I was surprised at the quality of service and decor inside as this building doesn't look great from the iutside

Staff were very friendly and professional, room and gym/pool facilities were excellent. The food was good, and the only thing I would change is to ask for toast to be waitress served at breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance of most city visitor attractions. The Reception staff and the breakfast waiting staff provided a very good service. The rooms were clean and spacious. The only disappointment was the one evening meal we had in the resturant - the food was not clearly described on the menu and there were almost no accompaning veg […] etables. Przeczytaj więcej

We've stayed in this hotel many times over the years, and have always enjoyed it. The rooms are spacious, and the leisure area (pool, gym, sauna etc) is great. We booked a stay that involved dinner on our first night - and to be honest, although the food was tasty, there certainly wasn't a great choice (I'm a vegetarian, but my partner isn't) and we […] only found out when we were leaving that we had to pay for side dishes (veg, salad etc). Furthermore, the starters were more like canapes than starters - I thought nouvelle cuisine went out of fashion in the 90's!!! I would give dinner a miss, but thankfully breakfast makes up for it. Locationwise, there are more central hotels, as it is a good 10 minute walk to the city centre (not great in the wind / dark). Parking is also limited at the hotel. Great hotel, and service, much cheaper than other hotels in the area AND better...no brainer ;-)

Hotel room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and polite. Bathroom was clean with a great shower. Big let down was the breakfast, overcooked and not enjoyable. Definately not good for a hotel of this standard, I've tasted better at a roadside cafe'. All in 4 out of 5. i would recommend staying there, but plan a breakfast elsewhere.

Had a lovely stay in the Menzies Hotel in Glasgow, although we were very dissapointed on the 2nd morning to be asked to pay for our breakfast, which was £9.95 each in cash. Our reservation was for 2 nights bed & breakfast, ther was no mention on our booking form of breakfast not to be included on day 2.

This was my 1st visit to the Menzies as my usual hotel was fully booked up this time, and I visit Glasgow every three weeks so up there a lot. The hotel is not too far from shops etc if you fancy a 10 - 15 Min walk... Stayed in an Executive Double which was well appointed, had a couple of easy chairs and a small sofa & table as well as a decent sized […] bed, flat screen TV , which could have been bigger considering the size of the room. Small free mini bar with some ginger ale, tonic & still water which was nice, however, no bottle opener to open the mixers !.. There was an ice machine near the lift also. Room came with free wifi, but that was more or less useless as had very slow speed and I had to keep signing in all the time, in the end, used my own 3G instead. Didn't use the restaurant for dinner, but breakfast was ok, buffet style, and they serve fresh brewed coffee which was nice. Had to pay to use their car park, but given the price of the room, this should have been included for free in my opinion. May well stay again if my 1st choice hotel is booked up again. Great hotel, well located for all facilities and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our meal at night was fantastic and great value for money. Will definitely consider going back.

Had an overnight stay here 29th December. Used to really like this hotel but it's looking + feeling "tired" I'm afraid. First room we were offered smelled damp and fausty + had large damp patch over by window area. I asked to be moved and the receptionist did this for us. Second room was better but furnishings are looking a bit used to be honest. Bar […] prices prohibitive - over £6 for a beer and a coffee! Breakfast finished way too soon for me at 9.30am and checkout is early at 11am. For the money we paid, we expected better. Next time we'll go back to the Marriott or the Mint. Przeczytaj więcej

The party night and overnight stay in apartment no 13 was NOT unlucky - best night out in years. All first class. Rooms had everything we needed. Facilities excellent. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definately return.

Close to city centre, good restaurants near by and the hotel has brilliant spa facilities

The charge for use of the hotel car park seemed to be rather stingy as there is no option. A hidden surcharge rather. Well situated hotel for city-centre and in a quiet location with good sound-proofing. Excellent buffet breakfast and friendly informative staff.

We chose the hotel for its location to both the central railway station and the SECC, an added bonus for us was the Ferry which was just behind the hotel, and where we wished to attend a gig. The staff in every department were extremely helpful and pleasant and the managment should be very proud of them. We didnt have time to use the swimming pool etc, […] but plenty of people were and it looked very nice, maybe next time we will have more time. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice and specials cooked to order, however we were happy enough with what was already there. Some areas of the hotel could do with refurbishment, the carpet was worn in our floor lobby, and our wasbasin had a crack in it, but overall it was clean and the room was fine. The location is next to the motorway, but we were not disturbed by any traffic noise. Also there is some redevelopment surrounding the hotel, which do not make for the prettiest of surroundings. This was our 5th visit to Glasgow in the last 2 years, and we have tried 5 different hotels, and I would rate our stay at Menzies as our most positive, and would definitely recommend it for the outstanding staff. This unstylish but comfortable, clean and efficient hotel is somewhat of a bargain. It's in what appears to be a somewhat industrial and run down neighbourhood, but is, in fact, only about a 10 minute walk from the central station and central city. Overall a great stay, but a couple of problems. In the room we had the first night, the toilet was broken - wouldn't flush and kept running. A man was sent up to fix it though we had to call a couple of times before someone came. The young man was seemingly run off his feet that night - working a private function, helping at front desk and then sent […] to fix our toilet. He was in our room at least half an hour, though he had fixed it, but no. We kept the bathroom door closed as the loud running water noise was annoying. We removed the back of the tank and managed to flush it a few times. So, not the best. The next day we were moved to another room, which was great - three windows all of which opened, a sitting area and great bed!! It was our last stint after travelling Ireland and England so the extra space was much appreciated. Had dinner in the bar our last night. The wait was more than an hour. Not convenient as we had planned to grab a quick bite, which didn't happen. And, they got my order wrong, but at that point ate it anyway. Food was just okay. we have stayed at this hotel on a numder of occassions and find the hotel and staff to be excellent we were fortunate to be upgraded to an executive room which was very nice indeed . the leisure suite and facilities are first class and we will continue to use this hotel any time we are staying in glasgow

The Menzies Hotel in Glasgow has very helpful staff. The pool area is wonderful. It is a little out of the way, but the pool makes up for it. The only computer available to the guests is one at the front desk and that does not have a printer. However, staff are very willing to share it. The bar restaurant is a good choice on a rainy night. My daughter and i stayed at the Manzies Hotel Glasgow and had an excellent stay. We were upgraded (free of charge) to an apartment and it was perfect. There was an air of "loft style" living about it. There was a complementary soft drinks bar with chocolate, crisps and nuts - a lovely touch and much appreciated. This makes the stay a bit more special. […] The whole place was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit and a lovely buffet hot breakfast - everything you would need. The service was very efficient. Overall we had an excellent stay and will be returning to the hotel when next back in Glasgow. We got a really good deal through Hotels.com so we were two very happy people!! We had an excellent service and all our needs were supplied by a willing and most pleasant Staff. The leisure centre was most enjoyable andspotlessly clean. All Staff were herlpful and Friendly which all proved to make our stay that bit more enjoyable. Food was plentiful and with a good selection on the menus. I would have no hesitation in recommening […] the Menzies Hotel with all that was on offer. The location was superb to visit the many sites on offer in Glasgow . Stayed here one night ,and will stay again as i have business trips regulary in Scotland every month, good gym,swimming facilities and also good food which was not over facing, great hotel.

A good hotel which is friendly and clean. It is a little bit of a shock when you see the surrounding area of the hotel but there are no problems. It is a 10min walk into town centre and the 'City Tours' bus service is right outside the hotel . Taxi costs £3.20 from central station.

I have stayed here before and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a stay in Glasgow. I have stayed in many hotels in Glasgow from 2* to 5* and found Menzies to be the top of the pile !!!

Fairly well placed in Glasgow and with a very good pool, sauna and hammam Good sized, quality rooms best to book via internet for a fair room rate

struggled with the internet connection - food was great but they charged £0.75 for an extra bread roll which i thought was a bit much when me and my 10 year old son had spent £50 on a 2 course meal.

Absolutely shocking surroundings, scary car park, your heart sinks as you approach. On the inside, the hotel is pleasant, the staff are friendly. Swimmingpool is overlooked by all in the hotel bar (Not great for those slightly self conscience) but good sports / swimming facilities for no additional charge. Room was large & clean, flat screen tv etc. […] Restaurant choices were poor, you could see other diners trying to pick something, anything. Surrounding building sites / motorway feet away made quite a lot of noise. Lovely hotel, reasonable location and within walking distance to city centre. Staff were very helpful, if a little criticism can be made some of their English was poor which in the hospitality industry is not ideal. The room was clean and tidy and the leisure facilities were ideal for our requirements. The bar was a little pricey and poorly attended. […] Breakfast was adequate but not to a great standard, poor choice and not monitored for replenishment. good hotel, convenient location to shops, great breakfast!!

We chose the Menzies for its proximity to road networks as this was a one-night stay prior to travelling to Loch Lomond so we knew that it would not be in the loveliest area but on approaching it, we felt as if we were entering some abandoned industrial estate. Fortunately once we were inside, things were much better. Staff were friendly and efficient; […] the rooms were spacious and as you would expect for a 4-star property. The public areas lacked a little character and it was clear - from the coach party that descended on the bar while we were there - that the hotel is a popular choice with groups. I'm not sure I would have wanted to stay for more than one night and I certainly wouldn't have wanted to walk back to the hotel at night but would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Likely the quietest hotel in town ( a dead end street). The hot tub/spa and the pool are full to the brim and are just the right temperature. Five minutes walk to Central Station, but 15 minute walk to Queen Street Station.

A lovely, spacious room wilth all amenities. Complete hotel services including swimming pool and Spa. Great breakfast! On the edge of the centre, about a ten minute walk to the commercial area but a tour bus stop right outside.

I booked this hotel because of the convenient location. It was within walking distance from both Central Station and Queen Street Station as well as the shopping on Argyle Street and Buchanan Street. Restaurants are also close by. Originally, I booked the hotel for 3 nights starting on August 18 but ended up changing our plans and booking an additional […] night for August 17. When we arrived, the only room that was available was a twin apartment and we were advised that we would have to check out of this room on the 18th and move to a twin room, which we understood and didn't have a problem with. When we entered our "apartment", we were amazed. It had a separate bedroom with two very comfy twin beds as well as a large screen television. There was a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting area with two large chairs and a love seat and, of course, a large screen television. We liked it so much, we decided to see if we could stay there and pay the difference, which we were able to do. This 4 star hotel is clean and comfortable. Best of all is its location, being next to a train and bus station (just outside of the hotel) and 10 to 15 minutes walking to the convention center and 10 to 15 minutes walking to the main train station and downtown.

Overall very good experience at this hotel. Oute difficult to find the actual entrance if you are driving could be sign posted better. Otherwise a very pleasing hotel

Excellent. we will use Menzies Hotel on our next trip to Scotland.
