The Americana Village - South Lake Tahoe

My family and I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. We are already planning our summer trip to stay there.

If you didn't book the remodeled rooms, it is not worth the stay.

We liked our recent stay at the Americana Village. Room was clean, staff was friendly. Though the kitchen was very very small, we just wanted to use the microwave to sterlize our baby's feeding bottles, and use the provided electric hot plate to warm water for her. It served the purpose. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

The staff was great...loved the kitchen with large refrigerator and microwave and cupboard filled with utensils and such...room was great...definitely would stay here again

the hotel was clean we checked-in but there was a lingering smell of kind of cleaning solution. the pillows were not comfortable the light in the kitchen didn't work. not enough hot water in the shower tv was OK furniture was good location was good: close to restaurants, groceries, landmarks etc.

this hotel/time share is in the process of being refurbished - almost all rooms have been done! We stayed in one of the older rooms - but were totally comfortable, clean, user friendly. We stayed a week there. The bus stop is right in front. The pool is outdoors but heated :-) as well as the hot tub. The front desk was so accommodating, courteous. breakfast is good, pool is heated, free DVD to watch, enough parking space...

Hotel was very clean, staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. I would stay again. It is reasonably close to the casinos and the price was much more affordable than most places in the area. A definite spot to check out.

Great location - 5mn from Heavenly Ski Resort, 25mn from Sierra-at-Tahoe; Friendly staff; Very clean and spacious room (we booked a studio). Really great for the price! We'll definitely come back for another ski break.

Don't have much to complain about with our stay at Americana. The room was clean, there are lots of extras in the kitchenette area (dishes, glasses, silverware, corkscrew, etc). Decent sized room for 2 with small living room area. Good sized shower and bathroom. Bed was cozy and linens were clean. A quick 5-10 min walk to the casinos on stateline, […] gondola for heavenly. Pool and jacuzzi were nice after a day on the slopes, although the jacuzzi is small (3-4 ppl max) the pool is also heated. Were a few families with children there late night at the pool. If you are looking to stay close to the Casinos and shops well this is the place to stay. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are very well laid out. They have a lot of equipment you can rent out for FREE including movies, sleds, bikes and many other items. If you are planning to bring your family this is the place to come and stay. This place is a gem in Tahoe! My family and I loved our stay there. Front desk was very nice. We wanted to upgrade to the one bedroom and luckily there was 1 left. We didn't feel cramped, the kitchenette was complete with utensils and even wine glasses! We will definitely be back.

I found Americana Village on the internet. The reviews were great, so I booked a mini vacation for the family. What a great place! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was impeccably clean. There were four of us and we were very comfortable. Love the mini kitchen with full size fridge. Great dual shower heads in the bathroom. My kids loved […] it too. Very cute and comfortable rooms. Great customer service and walking distance to shops and casinos.

While the neighborhood is a bit run down, the hotel is close and convenient for south lake tahoe and in itself if nicely up kept. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the room. Overall, the place was nothing fancy, but still beyond my expectations for the deal. For the discounted rate we got, I felt it was more than worth the price and have already booked another stay. This was the first time for me at this hotel. I stayed with friends and we had a great time. We got one of the renovated 1-bedroom rooms. All the decor was excellent and high end materials used. The min-kitchen is perfect, complete with dining everything (and wine opener). I came up with my daughter for a little bit of R&R and what a great time we had! The whole staff, Patrick in particular, was friendly and very helpful. Due to the lack of snow we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. The room was everything we needed. We spent a lot of time in the heated pool and jacuzzi,renting movies and eating popcorn at […] night, and enjoying the fresh mountain air. Sledding at the nearby hill was a blast as my 8-yr old daughter had never experienced snow before. This is the only place to stay in Tahoe, and will be the only place for us when we come back!!! Although corporate owned, the hotel seemed to be left in the hands of teenagers. Issues were just shrugged and giggled off. Same reaction from the so called manager too. Didn't even attempt to sit on the sofa sleeper, it was filthy. We stay in South Lake Tahoe frequently through the ski season and will NOT be back to this place.

Very clean! The decor, carpet color and curtain choices were dated, but still comfortable, spacious and clean! Very friendly office. A short walk to shops and casinos.

I love staying at local places, non-chain. We almost always stay at this hotel. Sometimes you get the remodeled rooms, sometimes not. Non-remodeled are ok. Nice when you have the pull out in the living. The min-kitchen is perfect, complete with dining everything (and wine opener). This hotel was good, and they are going through and remodeling the rooms. We had one of the very old rooms, but our neighbors room was much nicer. In Sept there were a lot of older peole, no kids. We went into the hot tub and an old lady told us our kids couldn't be in there even though there were no signs up saying different. I was put off by that, […] not the hotels fault though. I just didn't realize that it was a time share property with a lot of older people. The employees were very nice. I would only go back if I had one of the newer rooms. Our room was more than I expected. The motel was conveniently located so that we could walk to restaurants and attractions. The staff was very helpful and knew what they were doing. I would definitely stay at the Americana Village if I go to So. Lake Tahoe, CA again.

I was in one of the renovated studio rooms. It was clean, comfortable and well laid out. We had 3 adults sharing the room, and never felt crowded or cramped. Would easily stay here again.

The hotel staff was friendly when we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable we will definitely be back next time we are in Tahoe

Kind of 80's-ish inside, but clean and comfortable. The kitchnette had a coffee pot, toaster, wine opener, fridge, microwave, etc. It would be great to stay a few days. Free bike and DVD rental also. Very friendly staff too.

It is located on the Pioneer trail, not on the boulevard. It's not a short, but an advantage. Nice place for a family to stay. Though there was a toilet clogging problem after the front desk service time, we could solve it with a plunger readily equipped!

I was very impressed in the beginning and loved the location and the room until later on the first evening we stayed with Americano. We took our car out to get some groceries and when we returned there was no parking space available for our rental car. The front desk told us we would have to park on the street which was very busy and not a safe place […] to be parking. This is the first time we have ever experienced this problem and still do not understand how it happened. Parking spaces should be available for each room. We were accomodated incredibly with an upgraded room, just because it was available and it was AMAZING!!

This was our second time staying at the Americana Village. We were so impressed by it the fist time that we came back the following year with three more families. We swam, barbequed, played volleyball and sang karokee in the rec. room at night. Everyone their was so nice. We made so many new friends. We walked to the casinos at night. The Americana Village was a pleasant surprise to both of us. It is tucked behind the main drag which is why you don't notice until you are there. Very nice! Positives: central location, free pass for 6 to private beach, free bicycles, free parking, wifi, kitchenette, refrigerator, double shower, decent rates, gym, pool, ice machine, HBO, service is friendly, various activities, donuts, eggs and cofee for breakfast. Not so good: bedsheets and towels are worn-out, syntheic bed blankets, older couch and furniture, […] room smells a bit old, no gas stove just microwave, small bathroom and kitchenette, some noise at night from passing cars. Not a plush hotel, but the room was clean and the property is pretty quiet; excellent "bang for your buck". Bed and pillows weren't great but I slept fine. Service staff was excellent; friendly and helpful with local dining options. The Americana Village is located within less than a 5 minute drive to the beach and shopping. The hotel also gives passes for up to 6 people to their well maintained part of the beach for the length of your stay as well as discounts on the lake tours. Everyone that I came in contact with while I was there was more than enthusiastic when it came to helping […] me with anything I needed. I was also surprised that on check-in they gave us a small "welcome bag" full of travel goodies (ie-new Schick Hydro 5, Axe hair pomade, and numerous other things.) The hotel also offers daily things to do during the week, such as tie dying shirts, arts and crafts and ping pong tournaments, for families that have children. Really the only thing that I can think of that we didn't like was that the room didn't have air conditioning. Being that it's so high in alitiude anyhow, the weather doesn't get too hot. However there was a box fan provided in the room and a ceiling fan that kept us pretty cool. Also if you like FIRM beds that are still using springs instead of foam mattresses you're in luck! Haha. The shower is of pretty good size and newly remodeled with two shower heads at either end, one high and one low. We looked at it as a "his" and "hers" shower. The room had a small kitchenette with a sink, small fridge, and some serving bowls. Random as it was, the bowls came in handy for the free popcorn and free movie rental they have in the main lobby. If you actually want to cook while you're in Tahoe, they also offer some electric skillets and utensils. To end I've read a couple of reviews that said they could hear the neighbors through the wall. I, however, heard nothing from them. All in all, in my opinion I'd say this would be a GREAT place to stay. Whether it be for a day or a week, it's not a bad choice at all! We were most pleasantly surprised! An older venue but clean, comfortable, close to downtown, & child friendly! I will definitely tell all of our friends. Thank you to the staff and management.

We were there for a soccer tournament and it was everything we expected. Great location, more room for a growing family (kids age 11 and 14), and nice to come back to between games (relax, swim, laundry!). The room was clean with everything we needed, grounds were nicely kept, fitness and laundry room was efficient. Can't wait to come back.

This hotel looks so much better after the remodel. I haven't stayed here since 2003 so don't know when it was done. Our room was clean. The service was top notch. They even have free wifi. The only downside is that my friend had to sleep on the couch since there weren't two beds.

I was pleasantly surprised by Americana. The staff are extremely friendly. Victor who out together all the activities you can do goes out his way to explain everything to you and also gives you cost saving tips around lake tahoe. The studio we stayed in was perfect with all amenities and everything was clean. You can also borrow two movies at a time […] to watch it in the evening (or after it gets dark). Hotel stay was okay. Loved the popcorn machine in the entrance lobby and the free 2dvds you can watch. My room was next to the streets so a bit nosyl Room was okay, roomy, and couch was a bit outdated but otherwise okay.
