The Knight Residence - Edynburg

The Knight Residence hotel/apartment was a great find on hotels.com. It is conveniently located (within walking distance) of all major Edinburgh attractions. The staff was warm and welcoming and took the time to show us the details/workings of the apartment when we first arrived. A little hard to find, but well worth the effort. Apartment was beautiful, well set up and had everything we could want.

The best staff i have come accros in years and lovely quiet nights sleep in very comfy bed. Will def return. Great to have dvd library for the kids.

Fabulous hotel and highly recommended. You get so much more space and comfort for the money than many other luxury hotels. If you want a lobby experience, look elsewhere. But why spend time in a lobby when you can have a delightful living room and kitchen at your disposal. Bed and bathroom were great. We only stayed here one night but it was a great experience. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they answered a lot of questions. The rooms were very clean. Although they say the room does not include breakfast, they supply you with cereal, milk, coffee, tea, bread, jam, butter... The Knights Residence is much nicer than an ordinary hotel. My wife and I only had a few days in Edinburgh, but I would definitely stay at the Knights Residence again. It was very comfortable and a great location. It was great having a bedroom, a living room with a small dinning area, and a kitchen. It allows you to spread out and relax. The manager […] pointed out a local grocery store where we picked up a few items to eat in our apartment. The location was very nice since it was only a short walk to the Edinburgh castle. My minor complaint was the washer/dryer unit. Since the washer/dryer unit is one machine, you can't wash one load while drying another. This definitely limits the amount of laundry you can do in an evening. The machine was also a bit confusing to use. We had to ask for instruction on how to run the dryer. We did discover the instruction pack under the kitchen sink and those manuals helped clear up a few things about the washer/dryer controls (such as the built-in door lock that can take up to two minutes before releasing so you can't just walk up to the machine and open it when you want to). The kitchen has a lot of room, so I would prefer to see a stacked washer with a separate dryer on top to replace the single washer/dryer unit. I would also add some suitcase stands to each apartment. The Knight Residence was a very good value. the staff was attentive, the apartment was clean and well stocked, and the beds were comfortable. The only negatives I would have are location: several "gentleman's clubs" in the immediate vicinity could be a problem with small children. The neighbohood tended to be noud at night. The location, while very […] close to Grass market and the Castle, could be a problem, again, if a family with small children were staying. That being said we loved the experience. The apartments and our welcome there was excellent and was like home from home :-) The only negative for us was the location, the apartments are neighbours to 3 strip clubs on each corner (not that this was really a problem), however it is a good location for the grassmarket and Princes Street so just depends on what suits you ;-)

First try of an apartotel and if they are all like the knights residence I am a convert! Very professional staff at reception and very helpful. Comprehensive breakfast pack and well equipped kitchen. Bags of space and very comfortable. One regret ...having to go home!!

Alles klasse, nur der Kühlschrank könnte eine Grundreinigung gebrauchen. Sehr empfehlenswert. Vieles zu Fuß zu erreichen

Nada más llegar la atención fue muy buena explicándonos el personal del hotel todos los detalles para una estancia placentera. El hotel tiene dos baños completos y dos habitaciones dobles además de sofá-cama, ideal para 4 ó 5 personas. Estuvimos en Navidad y estaba decorado el salón con un abeto con luces navideñas... todo un detalle. La calidad del […] moviliario y limpieza es bastante aceptable y su situación, a 5 minutos de las faldas del castillo hacen que esté muy bien ubicado. Our two-bedroom apartment was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped, the welcome-basket with cereals, jams and biscuits was a nice bonus. Especially we appreciated on-the-house dishwasher tablets etc. Often in similar apartments you have to buy everything yourself. We had booked a little apartment ( one bedroom and a sitting room) because we were travelling with an 11 year old. The Knigh´s Residence proved to be a very good choice for us. The staff was very friendly and the little apartment both quiet and well-equipped for our needs. Since we were staying in a couple of nights we were happy to find a good selection […] of DVD´s suitable for our 11 year old near the reception and a good TV- set in the apartment. Veldig bra beliggenhet nærme Edinburgh castle og Royal mile(ca. 5-10 min gange). Vi fikk veldig god service av hyggelige hotellansatte. Anbefales på det sterkeste.

Más que un hotel son apartamentos muy bien situados. Supermercado debajo que abre hasta tarde. No incluye el desayuno pero te dejan todo lo necesario para desayunar durante varios días como regalo de cortesía. Vi hadde en fantastisk weekend på The Knights residence! Flott leilighet med alle fasiliteter og bra beliggenhet i nærheten av Grassmarket med mange bra barer/restauranter. vi ble veldig overrasket da vi kom til hotellet - positivt ! super beliggenhet til alt det viktigste i byen. og den plassen i leligheten !! Og den personen som tok oss i mot da vi kom ; vi fikk en meget utførlig forklaring på alt vi skulle trenge å vite. Fomos de Londres para Edimburgo de carro e, devido ao mau tempo, a viagem durou mais que o esperado e nossa chegada acabou ocorrendo além das 23:00h. Ainda no caminho, liguei para o Hotel e fui muito bem atendido pelo Sr. Christopher Michaels, que prontamente me deu um código numérico para acesso ao prédio principal e avisou que deixaria as chaves num […] cofre acompanhadas do controle do portão da garagem. Chegamos ao hotel e estava tudo lá, perfeito. Ao entrarmos no apartamento, fomos surpreendidos por uma cesta de boas vindas com leite, pão, manteiga, geléia e cereais, para que pudéssemos comer algo (já era quase meia-noite e eles sabiam que não encontraríamos nada aberto para comprar comida). No dia seguinte, recebemos várias recomendações de passeios, todas excelentes. E sempre que necessitamos de algo no apartamento, fomos prontamente atendidos. A qualidade das instalações também é muito boa, com destaque para as camas e a cozinha, muitíssimo bem equipada com equipamentos e louça de boa qualidade e na quantidade necessária. Hotellet ligger veldig sentralt i Edinburg, med gangavstand til attraksjoner, spisesteder og butikker. Resepsjonen var hyggelig og behjelpelig. Leilighetene var fine og godt utstyrt.

Veldig bra hotell / leilighet . Romslige rom med fin kjøkkenkrok. Bra beliggenhet , kort vei til slottet . Ligger her ved neste besøk.

Leilighetshotellet hadde fått svært gode tilbakemeldinger fra brukere og viste seg å være nettopp det - veldig bra. Flott beliggenhet, store og romslige værelser og flott betjening. Vegg til vegg-tepper går bra i Skottland! Frokostpakken holdt til hele oppholdet og butikken var uansett i nærheten. Stille og rolig område, dog i nærheten av distriktets […] strippeklubber... Very comfortable and nice apartments, extremely kind service. The area is close to Grassmarket and Edinburgh Castle but the neighbourhood is maybe a little too colourful with convenient supermarket as well as various strip clubs.. On the other hand it is the charm of a city! I can truly recommend it for a shorter or longer stay in Edinburgh.

Nice, clean and spacious apartments in walking distance to all main attractions in the heart of Edinburgh. Good kitchen facilities gets both thumbs up. Will visit the Knight Residence again..definitely.

Super fint lejlighedshotel. Meget pænt og rent med virkelig højt serviceniveau. Fin beliggenhed - særligt hvis man har mod på et lidt kullørt nabolag.

The Knight Residence was very modern and comfort place to stay, truly a home away from home. The location was excellent; near old and new town. I would recommend it to any traveller.

Mooi appartement met alle faciliteiten. Het personeel was zeer vriendelijk. De ligging is ideaal, op wandelafstand van alle bezienswaardigheden in Edinburgh. Bij aankomst stond er melk klaar in de koelkast, koekjes, brood enz. Flotte leiligheter, sentralt beliggende. Veldig bra frokostpakke som gave ved ankomst. Hyggelig og i møtekommende betjening. Gangavstand til Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street, Grassmarket og andre severdigheter. Eneste som kan være minus er en del strippebarer i nærheten av The Knight Residence, dette plaget overhode ikke oss, men er kanskje ikke drømmen […] for barnefamilier eller damer på tur. Dette hotellet er et perfekt utgangspunkt for en langhelg i Edinburgh. Leiligheten har alt du trenger og selv om det er self service hadde staben kjøpt inn alt vi trengte til frokost dagen etter. Det var herlig å våkne opp i sin "egen" lelighet. Etter en god frokost var det bare å spasere rett ut i sentrum. Hotellet ligger mycket bra placerat i Centrala Edinburgh, 3min promenad till mataffarer och caffeer, 4 min promenad till Grassmarket, 8 min till Royal Mile. Utmärkt bemotande, hjalpsamma och frukostkorgen var helt OK (flingor, brod, mjolk marmelad, pulverkaffe). The rooms were splendid. The bathrooms was wear and tear. The showers was'nt exactly cascades of water. But that did'nt matter, because the rest was fabulous. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and we felt very much at home.

Overraskende godt hotel med god og venlig service. Vi boede i en lejlighed med seperat køkken, stue og soveværelse, og der manglede intet andet end mere plads til mine mange medbragte toiletting. Da vi kom, stod en morgenmadspakke klar med brød, smør, cereal og mælk, og det holdt stort set til alle vores 4 overnatninger.
