Mieliśmy z Żoną przyjemność spędzić trzy dni w Hotelu Galaxy na krakowskim Kazimierzu. Pragnę podkreślić wysoką jakość usług hotelu co szczególnie dotyczy życzliwej i profesjonalnej obsługi. Otrzymany pokój był czysty z dużym komfortowym łóżkiem, z widokiem na panoramę Wisły. Z pewnością Hotel Galaxy jest godny polecenia.

"ideal location to the market place"
First class hotel with a touch of royalty about it. The staff are class. Will return there again.
Nice hotel situatuated in the very nice town center om Crakow. Not in perfect shape but OK. Very friendly staff. One could recomend pepole to stay in this old fasion hotel with wide and long corridors. Couple in the 60:ies from Sweden.

"Great Location"
Great Location. Very convenient to the main square with tons of restaurants and nearby shopping streets, and the hotel is a historic building with lots of charm, but the beds are somewhat lumpy and the exercise room is a rickety old treadmill. Hotel Grand has one of the best locations in Krakow, right next to the square. The hotel is older style, but it has a nice elegance to it. While not modern, it is worth the price and you can't beat the location. The staff were all excellent.

If you want to be bear the main square and the "touristy" bit then the Grand is OK. In fairness didn't go to see any other hotels, and this may be the 5 star standard in Poland, but more 3 or struggling 4star UK at best. Give the breakfast a miss. Nicer cafes in the area and probably cheaper.
"Great Location, lots of hidden costs"
We paid a premium to stay right on the Rynek Glowny for New Year's Eve. The hotel's location is fantastic and does not disappoint. Hotel itself is beautifully restored, with gorgeous high ceilings. The bathroom was modernized and, most importantly, very clean. I love Krakow and would return, but I would definitely not stay here next time. Internet, […] which we found to be included at every other hotel we stayed at in Poland, was only available in a locked-up business center and at an exorbitant cost (by Polish standards) per half hour for use. But my biggest complaint was about the TV - we turned it on to watch SkyNews and in flipping through the channels there were unblocked channels of hard-core porn. I mean, it wasn't an ad for pay-per-view porn or anything, it was full-on into the film. I'm not a huge prude, but if we had brought kids or anything they would have seen all of it! The worst was when we checked out, they wouldn't let me leave until we paid the equivalent of more than USD20 to cover "television charges." I asked her what they were and they said that at 2:30 pm we had flipped to a channel you had to pay for!!!! But I was right there when it happened and there was no way to NOT flip to it if you were doing a normal scan of channels -- no warning that you were about to be charged, and more importantly, a warning that you were about to see pornography. When I complained that we hadn't watched it, the front desk girl smirked and said "maybe your husband?" We were late for our shutle to Katowice airport so I didn't even have time to really respond or ask to speak to the manager, just gave her money and left. What a bad way to kick off 2010! "Offering Location Only"
While the location cannot be beat that is all that can be said for this hotel. Free water was included but plying it from the hands of the maid was another story, the same with bathroom products as well. The front desk staff wasn't too knowledgeable about things in town either.
"Disappointed"
I was quite disappointed. Although requested a non-smoking room the room we were given reeked of smoke. At least 3 nights we did not get a turn-down service. Tea/Coffee facilities would have been an asset to the room. Hotel decor was very nice and staff very helpful

The hotel is within very easy walking distance of the main square in Krakow old town, which means all bars, cafes, places of interest are on your doorstep. The 5 star rating is a little generous, but the staff and hotel decor belong to another age, one of ornate furnishings, and brilliant standards of service! "Lovely hotel in excellent location"
Only booked our hotel the day before we were due to arrive. Got a great deal and can absolutely recommend the hotel to anyone wishing to travel to Krakow. The location couldn't be better (side road from main square). We went Mon-Thurs which was brilliant. Krakow gets busy at the weekend but even if the noise affects some people they would have […] no complaints about the location of the hotel. The hotel itself looks rather plain outside as does other hotels in Krakow but once you step foot inside it is very grand, very clean and cannot be faulted. It is a very grand building with marble and guilt everywhere with some lovely old coloured leaded windows. Lots of choice for breakfast (buffet style). Can recommend salt mines. They are amazing. Very easy to go by yourself rather than go on a tour, simply get the train from the main station directly to the mines. As soon as you get off the train simply follow the signs to the salt mine entrance. Really easy. We opted to visit Auschwitz on a tour. Ended up with 8 of us in a minibus showing dvd on the way, and our own personal guide. Who was absolutely brilliant (Dorota Nycz). Very emotional trip but everyone should go there. The main square is brilliant to sit out in to watch the buskers and horse and carriages. Very relaxing. Food is lovely if you dare to try the polish cuisine. A must is the soup in a bread bowl. This hotel is great for location, but be sure to check where your room is located. Our room was located directly over the road that was being constructed. We arrived late (1:00 a.m.), and were very tired. We were not informed about the construction, which began at 7:00 a.m. Our bed was actually shaking from the jackhammer. Très bel hôtel, propre, style vieille Europe. Emplacement exeptionnel mais le service n'est pas celui d'un 5 étoiles, dommage! Le petit déjeuner est très moyen pour cette catégorie

Flott hotell med rene store rom, fantastiske tapeter og interiør, deilige bad og nydelig service. Ligger midt i "smørøyet", med gangavstnd til alt! Lite biltrafikk. Godt utvalg på frokostbufeten, men mye smakløst pålegg og heller tørt brød som det tilgjengelige toastjernet bare rettet opp for i noen grad. Heldigvis et godt utvalg korn, tørket frukt […] og nøtter som mn kunne mikse fine frokostblandinger av. Trekker også ned at det var mye bråk fra gaten på nattestid, både fra fest og folk som arbeidet. Den fantatisk sentrale beliggenheten gjorde også at trompetspillingen fra kirketårnet på Mariakirken hørtes godt hver eneste hele time fra det tidligste morgengry... Vi bodde midt i smørøyet i byen..Hotellet var rent og pent men det var noe slitt!! Servicen var utmerket og jeg anbefaler dette stedet til andre!!
"Ikke som forventet av et 5- stjerners hotell"
Dette hotellet var helt greit, men ikke noe mer. Beliggenheten var sentral i sentrum og renhold på rommet var bra. Frokosten var derimot dårligere enn på en middels norsk veikro, og stod overhodet ikke i forhold til hva som kan forventes av et 5- stjerners hotell !! Rommet var heller ikke hva som kan forventes; det var slitt, relativt lite tross deluxe […] dobbeltrom og slitt bad uten varmkabler. Også mye støy fra gaten utenfor. Totalt var hotellet særdeles lite luksuriøst, og langt under standarden vi forventet. Ikke verdt pengene, velg heller et annet og nyere 5- stjerners - samme prisklasse og like bra beliggenhet. Takker for et meget hyggelig opphold på Grand Hotell Krakow, det er ikke siste gangen vi kommer tilbake hit. Blide mennesker god service og beliggenhet i særklasse. Reiser mye, dette var av det beste av det beste vi har tatt inn på. Anbefales på det varnmeste. 3 minutter til alt.

Ett mycket fint hotell med närhet till det mesta. Ett stenkast från Stora torget och de flesta muséum låg inom en kort promenad (liksom shopping). Rummen var stora, fina och fräscha. Likaså badrummet! Servicen på hotellet var mycket bra. Portiern var alltid på hugget för att hjälpa till och personalen i receptionen trevliga. Not to detract from the overall impression this historical hotel has a 5-star location but can only be rated 4-star max. We had an excellent room (25) with the largest bathtub ever, and the longest walk from reception. Bar served an aweful wine that should not have been allowed. Superb location, just off the main square, and 15 mins to rail and busstation. Clean rooms and bathrooms (with slightly under standard quality toiletry products and a completely useless hairdryer). Staff friendly but couldn't deliver valid information on travel to Auschwitz - we were there during Easter, and expected a better orientation in the local […] train/bus schedules. So if you want to travel on your own hand, get the info at a travel agent. Hotel breakfast choice was a bit disappointing. But all in all, location wins over. I'd definitely go back.
