Ocotal Beach Resort - Guanacaste – wybrzeże północnego Pacyfiku

Ocotal Beach Resort was a nice hotel tucked away. Only 30 minutes from Liberia airport and secluded too. The arroz con camarones (rice with shrimp) was absolutely delicious in the restaurant hotel. Definitely worth staying a few nights.

The location of the hotel was wonderful. To wake up every morning and see Ocotal beach was a treat. Everything was a advertised. The only problem was, the wifi service didnt work in the bungalows.

Nice hotel..pools are very basic and small, a beach not very close..short drive to small tourist town with plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping..More of a queit resort if that is what you are looking for..Nice breakfest.

You have to be in good physical shape to stay at this hotel! We grew to love the little path to get to and from the beach but it was challenging at first because of its high incline. Saw a lot of wildlife! We did not particularly like Guanacaste as much as other more lush areas of Costa Rica. It was very arid. I spent to days 16th and 17th of feb 2012. The views are amazing. The food was great, the bed was very comfortable. The accomadations were very clean, there was hot water and really good pressure in the shower. over all I would recommand this place very quiet and peaceful.

Great location! Beautiful views of pacific right from room. Black sand beach not so appealing. Hotel in need of renovation and upkeep. Great location with potential if some renovation done!

The most impressive feature of the Ocotal is the view of the Pacific from every room! The hotel is perched on a high cliff overlooking the Pacific. The grounds are well maintained with palm trees, flowering bushes, etc. My favorite part of the day was drinking coffee (made in the room) from our small patio outside our room overlooking the ocean. (The […] patio is not private.) Occasionally, we had outside visitors in the form of iguanas and Costa Rica's version of our raccoon. They were fun to watch, and before we were gone, they all had nicknames. Breakfast, which comes with the room, is served in an outdoor area also with a beautiful view of the Pacific. On the first night, we ordered dinner off the menu and it was very good. However, the breakfast buffet was just average. An expensive buffet was served during our additional evenings at the hotel which we declined. During those times, evening room service was also not available. The hotel has a black sand beach which is surprisingly cool to the touch. There's a long walk downhill to get to the beach or you can drive. And, there are local food vendors on the beach selling excellent seafood. The water was a little murky, but otherwise pleasantly refreshing. The hotel also has free internet service in each room which all of us, kids included, used and appreciated. The rooms are nice and comfortable, but not luxurious. The price was very reasonable for Christmastime. The staff is friendly and well-intentioned, but does not always come through. I would highly recommend the hotel for its views and moderate price. It is a "quiet" hotel, though, so it is not the place to meet new people or engage in a lot of activities. It is an excellent place, however, to wind down and relax. Przeczytaj więcej

My stay at the location was very nice. My only problem was the hot water in the shower. Myself nor any of my friends could get it hot enough, at most it got lukewarm. Since I only stayed there 2 days and didn't spend much time at the hotel I didn't report the issue to the manger but that was my main problem with my room.

The view is beautiful,the rooms comfortable and clean and the breakfast is great.However that is about it.The beach is small,with black sand,wild dogs,and loaded with boats.The gym equipment is broken and the whole resort is in need of a renovation.There is absolutely nothing there and you can't drive in the area after dark.Two maybe three days there […] is fine.Unfortunately we were booked for eight days and left after three.Since we prepaid through Hotels.com we couldn't get refunded for checking out early. Ocotal Beach Resort was a beautiful, comfortable hotel. We were in the Sunset Suite with a room overlooking the panoramic view of the water and right next to the infinity pool - couldn't have been nicer. Breakfast buffet is included and also overlooks the water, and there are many opportunities to spot local wildlife like colorful birds and iguanas. […] Only inconvenience is that it's somewhat far out of town and not easy to get to unless you drive or have a (somewhat expensive) taxi ride. This was one of our best vacation ever. Although we stayed for weekend but hotel was very nice and so the staff. Very help full and very fluent in English. Makes much easier if you do not speak word of Spanish. We did rent a car would be the best option if you can. Hotel is about 22KM from Liberia Airport. The people and atmosphere are friendly and warm. A view of the most amazing types from a cliff side to ocean beach front. The natural beauty of the coastline and the relaxed calming smiles of all the people around you makes this a great vacation resort.

Nice place, little hard to find. Rented a suite that overlooked the water, was awesome, but it seemed that most standard rooms had great views with a little porch area out front. The only difference between a suite and a bunglow is the spa pool which is not heated. The main deck were you eat has great views. Stayed their very early in the traveling […] season so almost nobody there. We were a little disappointed about all the construction and nothing being open like the hot tub or the pool side bar. The staff is very nice and it had lots of security people which makes you feel safe. The free breakfeast is ok, but again they didn't have all the things on the menu probably because it was so early. Beach is not to great, but Playa de coco is really close and has a great beach. If you get sick of rice and beans "Father of Chicken" or some name like that is right next to the hotel and has good food, more american, I would compare it to an Apple B's. Very nice hotel with incredible ocean views. Clean, quiet (at least during rainy season) and about as close to the beach as possible. Staff was very friendly with the exception of the young man who was running the desk, who was very condescending. Meal options were limited, but it might have been because of the time of year.

The grounds and views from this clifftop hotel are amazing and the customer service can't be beat. However, the restaurant is ridiculously expensive and has limited hours...like other reviews said, head a few steps down the black sand beach to Father Rooster...great staff andn fabulous food and drink! I share many of the other reviewers' sentiments in saying that the accomodations were adequate, if a bit outdated, but the hotel's location high on a hill with a sweeping view of the pacific was priceless. The hotel offers an included full breakfast which I thought had enough variety for most people. The hotel also has a variety of wildlife - iguanas, […] birds and a monkey (which we heard about but never saw) that will join you when you're eating on their patio or at the pool. They were great fun. Less fun were some of the insects that managed to find their way into our room on a couple of occasions. The people working there are very sweet and kind and will go out of their way for you. It is only about 20 minutes from Liberia Airport which is an easy drive. The one restaurant on property overlooks the beautiful ocean and mountains. They have the best scuba instructors my son got his license and they were excellent. If you want to Jet Ski it is right […] there. Our room you could walk right out and we were only like 100 feet from the water. By the pool they make the best Fruit Punch It is made from watermelon, bananas, mango, papaya, pineapples, cantaloupe, oranges and ice wow how refreshing and delicious. There is a restaurant you can walk to on the beach 5 minutes away called Father Rooster they have the BEST nachos in the world and we loved their Mai Mai fish plus such a beautiful view over looking the ocean. What is neat is the town is only 10 minutes away and they have plenty of shops and restaurants everyone is so loving and kind. Also we did the Zip-Line which is only 20 minutes away called Congo Trail excellent set up you get 11 zips a few hanging bridges, then after that there is a place you can play with supervision the white face monkies, a butterfly museum and a reptile area. The cost was really cheap only $35.00 for the Zip-Lines and if you want to do the monkies, etc. another $5.00. We rented a car and drove but if you have someone take you check out the prices first because that would be the expensive part. We ate at a restaurant in Town called Hotel Coco & Palms excellent food and nice atmosphere. Oh at the hotel make sure you go to the restaurant where you get your breakfast that Was another plus it is included with the room and what a delicious breakfast....fresh fruit, pastries, French Toast, they are making you eggs, bacon. sausage, ham. Etc. Plus they always have two types of fresh juice. But that restaurant has the best Tres Leches it is a traditional cake dipped in 3 types of milk it was so moist and delicious. When I visited this hotel at sunset I was blown away. The view is absolutely stunning. I came back to stay a few days later and wasn't as happy. First, I had to ask the receptionist to call someone to help me with my luggage. They did not offer, even though I had two bags. Second, when I first lay on one bed, I got bitten several times, so I had to […] move to the other bed. The bedroom was o.k., and very well located in front of the ocean, but the bathrooms are quite old. Also, the safe was completely broken, and when I asked to get a new one, it took them about 3 hours to get it replaced. The hairdryer was also broken...The breakfast was o.k., but it could be better. Beautiful place to truely relax with piece and quiet and excellent service. Rooms are semi dated but very comfortable with down comforters. Watch out for the raccoons as they will enter your room in the afternoon and at night if you don't lock the door. This hotel has wonderful views and great service. Breakfast is excellent (order: Desayuno Tipico) and the wildlife accompanies you throughout your day. Blue Jays or Garrobos at breakfast, land crabs throughout the day and Racoons in the evenings. My husband and I were exceedingly pleased with the Ocotal Beach Resort. We chose the resort because it was one of few in the area that offer completely in-house scuba diving certification courses. The course was awesome, but so was the stay! We checked in after hours- the hotel was a little hard to find and behind a few security gates. Once inside, […] we got to our room and were very impressed- the room was a little on the small side, but had a large bed, a flat screen TV, and charming decor. The bathroom was older but clean. It was perfect for the price we paid. In the morning, I woke up to one of the most beautiful views! The hotel is located on a bluff right along the pacific ocean! If you can, request a room in the 400s- this group of rooms is at the highest point (requiring a little bit of a hike) but they have the best views. Sunsets too were amazing. Breakfast in the reastaurant was always delicious and timely. Dive shop services were great. Ocotal is about 5-7 minutes from Playa del Cocos which has a nice array of restuarants if you want to do something different than the hotel. Towels and pillows could have been nicer...but that's being really nit-picky. Overall, if you are looking for a "resort" in the sense of someone waiting on you all the time with spas and flowers and massages, etc Ocotal is probably not your best bet. I stayed there a few times over the years. It has always been clean,the service is top notch and the view is increadable. It is a great place to go with the family. It is private and quiet. But playa Coco and the night life is very close.

El bungalow muy espacioso. A/c le falta potencia. Hay escasez de personal asi q el servicio es deficiente. No solucionan cualquier problema de mantenimiento q se presente. La playa es super contaminada. El servicio del snAck bar en piscina es pesimo. La vista al mar en bungalow y restaurante es inigualable, preciosa. No volveria.

ME SIGUE GUSTANDO, ES UN LUGAR PRECIOSO Y TRANQUILO.

Recomiendo este lugar por su tranquilidad y hermosa vista, es hermoso disfrutar de sus paisajes, asi tambien por el personal son personas que transmiten armonia y tranquilidad su manera de atender siempre con una sonrisa.

全体的に満足ですが、プールやダイビングサービスに降りていくトレイルは坂道で、往復がかなり大変。 レストランのバフェ、アラカルトともにもう少しメニャー品目があればいい。

Muy tranquilo, piscinas en todo alrededor del hotel, excelente vista, recomendado para parejas, desayuno variado y muy rico, cena en una porción más pequeña, habitación cómoda, buena atención, seguro.

Los aspectos negativos : la playa queda muy lejos y el restaurante no tenía muchas opciones para cenar la noche que estuvimos por ahí, eso si, lo que consumimos estaba muy bueno. Me parece si tienen que mejorar un poco las instalaciones de piscinas y algunas partes de los edificios, ya se ven u poco desgastados por el pasar del tiempo. Es una lástima que el Hotel no tuviera mantenimiento alguno. Sería mejor que cerraran al público en temporada baja, esto para no causar molestias e incomodidades al huesped.

Una característica notable de este hotel es su abundante vegetación y su cuidadosa conservación, esto unido a su buen servicio posibilitan una estancia muy agradable en él.
