Hotel dość tani i czysty. Pokoje malutkie, brak szafy, jedzenie dobre. Położenie nie najlepsze- daleko do metra, żadnych sklepów w okolicy. Darmowy internet tylko w holu i na piątym piętrze. Ogólnie hotel godny polecenia.

Lantau Island offers a rural retreat from the city's hectic pace. More than 50 percent of the island is undeveloped, covered in woodland crossed by mountain streams and hiking trails, and punctuated by old forts and monasteries. Attractions include the Ngong Ping 5.7-km (3.5-mile) skyrail, Po Lin monastery and its 26-meter (85-foot) bronze Buddha, and Hong Kong Disneyland.

I WOULD APPRECIATE A CALL FROM YOUR REPRESENTATIVES .THIS WAS A COMPLETE JOKE AND IS NOT CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT AT ALL .
No shampoo. The basic personal items such as toothpaste & brushes are very cheap; wate tap was very old and leaking. Maintenance is poor! Also, we wonder why it doesn't allow late check-out?? Overall, it is under-grade, 3 stars?!!!

"Good but not worth for the money charged"
Bette to stay in hong kong or kowloon and commute via ferry or mtr to lantau island.
"nice beach and neighborhood"
This hotel has very old rooms and is very run down. It's in a good neighborhood, great little park for kids near by. The ride is about 30 mins or a little more without traffic and very hilly and curvy. It's the same as a not update comfort inn in America. The breakfast buffet was nice and the staff were nice the hotel just needs to be updated but if […] it was they probably would charge more I guess. Przeczytaj więcej

"Silvermine Beach Resort"
The location and surround are very nice and very pleasant. The hotel is a bit tired and a bit run down. Would be a great place when it just would see a a decent renovation as the location is magic.

The buffet is very bad, the quality of the products is extremly bad and very expensive. Avoid the buffet/BBQ!
"On the beachfront"
The staff was very friendly, and they even upgraded my room to a room with seaview, free of charge! The food in the restaurant was okay, but not amazing, the hongkong beer was good. The staff provided me with hiking instructions and was in general very helpful and their english was good. Wifi is not free, but if you buy a beer or similar you get two […] hours complimentary internet, you also get two hours at breakfast for free. Would stay there again. Przeczytaj więcej

"Silvermine Beach Hotel - Declining Service"
I have been visiting the Silvermine Beach Hotel for several years with my family. We have generally found it to be a pleasant and relaxing break. When booking this time I learned that prices had increased substantially due to new ownership. However, the service we received was worse than before. On arrival there was a problem with the booking which […] took the reception staff some time to resolve. Later, I was told very rudely by as staff member not to park my rented bike at a specific location. I had done this many times before on previous visits. If the rules have changed fair enough - but at least explain them in a professional manner and suggest an alternate location. I would now hesitate to recommend the hotel to others given the declining service quality and reduced value for money. Przeczytaj więcej
"If you want to stay in Mui Wo, this is the place"
Mui Wo, and the side of Lantau Island that it's on, is an interesting part of Hong Kong, where people live a simpler and more traditional life away from the high rise apartment blocks. I found this hotel to be adequate but overpriced (we were there in July). We were in the older part of it, and the air conditioning was noisy and it had a 'run down' […] feeling. A great location on the beach, but the restaurant was empty every night. Przeczytaj więcej
"Silvermine Bay Hotel - August 2011"
My friends and I stayed at the Silvermine at the beginning of August 2011, we were really happy with the hotel and the service. I would say it's a good 3-3.5 star property with a 5 star location. It's right on the beach and is a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The rooms were clean and comfortable, spacious enough and all had small fridges which […] is useful just to put water, beers etc in. There were 2 girls and 1 guy so we ended up getting 2 rooms which were interconnecting so that was perfect. I would definitely recommend buying all supplies and meals outside of the hotel as it is a lot cheaper and the food at the local restaurants is 20 times the quality. There are lots of little restaurants close by on the way to the ferry terminal, we ate at the Mui Wo markets a few times and had some great meals. There are lots of sightseeing things to do on the Island, our holiday was more based on drinking and swimming so we didn't do a lot of touristy things but you definitely have the option to. We hired bikes for AUD$4 a day at a shop near the ferry terminal which is definitely the way to go, lots of fun and easier to get around. There's a restuarant near the Silvermine Hotel that's only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday's as well which has a great reputation, we didn't get the opportunity to go but we were told about it quite a few times! If you've got a free Sunday, head down to South Bay, way better than Repulse Bay. You just need to catch the ferry to Central, get a bus from Central to Repulse Bay and then a taxi from Repulse Bay to South Bay. It takes a little while but it's worth it, everyone goes there on Sunday's, locals and foreigners and it's got a great atmosphere. The beach is incredible, really clean. There's also a lifesaving building on the beach with a great restaurant and bar on the top with a DJ which is lots of fun to head up to after your day on the beach. We didn't get to go but apparently Ocean Park is way better than Disney Land as well Przeczytaj więcej

"Be Aware of these problems"
Several items to be aware of - if these don't bother you, I recommend it based on price. -You must take a blue cab at the HK airport to get there and they are few and far between sometimes (and trip there is a bit rough due to hilly roads and cab can only drop you NEAR, not at the front door) -Even though it IS closer and cheaper (taxi may cost around […] half of the fare to go to Hong Kong downtown) it will still take around 30 minutes (compared to maybe 45 min to HK downtown) -So if you're after convenience and near airport, pick -one of the 3 airport hotels: I recommend SkyCity Marriott which is MUCH nicer, cleaner, convenient, etc and has 5 minute airport shuttle and, if you book early and/or right days, MAY only be around 30 USD more all totalled. -Carpets at Silvermine very dirty even in the "new" section- -No elevators, very basic and old in every way, not built for accessibility and ease AT ALL -Taxis and other vehicles CANNOT pull up to the hotel, you have to walk in, about 3 minutes with your luggage in tow in high humidity during spring, summer and fall -If you want relaxation at the beach, no rush, good price, certainly could be for you. But if you want convenience, really nice rooms, lots of amenities, great service and classy - DEFINITELY NOT for you. Przeczytaj więcej
"Silvermine Hotel - Ok for a night in a quiet area"
We stayed here on a one night layover in Hong Kong as we did not want to spend a lot and wanted to stay closer to the airport. The drive to the hotel took longer than I thought (about 20 min taxi ride) but it was very scenic. We very much enjoyed walking around Mui Wo and found the area quite relaxing compared to being in the City. The hotel itself […] is rundown and looks like it came from the 70s, but it was clean and the service was fine. If you don't want to spend a lot and want to be in a quiet area I would recommend staying here. Przeczytaj więcej

"Away from the hustle and bustle of HK"
If you're fussy about your hotel room furniture, this place is not for you. If you need the hotel staff to treat you like a king, this is not for you. But if you want a hotel that is away from the noise of Kowloon and HK, this is the place I'd go to. The interior of the hotel kinda reminds me of a old hospital. Not charming, furniture looks like […] it was bought during the 80's. At least the bed was comfortable and there was a hairdryer and bathtub. Size of the room was also ok, not squeezy. My room was also quite clean, didn't see any cockroaches. For me, it was the surroundings that was the plus points of this place. We had a room that faced the beach. In the mornings, just draw your curtains and less than fifty metres is the beach and the sea with big hills on one side and a sleepy village on the other. The back of the hotel is faced with the hills of Lantau island which also happens to have one of the best walking trails in Hong Kong. Located in Mui Wo, it's pretty remote but serviced by bus and ferry. Both are modes of transportation are very punctual. The bus, service 3M, goes to Citygate outlets where you can do all your cheap bargain shopping. 3M frequency is about 20 -30. Journey time was about 30-40mins. Mind you, it goes up and down some steep hills, so if you're prone to motion sickness, the downhill ride may make your face turn green. First Ferry runs from Mui Wo to HK central terminal. Journey time for the fast ferry is about 30mins, 45mins for the ordinary ferry. So if you plan your day well, you can enjoy the best of HK and Kowloon, eat your 3 meals on the main island, then lug your booty back to the hotel at the end of your day. The hotel is relatively cheaply priced if you go through Hotels.com or the other hotel search engines. But again, it's not for everyone, you will lose some creature comforts if you choose this place. But if you're good at planning, don't mind just a little walking, not prone to motion sickness, and love the big outdoors, Przeczytaj więcej

"Search hotel at Mui Wo? Then Silvermine Bay Hotel!"
As there is no other choice in the same area, it can still be the one you would like to stay. Honestly, the environment is pretty and the facilities of the hotel are old but clean. It should be a great place for you to reach different scenic spots in Lantau Island.

"Silvermine Hotel in Hong Kong"
You are in China, so your level of expectations should not be too high. This is a great place, the help was great. You get a discount on the dinning hall. You pay extra for internet ($15 US per day). It was good this was the only hotel that would suit once budget if booked in advance.
Great location away from bustling HK.
"Big room, lousy customer service"
Hotel room was very nice and big, especially compared to downtown Hong Kong. Beach was decent and local seafood restaurants weren't bad. I was disappointed that they didn't offer free wifi, charged money for a power converter, and didn't have any kind of beach towel/chairs available. Very decent if you want a break from the craziness of HK.

"Good value, great alternative experience"
Yes, it could use with new carpeting (urgently, actually) and yes the facilities are modest, but it was quiet, at a beautiful, super-quiet location and very low-priced for the value gien. Easy access to Central via frequent enjoyable ferries, a handful of good, but modest restaurants at Mui Wo, and if the timing is right an inexpensive putblic bus ride […] right to the airport. "Silvermine Beach Hotel in Mui Wo, Lantau Island HK"
My short overnight stay in this Hotel was memorable. First, this is accessible going to Central island and bus terminal is just a walking distance. The reason why I'm saying its memorable is that because I left my necklace in the hotel and my plane has just landed in Manila Airport when I realized that I'm not wearing it. Before leaving the airport, […] I immediately called the hotel and a receptionist named Teddy said they will check it. I gave my call back number and expected to receive a call from them. However, after 48hrs of waiting, no call received from the hotel so I decided to call them again. I was so happy to hear from another receptionist named Yen that they have found it after verifying some informations. All the receptionist I have encountered are accommodating. I just hope that I will get my necklace bask soon. I am willing to pay charges just to bring it back here in Manila. Przeczytaj więcej
"Silvermine Beach Hotel - Serene, yet close to HK"
We arrived at the hotel early in the morning, having travelled to Hong Kong from New Zealand. Our room overlooked the bay. Our bed was very comfortable. We had a buffet dinner in the restaurant that evening and breakfast the following morning. We were also able to access the internet for free, after purchasing a drink from the bar. The staff were all […] very friendly and helpful. This hotel is not as smart as some of the hotels in Kowloon or elsewhere, but offers excellent value for money and is in a lovely serene environment. Hong Kong was easily accessible by the local ferry service, and we had a lovely day visiting the Ladies Market etc. before continuing our journey home to the UK the following day. Przeczytaj więcej

"A hotel on the beach...."
The hotel is located on the beach and is only a 10 minute walk from the pier to take the ferry into Hong Kong. There are many British people around, as well as Chinese, which makes for an interesting cultural and linguistic mix. Most people in Mui Wo, the village in which the hotel is located, are very pleasant and throw you a smile as you walk down […] the street. The hotel itself has British style rooms (IE small), but not so small that you feel trapped. All in all, I'd stay there again! Przeczytaj więcej
"Very nice hotel"
This is a very nice hotel. The location couldn't be better. Right on the beach and only 5 min walk to the ferry and bus terminal. Only US $20 cab drive from the airport. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff. Big rooms - although needs some updates. Overall very pleased.
"Silvermine Beach Hotel, Lantau, Hong Kong"
As explained, getting my luggage to the hotel and into my room was a mission. The room was smelly (very damp), very delapidated and the bed was as hard as rock. There was a kettle and cup with green tea - no coffee, no ord tea or milk in the fridge. Nothing was welcoming. The bathroom was so disgusting, I hardly wanted to use it. The tiles were cracked, […] there was peeling paint and the grouting was mouldy. The whole thing was pretty shabby. The breakfast was ok, but as I have food intolerances, there was very little I could eat (not their fault of course), but otherwise all I could think about was having to get my luggage back down the stairs and out to the taxi for my return to the airport. They charged me $15 to help with the luggage and the man did not get my change from the $20 I gave him! Overall, I was very very disappointed and would never go back or recommend the hotel. Most of our motels and backpackers have cleaner, and more comfortable accommodation. Przeczytaj więcej

Easy 30 minute taxi ride from HK airportl. Hotel on local beach less than half a mile from ferry terminal ...30 minutes by fast ferry to HK central, Very friendly staff, good food including free breakfast, rooms need updating but clean and comfortable. For the price an excellent choice.

Somewhat remote spot on South Lantau Island. 45 minute cab ride from the AP. Close to the Central Ferry Pier to Hong Kong Island. A short bus or taxi ride from the giant Buddha and the po lin monastery. Hotel not in the greatest condition but will do for a short stay. Hike Lantau if your into that.

"Silvermine Beach Hotel: away from the crowds"
A very good hotel. Comfortable, well appointed rooms, are complemented by a fine restaurant. With minimal effort, the bathroom could be considerably improved: maintenance to conceal rust patches would take away the rather 'tired' appearance of this area. Tariffs here are very reasonable in what is otherwise one of the more expensive parts of the world […] in which to stay. Przeczytaj więcej
"A very pleasant stay"
This hotel was a good place for us to stay as it was in a quiet location. 30 mins on fast ferry or 50 on ordinary ferry took you to Central Hong Kong. We only did this twice as we enjoyed the village atmosphere of Mui Wo. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The en suite was shabby as were some other areas as a lot of upgrading needs to be […] done (This is happening at present) Breakfast was fine - we always found something we could enjoy. Bar prices were expensive but we had 30%off as we were staying 9 nts. The swimming pool was wonderful - nice and big. There were always 2 lifeguards in attendance. We intend to return to Silvermine Beach Hotel some day soon! A tip for fellow travellers -if you stay here then eat at Cafe Bombay for a wonderful Indian meal and China Bear pub for European food, good wine and friendly people. Przeczytaj więcej

BEAUTIFUL location an easy ferry ride from downtown Hong Kong. Hotel is a little run down (carpet), but it has a beautiful pool and the rooms and restaurant are nice.
"Beautiful location"
This is a very nice hotel. I stayed in the older part, the rooms are quite old but clean and it would benefit from having a lift. The pool is lovely and there is a nice Asian buffet served in the restaurant in the evening. The location on the beach is lovely.
"Not a great deal"
If you want to stay close to the airport, and don't want to be ruined at the hotels close to Disnay, then this hotel is a bad solution! It's to expensive compared to hotels i Hong Kong and it's old and not very clean. The best impression is the god breakfast that's included in the price. And if you leave early a greasy sandwich and a bric-juice can […] be arranged. The roads on Lantau gives you a 45 min taxi ride to the airport, so downtown hotel is a better solution.
