"BW Las Espuelas, too expensive"
A two star hotel at CO highway speed price (Dec 6, 2011, booked online) for an evening, you'd be better off finding something else. The room was clean, minus a few ants. Breakfast was alright, but there is no noise insulation, so the kids playing in the middle area, and the staff's music filled our room as well. We stayed in Playas del Coco our last […] night, even with a 7:50am flight. Its only 15 minutes more to the airport and a days car rental cheaper than BW Las Espuelas. It's a last resort accommodation in our opinion. If it was priced a fiver under 2 School zones a night, we'd reconsider. Don't stay unless you have money to burn on sub-rate accommodation. While I was still in the states I read a lot of different reviews as I was deciding which hotel I would reserve a room at for the 2 nights of my layover. This hotel is indeed simpler as many have mentioned, but for the price in this area, it's a great deal and a fine hotel. A misconception of the poor staff reviews: If you don't speak spanish and you […] happen to come across an employee who isn't bilingual, of course the interaction will be shorter than one that would be able accommodate to your needs. The staff was very friendly and helped me with my bags when I arrived, directed me when I asked for directions, and called a taxi for me when I needed a ride to my destination. The only thing I would mention in a negative sense is ride from the airport to the hotel was 25 dollars. Now with the high gas prices, they're higher than the prices mentioned in other reviews and there is no shuttle. If you want more things to do, the other best western "El Sitio" is closer to the centro and has more things to do in walking distance. "Best Western Las Espuelas"
I spent one night here so I could catch a flight the next morning. It's about a 15 minute taxi ride from the Liberia airport and the taxi cost is 20$. The room was pretty standand Best Westerm style: fairly comfortable bed, good air conditioning, very clean. My telephone didn't work and even though there were many empty rooms, no offer was made to change […] and I ended up using the phone at the reception. I had a nice dinner of fish for about 10$ and the free breakfast included cereal,fruit, bread and coffee, tea or juice, There is a swimming pool and lounge chairs if you feel like suntanning but there does not seem to be anything interesting to do in the surrounding area. "Liberia bargain"
really nice motel along Inter-American highway, but far enough off road to ensure relative quiet. really nice big pool and landscaping. restaurant had local solid foods with little bar next to it. I ended up staying two nights and management was very nice to squeeze me in for second night. "A basic hotel for a short stay"
This is a basic hotel good for a night or two. Our room had a double and a twin bed and had the feeling of a 1970's motel. It is worth 2 stars at most. The Hotels.com rate was half of the rack rate.
