I prepaid 5 nights. When I arrived I was given the choice of an older room with attached bath or "new" room with bath across the hall. I opted for the older room. The A/C ran like a train engine & the mattress was like a rock. I asked for another room & and was given a newer one, but the A/C was just as noisy & the mattress just as hard. After 2 nights […] of not sleeping I wanted to leave but manager told me he would "upgrade" me to a room with a better bed. I slept fine after but the glue or glue-remover smell when they wrapped-up construction every night came into the room and I felt like I was being gassed. They wanted to charge me the upgrade fee for 4 nights instead of 3 when I checked out (mistake?). Check out time is noon but housekeeping knocked on my door every morning if I was not out by ten asking if I wanted my room cleaned. The female manager (?) was annoyed if I told her I wanted it cleaned later. Even if they finish the construction and the horrible smells are gone I would not recommend this hotel for their bad attitude. They do not explain on the website that half of the rooms have the bathroom across the hall (dedicated, but you still have to put your pants on in the middle of the night & have a robe to take a shower). I have stayed at 27 hotels last year & 22 so far this year and this is the worst experience. It was like torture staying here. The location is the ONLY redeeming factor. Przeczytaj więcej

Having read many positive reviews about this hotel, I was disappointed when I saw the plain ugliness of my room in the 5th floor where reception is. Maybe one must take a 'deluxe' room and not a 'superior' room as mine was. My room with its tiled walls looked like a bathroom or kitchen-turned bedroom. Rather bleak. Also, there is no lobby and dining […] or breakfast room in this hotel, which gives it a strange feel. But I didn't mind much. Having said this, the bathroom was neat and clean which counts for a lot. The location was also good, close to the sea and Colaba isn't that far away. We booked a delux room with balcony. The room was good – clean, great shower, comfortable bed – but there was no balcony, and no view. In fact, there was only a high-up slatted window onto a smelly courtyard. It felt like a bit of a prison. The breakfast choice is poor – though it was nice to be able to sit on the roof to eat it. The hotel services […] could be better – uncommunicative reception staff, no information on breakfast on arrival, heartbreakingly slow breakfast service, unhelpful with taxis (we wanted to order an a/c cab, but they refused, and then the doorman insisted we take a non-a/c cab parked in front of the hotel, which we didn't want, and that overcharged). On the upside, the hotel is conveniently located, close to Marine Drive and Fort/Churchgate sights. Ultimately, however, our stay at Chateau Windsor was definitely not worth the money. We'd been 'roughing it' for the few weeks previous to our stay in Mumbai, so we were quite disappointed that our little bit of luxury at the end failed to come up to scratch. I booked a deluxe room but was the room I had the first night wasn't deluxe. I asked to be moved the next day to a room with a balcony. This happened but the room had a separate bathroom which wasn't ideal. The room was very spacious and clean. Overall I was very happy though as the staff were helpful and I felt safe being on my own. Chateau Windsor is excellent -- clean rooms, hot shower separated from toilet, Manager is very friendly and accomodating. Location is excellent -- walking distance to Gateway and many restaurants.

pictures on the website are from other hotels? the room i stayed was like half size. there were not much space. room was clean. but smelly. for the price room should be better. hotel reception looked like hospital reception. there is no aircondition in the hall area. so after checking out i had to sweating in a room while using internet. but, staff […] were very helpful and kind. so if you dont want to be upset by staff. this would be a good option. but i am not gonna stay here again. because of smelly room and unfaithful photos. This hotel is only good for a short & non business trip. Limited Internet service & non availability of Food service is injustice to a hotel which is situated at such a prime location.

This place was so poor. The beds weren't even made. The toilet was cracked. I don't even want to think about it anymore.

My expectations for this hotel were not that high, but my deluxe room was just that. It's a very nice place, in a great location. Sure the vibe is a little off, and going up to the top floor to drop off/pick up your key off each time is a bit annoying. But for the money, it was a decent place and I'd stay there again.

Chateau Windsor Hotel is ideally located to reach several parts of Mumbai. The staff are very courteous and polite, always willing to assist. Very clean and the overall service is of a very high standard. Accompanied by a two and half year old, we had no difficulty staying at this hotel.

The best part about this hotel : Newly renovated rooms are fantastic, good toilets, showers, and bedding, nice decor, and very clean overall. The bad parts : 2 bad things of note : 1. The lift is horrendous, and must be replaced urgently sirs! The rooms themselves more than make up for these however, and are veryy neat and clean. Second baddie : The […] taxi drivers who work 'as a part of the hotel' -- Keep trying to take you to their relatives shops to buy clothing (exhorbitantly overcharged foreigners!) and handicrafts. Just refuse this... Hotel managers, kindly deal with this behaviour in future! The taxi drivers apparently make a 20% cut on each sale - which we were informed by an insider. That's beside the point, and should not deter you from this decent hotel. All in all, a decent stay, and I would recommend this gem to anyone - especially since the rooms are newly renovated. Det var ganske godt. Der blev dog fundet en bedbug i en af sengene, men det tog personalet sig hurtigt af og vi blev flyttet til et andet værelse. Rigtig godt.

Hotellet är i ett kul område med gångavstånd till t.ex. Gateway of India. Rummet var super rent, men å andra sidan kändes det som om vi bodde i ett gammalt badrum. Det de kallar "superior" skulle jag kalla average. Om ni ska bo där, skulle jag lägga ut lite extra och ta "deluxe" rummen.

Chateau Windsor Hotel ligger i en smal men hög byggnad bredvid skrythotellet Ambassador på bästa adress nära strand och de centrala attraktionerna. Det kan ses som något av ett budgetalternativ till sin granne men gav ändå ett mycket positivt intryck på grund av sin goda service och dedikerade personal. Det gjorde det inte sämre att vi välkomnades […] genom att vår rum uppgraderades men i det stora hela så präglades vår vistelse av att hotellets personal ville göra sitt bästa för att uppfylla våra önskningar och gav bästa möjliga service (utan att för den sakens skull kräva extra betalt). Rummet var stort och med privat balkong och utsikt över taken i närmaste området. Det var lite underligt att den privata toaletten återfanns på andra sidan korridoren och att man fick förse sig med nyckel och anständig klädsel vid besök i badrummet. Det var fräscht och i form av TV, AC, säkerhetsskpå osv så saknades ingenting på rummet. Frukosten beställdes via room service och serverades i rummet - men fick ätas i soffan eftersom det saknades matbord. Internet via wifi kunde köpas för någon hundring (Rs.) per timme vilket är okej. Mumbai har relativt höga hotellpriser men på Chateau Windsor Hotel får man åtminstone mycket för pengarna och hotellet rekommenderas varmt. Przeczytaj więcej
