon made the stay at this hotel interesting and special. I should also mention that the hotel overlooks the town of Tavarnuzze and the surrounding countryside, which could easily be seen from the windows in our room. The room was very nice and already set up for our two children, who were to sleep on the sofa bed together. Bathroom was up to date and everything worked well. Breakfast was decent for both mornings we were there -- decent and not terribly fancy. We were situated right above the attached restaurant (not affiliated with the hotel) -- and that got a little […] noisy once the tour groups were getting back on their bus to leave. Other than that, we enjoyed the hotel and would definitely stay there again, as it's close enough to Siena AND Florence. This was a wonderful hotel. The location was perfect. We sat on the patio area and had a drink and relaxed after our days journey. Restraunt next door was also convenient and very good. Location was a little hard to find but worth the effort.

We stayed here last year and found the hotel perfect. This year, we got a great rate through hotels.com, and it was good, because our stay was not as great. Our rooms (we got two, one for my husband and me, and one for our college aged sons) were in deperate need of dusting , and general cleaning. The breakfast also got a bit tired, and it was always a guess as to whether there would be yogurt in the morning or not. I miss the cappuccino machine! I would still stay here, because it's such a great location and an authentic old Tuscan hotel I just wish they'd dust. Also, most of the staff do not speak English, though they are all very nice and friendly. The restaurant attached to the hotel isgreat, the waiter speaks several languages and was very nice and patient with us. the service is not as attentive as it was last year, but in the end this made for a more relaxing dinner. The location is very good for trips in Tuscany , but only if you have a car .There is no parking problem.The nearest bus is more then 1 km. but you can leave the car there and take bus No. 37 to Florence. This is actually a beautiful place tucked off the road. The hotel itself is much nicer than the photos online and it's a real bargin! Good thing we drove our car, because we could not find the grocery store down the hill to park our car and ride the bus. Absolutely amazing hotel on top of a hill over looking the area south of Florence. The whole hotel is elegant and superb. The only complaint I have is that when we were there they didn't have the A/C working. It was already warm enough to need it, but thank goodness it was quiet and cool enough to leave the windows open.

very enjoyable hotel in a beautful location. a hire car is very handy and then drive to free Tavarnuzze car park and get a bus to florence from there. local restaurants excellent. only downside was when we was in pisa i think ewan mcgregor was there, but i don't think he was in florence at the same time as we were.

We loved Hotel Villa Ambrosina. We were welcomed by very pleasant and helpful staff. The room was just right and very comfortable with a large lovely bathroom. It was clean, bright, airy and quiet. The hotel is on a large hill which affords an amazing view and is in a secluded area that is so peaceful and private. We enjoyed the time we spent there […] very much. It is a little farther out of the city (Florence) than we expected and the cab fare was anywhere from 20-30Euro. We walked to the bus on most mornings which took about 1/2 hour on a narrow windy road with no shoulder. There are no cabs in Tavarnuzze and we didn't know that and ordered a cab to take us to the bus for an early appointment and was charged 25Euro for the 3-4 minute drive. The cab had to come in from Florence. The driveway is quite steep and pretty hard to climb, although we did it once, we wouldn't suggest it unless you are in good shape. The complimentary breakfast is just the thing to get you started. Everything was fresh and well laid out. Choice was limited but everything was appealing. The breakfast room is lovely and bright. Photos of the hotel posted on line are accurate - it is a pretty place that is well maintained. Internet connection was so-so - and very slow - and it was an additional cost. The restaurant on site seems to be owned independently from the Hotel. The food is delicious, a little on the expensive side, the service is great - very friendly, helpful. We stayed at the hotel the day before flying out of Florence Vespucci Airport. The hotel is very convenient for airport access. It was an adventure to find the hotel as it sits at the very top of the hill in Tavernuzze surrounded by a residential neighborhood. The accomodations were great and the restaurant next to the hotel was excellent.

Very satisfied with the stay here, beautiful villa atop a mountain, internet for 1 Euro for 30 mins, be aware 5 mins to nearest bus stop means a hefty hike down the mountain path NOT convenient for our party as we had our elderly family with us but would be ok for the fit and healthy. We drove down to the bus stop and found a parking lot for "local […] shoppers" that was busy but free. While the hotel was isolated and up a very steep hill, the hotel was wonderful once we arrived. From the excellent staff that was very responsive, helpful and cordial to the spacious and clean rooms to the ONLY place we were able to get internet access for only 1.5 Euro/hour, this place was great. It took us a while to find this hotel, but the adventure was well worth it! The place is beautiful, on a nice hill top, with a great restaurant below it! We had the best dinner in Italy there! After a day of touring, it was nice to come to the hotel, and to just get a drink from the hotel bar and sit out on the terrace. Mis a part le fait que pour le trouver tout en haut d une route perdu c est délicat. je conseille cet établissement remarquable avec vue saisissante sur la campagne toscane et avec un personnel attentif et dévoué.De plus le resto attenant (fermé le mardi) est fabuleux (mais un peu cher).

le peti dej est juste correcte pour le choix mais la qualité des cafés et capuccino méritent d'être signalés Hotel calme en pleine campagne et le restaurant vaut le détour. Il est également placé au début de la route du vin de chianti parking gratuit!!!unique à florence.

also.... das frühstücksbuffet war sehr entäuschend. es gab toastkäse das man selber auspacken musste. salami war auch nicht so gut wie man es in italien gewohnt ist und der schinken war gekocht und schmeckte faade. Ich erwartete einen leckeren rohschinken. kaffee gab es in thermoskannen wie die schokolade auch. O saft kam aus einer elektrischen anlage. […] schmeckte nicht wirklich nach osaft. was man trinken konnte war das wasser. Die dusche/Wc hatte noch haaren vom vorgänger. wir waren 5 tage da und die haaren waren immer noch da. :-( boden in den zimmern mehr oder weniger sauber. séjour intéressant quand on veut se reposer après les visites sur Florence.chambre dans l'annexe coté parking très calme.Petit déjeuner bien complet et peu onéreux;avantage du parking gratuit.On peut le trouver facilement à condition de l'avoir bien localisé auparavant sur un plan.

Отель расположен километрах в 8 от Флоренции, на вершине холма, поэтому он подходит только путешествующим на машине. Найти его непросто, но возвращаться в него приятно: чистый, уютный, с ненавязчивым обслуживанием. К отелю пристроен ресторан Montebuoni с большой террасой, откуда открывается шикарный вид на долину города Fiesole.
