Good hotel for a good price. Not bad for overnight stay. The bed really hard, but everything else was good.
"It is was okay"
The hotel was cheap and I liked that, but I asked for non-smoking but the room was stinking from the last customers cigerette smoke. My eyes burnt the entire night. I didnt complain because I was just staying overnight, but it was horrible. Also they but me in room 271. overall good deal for the money. the beds were NOT so hot at all. the staff was helpful & welcoming...& of course 10x better than staying with family LOL

"My Hotel Stay"
My hotel stay was very pleasant...The only issue I had occurred during the check in process. The hotel receptionist did have a FAX with my confirmation number on it. I tried to give her my confirmation number but she wouldn't accept it, she stated she had to have a FAX from hotels.com. She was able to search on the internet and find what she needed […] but only after I insisted she do so as I'd already paid and wasn't going to pay again. Awful breakfast
"Um....just ok!"
A decent hotel for the price paid. Don't stay on the weekend, if you want quietness b/c this hotel is connected to a club. No bedbugs, but it was a little dirty behind tables, and there were a few cracks in the walls. "Old Hickory Inn"
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. For what was charged this hotel provided a great value. You are definitely not staying at the Ritz but the room was clean, warm and in good repair. The internet connection was strong and the staff was very pleasant. I won't hesitate to stay here again next time I am in Jackson.

The room was good, with very good beds. It was quite, even though it was near the main road. The pool+ hottub were to die for, clean+ heated!!
I have stayed at the old hickory quite a few times.I have no complaints and the employees were friendly and courteous.The continental breakfast was good also.

"good and bad"
i would recommend this hotel because its located great for late night fun...but the rooms could be a lot cleaner and new beds would be great.
"Traveling thru"
This was our 2nd stay. First time thru was very impressed with the accomodations for the price. Couldn't say enough about the hotel. This stay was disappointing. maybe they haven't upgraded all the rooms or something. Price was still great deal and room represented the great deal. I felt it was dirty and partiers all night long.

"Old Hickory Inn in Jackson TN"
We were very surprise about how comfortable we slept in the bed. They just need to work on the complimentary breakfast.
"Not a good Place"
We were suppose to be in a no smokinig hotel Neighbors were smoking and it came through to our room under the adjoining room door. It was very noisey with kids running up and down the side walk. we had no toilet paper in the room nor bath linens. I had to go buy air freshner to spray the room it smelled so bad.

First room we got had little roaches in bathroom and stains on the linens. We asked for another room and the clerk was very nice and gave us another room, and she also had stated the customer before me had said the same thing and was not pleased with his room. Customer Service was very nice but the rooms were not clean.

"convient and great price"
everything has been updated but the carpet which was dirty to the eye...made me hate to walk on it after a shower....
I only needed the room for the evening & after reading Google reviews was hesitant to try it. But after seeing the same amount of reviews but POSITIVE, I decided to chance it. This is a nice place to stay, I have paid much more for hotel rooms and got a lot less. Friday night we went to the night club Boogie Nights and had a great time.

The bed was ok, and the bathroom and TV were ok at best, but once you get settled in for the night and decide to go to sleep, all the real trouble starts. There is a bar in the hotel, and a bar right behind the hotel, and a massive night club immediately behind the hotel. The music began at a very lod volume around 9:00 and continued until 3:00 when […] the police came and wailed their sirens at full volume to clear the place out. That went on for at least half an hour. When I talked to the deskclerk, he told me that it was his job to book rooms, and he could do nothing about the noise. He said it was unfortunate, but very kindly said it was too bad we had to deal with it. Since we had prepaid for the room, we were stuck. We got the hotel at a great price, and if it were not for the loud night clubs, it was fair, but if you have any intention of sleeping before 3:00 AM, this is not a good place to stay. Very plain jane. Soap but nothing else. Your basically getting a cheap room for the night and that's it.

This was the cheapest hotel I found in Jackson, TN, and when you consider the price, the hotel is great. Air conditioner was GREAT. The shower heads were brand new. And the free breakfast was filling. It ain't The Ritz, but if you stay here, you shouldn't be expecting that.

Surrounding area kind of seedy, but hotel does have surveillance (we moved with truck and trailer and it was safe and untouched) Right off highway, room clean. I was not happy with my stay, because the cable was not clear on the TV and the bed matress was hard and the sheets were very itchy.

The expression of "you get what you pay for" has never been truer this hotel. While contently located near the hospital (we were there to visit family in the local hospital) the place was dirty and noisy. The walls in the shower at first looked grayed from time but then I ran my finger over it and the gray came off!! The hotel has a nightclub and people […] from the club kept walking by the room until after the club closed. The walking by is not a problem but the drunken yelling was. Oh and by the way the pool is a lovely shade of green. I have just one word for that "SHOCK" it's a treatment for pools and easily obtained at the local retail store. The hotel has a sign stating "under new management" unless there are great improvements I am not sure I would want to brag I was a new owner of a hotel that looks this bad once you get past the pleasant front view. And oh by the way...if you want a “do not disturb” sign for your door you have to sign it out at the front desk. "Clean Place to Sleep"
My husband and I have had terrible luck with Memphis hotels so we decided to try this hotel in Jackson for a one night stay on our way from NC to CO. We have a dog and many hotels in Memphis are not even clean enough for a dog. Not sure why that is, but anyway .... this hotel was exactly what we expected: an inexpensive, clean place to stop and sleep. […] Nothing fancy. A bit old, but clean. Definitely worth the money. We plan to stay there again and unlike other hotels in Memphis, our dog was not afraid of the carpet. Plus! And we could park our vehicles full of kayak gear and off-road motorcycle gear (with trailer of motorcycles) in the parking lot and they were captured on security cameras (also a plus in Memphis). My husband, who has family in Memphis, suggested we stay in Jackson and I found this hotel online. For the people who say it's the worst hotel ever, you've got to be kidding me. For sure 20 miles down the road is the worst hotel complete with roaches in the bath, coffee machines uncleaned from previous tenant and trash cans ripe with black goo. The Old Hickory Inn was clean, included little fridges and microwaves and had great internet. They also provided spring water in the lobby and a breakfast with biscuits and gravy. We didn't eat the breakfast because we don't eat white flour but if we had been in the mood for a white flour breakfast, it looked yummy and the other guests were eating it up. The truth is we booked this room, because it was cheap and it was a good stopping point on our 26 hour drive. We arrived late and we were the last reservation to check in, but the man at the desk was very nice & friendly. My first impression of the lobby was that it was run down & they were possibly doing some painting. However, because this was a Saturday […] night, the nightclub which is located very close to the lobby down a short hall was very busy which caused lots of hallway traffic and was very loud, but worst of all, made the lobby extremely smoky smelling. The man at the front desk, assured me that our room was far away from the noisy nightclub and that our vehicle would be safe as a nighttime patrolman is on duty all night. When we went to park at the rear of the hotel, near our room, we were a little put off by other questionable looking guests who seemed to be "hanging out" in the parking lot (possibly returning from the nightclub). My kids were referring to the other patrons as being scary looking. When we got to our room, the door was slightly open (which was a comment I saw on another review.....ODD), but I went in & surveyed the room, and it seemed uninhabited, other than the fountain drink that someone had left in the fridge. I would say the room cleanliness was acceptable, but because everything was was so run down & old, it just had a dirty feel to it. The beds were not comfortable. Pillows were awful. The room smelled smoky, even though the website boasts that all rooms are non-smoking. The best thing I can say about the room, other than the price, is that the A/C worked great and if there were any outside noises, we did not notice them. The next morning we went to get the breakfast which was okay. The kids were happy to have the biscuits & gravy. I would just say that for me, because the breakfast area is also in the lobby, it still seemed smoky to me & because it was so run down, it had a dirty feel to it. the room was dirty,bathroom was awfully dirty, baby pool was filty. when asked to have it cleaned was told i will see what i can do. hot water was out when we got in. breakfast was a joke. biscuits you had to heat up. the muffins were good. would not recomend to any one with children. for adults that would be ok.
"Worked for us."
We needed ajoining rooms and a good rate. The pool and breakfast made it very nice for us. One of the beds in our rooms was angled to the head slightly and not very comfortable. The rooms are not large, but are adequate. The staff was friendly and I loved the gravy and biscuits.

When I arrived at just before midnight, the clerk was nowhere to be found. I had to wait about 5 mintues for him to show up, and when he did he smelled like pot. I'm not offended by this, but I was unsure of what kind of room I was going to get by this time. He apologized profusely for being away from his desk, and he was very quick to get me a room. […] My room was downstairs by the pool. After reading other reviews I was worried that it would be loud, but in fact it was not. I had just traveled from deep south Texas and was ready for some sleep. The beds were comfortable enough, and the A/C worked great. I took a shower in the morning and noticed that the bath towels didn't seem to be very clean. Maybe they were just old. All in all, it wasn't a bad stay, and the price was unbeatable. "POOR cleanleyness and noise"
We arrived at the hotel and had made a reservation online 5 and a half hours before we got there and they were "out of rooms" and gave us a "wheel chair access" room. There was blood on the shower curtains, a piece of hairy tape on the wall, a dirty used q-tip behind the night stand where you plug in a cell phone or laptop, the towels were nearly folded […] and kinda hurled onto the racks, a condom wrapper by our car, and NOISE all night long of people coming and going from rooms... My current stay at the Old Hickory Inn in Jackson, Tn was very nice. Check in was at 3:00 and I had no problems checking into my room and obtaining my room key. The frony desk clerk was also very nice and polite. I would recommend any one to stay at the Old Hickory Inn in Jackson, Tn.

room was clean and comfortable. there is a lounge attached to the hotel so people coming and going neighborhood left something to be desired. i was a little worried about my vehicle even though it was right outside. breakfast area is super small and not very good but for a place to crash for one night it's okay
