I stayed in two different condos in this hotel and I think overall it is fantastic. However, if you are more than 2 people, someone will have to sleep on the sofa bed, which is SUPER uncomfortable. In both condos I stayed, the highest point of the sofa is in the middle. I put the mattress on the floor, but it was only a little better as the mattress […] is really worn out. On the plus side: - a very pleasant view from our balcony - two full bathrooms made it convenient for us On the negative side: -too far to walk to shopping -appliances needed repair or replacement: 1. we could only get hot water wash & rinse from the washing machine! 2. When we arrived, there was way too much water in the bottom of the dishwasher and […] it did not drain properly. In addition, the bottom dishwasher drawer was the wrong one - it was too tall and actually prevented the soap dispenser door from opening. 3. The refrigerator door barely closed evern though nothing was blocking it from the inside. - bed sheets were dingy-looking and had tears in them - no doubt from being used on the hide-away bed. These torn sheets were used on both the hide-away and the bed in the bedroom - not what you'd expect from a three star. (The torn sheets could be mended and re-used on the hide-away.) Great place. It's a condo rental unit and each condo is decorated and stocked by individual owners. Our particular condo was awesome with a kitchen that is better stocked than ours at home! I would suggest having beach towels in the room. The chairs didn't really work well for the beach. Other than this, great spot.

Perfect location. Nice facilities and the condo was nicely decorated and perfect for our needs!

In the advertisement that we reviewed prior to booking indicated we would have AC, much to our dismay upon arrival we had apparently been upgraded but this upgrade didn't include AC. Without AC it made it very difficult to get a good nights rest and completely enjoy our 4 days in Maui. We did call the front desk got passed around to several people and […] finally an answering system. At this point we decided that instead of spending our time on the phone and being stressed by this we would do the best we could .........it was difficult. We will not book with them in the future.......I consider what occurred to be false advertising and do to the fact this was my once a year rest and relaxation time I am very disappointed. Condominium is truly in a perfect spot, across the road from a great beach. Grounds are beautifully maintained. Condo was very spacious and clean. However, the carpet was extremely old and very stained. If I was the owner, I would be embarrassed to rent it out like this! Well located in South Kihei and beautifully landscaped. Older complex but well maintained. Hotel staff very helpful and efficient. Directly across from Kamaole III and easy walk to Kamaole II beaches with good swimming and snorkelling. Lots of kids around at peak Christmas season. The condo we rented was in excellent condition and the hotel is in a very good location: across from a beach park (although you still have to cross the road). The only item travels should be aware of is that a 'resort fee' is added to the price.

Beautiful condo grounds. Lush greenery, flowers everywhere, bbque grills/picnic areas, fountains, outdoor tennis, pool. Wonderful place. Kamaloe Point beach across street. Walk to most everything you need for your vacation.

We found our condo room to be clean and a great stay for a family of four.The swimming pool and hot tubs were very clean,. the adult only hot tub was a great place to visit with other visitors .Our unit was fresh and well equipped. We were upgraded to a garden view and what a glorious view of tropical greenery,We did see a bit of the ocean but honest […] our view was just great !Close to stores!This is not a luxury stay but you won't miss out on anything here except maybe a few extra towels.the washer and dryer worked fine. Very nice location, and the owner had left beach items for individual guest use! The umbrella and chairs were very handy to pack and take to the beach. Quiet area. YMMV by the individual unit you are assigned- ours had an updated bathroom and kitchen, but the couch and chairs in the living room were not very comfortable. The hotel was very clean and the location was good. The bed was very small (probably a double). It was wonderful, having a full size kitchen and living area. The lanai was cool, with table and chairs. We had to check out by noon and our plane did not leave until 10:30pm. It would have been nice to have a late checkout. Beautiful well kept room. Rented a 2 Bedroom condo. Kitchen was fully equipped down to travel coffee mugs. I do not think there is a bad view in the entire resort because the grounds are beautifully kept. Grills available to guests, and were cleaned daily.

2 very different experiences based on unit owner. With each unit individually owned it's hit and miss. Our first unit was still in the 70's (bld.9-303) and based on it we might not use Castle Kamaole Sands again, but our 2nd unit (bld.2-306) was recently (last 5 years?) remodeled, very nicely appointed, and had an additional AC unit in the bedroom (again […] strictly an owner added feature), without which, it's impossible to get the bedroom close to what we would call cool. Needed a place at the last minute and booked this based on location. It's not horrible but... I considered leaving early and I couldn't wait to check out, in spite of convenient location. I stayed in a one bedroom apartment. Here are the details: Plusses: -Washer and dryer -Lots of space -Little balcony -Tiny wall unit AC in living room -Well equipped […] kitchen Minuses: -Bed linens (scratchy, old, you would not want to sleep on them!) -No AC in the bedroom (!!!) -Bathroom lights are florescent and have a crazy loud fan when you turn on the light -Furniture seems like it's from the 70s. It is well worn, seems like someone's old apartment. -Does not feel clean It was a terrible sleeping experience. If you're not planning on being there much it may be ok.... but if you're looking to hang out, you may want to get something more like an vacation home or hotel, and not an old apartment. Castle Kamaole Sands is a condominium resort in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. The rooms are spacious, the grounds beautiful and well kept, and the pool excellent. You can walk to the beach, or drive to sights -nothing is very far. Kitchen supplies, towels, etc are up to the owner of the condo you rent, but almost everything is provided, and you can pay for additional […] housekeeping. I would highly recommend these condos, as well as the events and sights of Maui. Events are expensive, but you can obtain discounts from the Expedia agents on site, or go online. You will get a discount at the local Foodland supermarket, close to the resort, if you want to cook for yourself. Do go snorkeling, take the drive to Hana and beyond and to the top of Haleakala when not shrouded in clouds. Shop and enjoy the restaurants and views at Lahaina and Kaanapali beach. The Castle Camaole Sands acted at a great home base for our 5 day stay in Maui. It is located in Kihei, very close to a number of restaurants and bars and a short drive to the beaches in Wailea. It is only 30 mins to Lahaina and 30 mins to Paia. Our condo was clean and comfortable. Our ocean partial view deck was used to eat dinners and play cards […] while watching the sunset. The stay here was great for the price! Kitchen area was up to date and overall place was nice. Location is great and walking distance to the Kamaole III beach which has the best sunset views!

Normally I would say we got what we paid for, but I got a sweet deal through hotels.com, so it was a great buy. Spacious, comfy, equipped, though our particular unit had no view and was way in back, but it was a pleasant stay.

Castle Kamaole Sands is poorly maintained place. It's not a resort and not a hotel. It's a poorly furnished apartment.The check-in building is the only upgraded area. Individual owners have no incentive or resources to upkeep or renovate the units. We got upset stomachs by getting into swimming pool.

Located in the south west side of Maui in Kihe, about 20 minutes from the airport. Condo style hotel, very well maintained, however, if you need maid service that is an extra charge per day. Great facilities, includes exercise room, pool, volleyball, numerous outside grills. Across the street from public beach with sandy beaches, and good snorkeling. […] Waves in July not good for surfing on this side of Maui. Within short walking distance to restaurants, and stores. Loved staying @this condo..1 bedroom & 2 bathrooms which was a huge plus..very clean & great view, on the strip & across the street from 1 of the nicest beaches..very quiet@night free parking..the grounds are kept very well. I would definitely stay there again!!

Kitchen and facilities had everything we needed. Place was clean. Bed was slightly old but didnt bother me any. I am satisfied but would give a suggestion not to get room 5-109-- next to where the some of the grounds keepers keep their tools and there seeemed to be much extra noise. We loved having the two bathrooms -- we used one for showering off our sand from the beach. We loved having the full kitchen and the washer/dryer. great little condo, a good reasonable $ alternative to the high priced resorts, cooked alot of our own food, packed sandwiches, etc for lunch. The furniture in our condo was horrible though. Bed was uncomfortable and the wicker furniture is just hoakey and horribly uncomfortable.

Overall a very positive experience. The condo was extremely clean and had great kitchen amenities. No maid service as that was an additional fee but other than running low on toilet paper and reusing towels for several days it didn't really matter. One of the toilets had a leak to the floor below so we had to stop using it. They offered to replace it […] while we were there but we decided to wait until we checked out. Walking distance to the beach and to some restaurants. A short cab ride to the bar area. The pool and spa area were nice as well. First off, if you like the south beaches of Maui, which we do, this condo is in a perfect location for the money. The grounds are kept in good condition with lots of birds, geckos, and plants. Don't expect great service from the front office but then again I believe they were just very busy when we checked in and they were dealing with several complaints […] from other guests. If you get a two bedroom condo you only get one parking spot that is close and the other one is a hike from building 5. My close spot was given away during my stay and was not reconciled by the office, although they said they would. I luckily was able to find the owner of the car and he gladly went to the front desk to get issued a new parking spot. The elevator in building 5 was very old and smelly and got stuck on occasion on the fourth floor, requiring the use of the stairs. At times I kept thinking it was going to get stuck while we were in it but never did. The room was pretty clean but nothing very fancy. The back room of the two bedroom condo stays much warmer than the rest of the condo so the people in the front area are usually cold while the people in the back are barely keeping comfortable. The condo had small bugs in the bathroom and kitchen. They did keep hidden for the most part but came out if food was left in trash, sink or dishwasher. Keep the areas clean and they are not a problem. This apparently is common in tropical locations. The pool area was great and the short walk to beautiful beaches and restaurants was really cool. For the money, it surpassed our expectations. Of course, because this is a time share place - each condo is different - but ours was sweet! Clean, nice, well maintained and the grounds were well taken care of and parking was secure.

The condo complex staff is very friendly and helpful. The condo we stayed in was clean , well furnished and kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. The grounds were very well kept and the pool area was also great. We really liked the location across from the beach. Overall a great stay.

We were very satisfied with our choice of condo on Maui. The resort itself is really lovely with a beautiful central garden including fountains lit up at night in different colours. This was surrounded by BBQ areas for each of the buildings which fronted the central lawn area. A good sized pool was also available. The other amenities were great as well […] with free computer and internet access in the office and free daily newspapers. Our condo in building 9 was exceptionally well provided with kitchen items, a Murphy (wall ) bed and flat screen TVs as well as air-conditioning units in the living room and the bedroom. 2 bathrooms was a delight, no waiting! Very tastefully furnished. Only quibble was a foam mattress in the master but it was comfortable enough. The beach is just across the road! Heartily recommended as great value for the price. Our room wasn't clean and the maid had just been there. There were mutiple things broken and not fixed or kept up well. The bed was hard as a rock. We enjoyed our time on the island but wont stay there again. I think for the price we payed; we expected more.

The facility is in a great location with easy access to everything on Maui. Unit has a mid seventies outdated feel to it. Fairly uncomfortable bed - no tv in bedroom uncomfortable. Furniture.

This is a timeshare condominimum, and all the apartments are privatly decorated. Our apartment was extremely tacky decorated, dirty, big chunks of old dust came from the fan - when we started it. We did not feel safe, and could not relax here. The "energy" was quite dark! I was very impressed with how well everything turned out for my week in Maui - the Kamaole Sands is in a great location: right in between Kihei and Wailia, less than 30 min from the airport, about 40 up to Laihaina, and across the street from the beach. And by street I mean crosswalk, where cars actually *Stop* for pedestrians! The gardens were beautiful, […] the pool was nice if not spectacular, and the adults-only hot tub was a lifesaver. We had a big group, several condos, and never felt that bldg-to-bldg coordination was too difficult, with the walk between being right across the gardens. The staff was adequate, and some of the more permenant residents were downright rude, but overall we had a wonderful stay, and I can't imagine that I could have gotten a better "deal" or a nicer place to stay in South Maui! Our two-bedroom condo looked exactly like the pictures, and while my group agreed that I'd gotten the 'fanciest' condo, the other ones that I saw, including a one-bedroom, were all lovely as well. The condo was fine, and comfortable for south Kihei. We enjoyed the pool and beach (Kamaole III), used the kitchen. It was adequately stocked with normal utensils and pans. Housekeeping did not fully clean the kitchen after the last guests-- the cabinet handles were sticky and some pieces of food remained on the floor hidden under the lower cabinets. […] Lightbulbs in the kitchen were missing for no apparent reason. The issues were easily remedied. The pool was quite nice and the BBQs were great. We thought the facility was very well kept, the grounds are kept clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the many kids and grandparents on vacation together. With all the kids, the quiet hours were not violated, and the neighbors' noise was not intrusive. Restaurants were an easy walk away. A couple of drinking and party locales were near by. If more upscale places are desired, they are an easy drive to one of the resorts or to Lahaina. I enjoyed watching the Saturday baseball games at Kalama Park, and the folks who walked their birds in the park. The whales were close enough to the shore to see them breech. Przeczytaj więcej

This is a great location to stay in S. Kihei. It is across from the beach, walking distance to restaurants, shops, and super market.

Each unit is privately owned and we got a unit that was well kept and very nicely decorated. Very roomy for a family of 4. The owners had everything we could need, from games to beach chairs to kitchen utensils they thought of everything. The whole unit is not air conditioned, just the main living area, but there are ceiling fans in every room. Nice […] pool area and gardens, we just wish the pool had been heated. The hotel was decent. We reserved multiple condos and noticed that they were all furnished differently and at different locations. Some had beds for 4 and some had beds for 6 people. You only get one parking space per condo, others have to park in visitors parking which is a 5 min walk. Beautiful ground, good location, but the beds were like a brick! very uncomfortable to sleep.even tried the couch.

Convenient to walk across to beach, beautiful ocean view. Elevators were broken for 2 of the 4 days of our stay (on 4th floor) which was inconvenient and had to walk down to lobby to check out vs most places have express check out.
