Overall the hotel was very clean and well maintained. Very disappointed, though, that we were not told ahead of time that the pool was not available. This was one of the main reasons we picked this hotel other than the accessibility of where we needed to be for our event. Friendly staff. Overall average at best. No ice machines were working. Had to get ice through the front desk. Non-smoking room smelled like smoked with perfume over it.

I loved my stay at the Country Inn and Suites! This hotel is about 9 miles from Charleston in Elkview, WV but it is within a stones throw of everything you need. I liked that is was set out. The views are amazing and it was very quiet. No parties on Friday or Saturday nights like you hear in most hotels. Breakfast was above average and there was a good […] selection. There are seven restaurants within walking distance. Everything from home style to Mexican and Chinese as well as two or three fast-food restaurants. The room was clean and seemed very private even though you were in a hotel full of people. The gym and pool area are not huge but they are very nice and well maintained. This hotel was close enough to Charleston/Huntington (approx. 11 miles or so) but far enough away to be quiet. Even though the hotel is close to the main road, there wasn't much in the way of road noise in our room. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. All in all, excellent value for the price.

This hotel is just plain old. The rooms smell old, the furnishings are from the 70's, the beds have dips in them and slope. The pillows are flat. There is also a very strange deck type ceiling in the rooms, I don't even know what to say about that. The hot tub was broken. The pool was a foggy lime green and not as warm as expected for an indoor pool. […] The pool also is too deep for small children starting at 4 feet rather than 3 feet. Breakfast was good though! The hotel staff was very friendly! However, the rooms definately need some upgrades. I have stayed in Country Inn & Suites before and I was expecting the same or similar surroundings. I was very disappointed. The room didn't seem clean. I immediately took the comforter off and found cigarette burns. There was also hair in the bathtub.

Practical for a 1 night stopover. Shops and quick meal restaurants close to the hotel. Otherwise nothing special.

I always check for bedbugs these days before I crawl into bed; but when I took the bedspread down to look at the sheets, I was shocked to notice the sheets were dirty and had not been changed after the previous guest. I was wiping away pieces of dirt or something. I called the manager and he came up right away with clean sheets which WE had to put on […] the bed (it was after 10:30 and we were tired). The coffee pot was broken and overflowed when we tried to make coffee the next morning. The breakfast area was dirty, needed painted and the chairs was also dirty. Elevators were dirty too. This hotel was a little out of our way but well worth the price and good night's sleep. We had travelled from St. Louis that day and had reserved 4 rooms for our family (7 adults and 5 children ages 8-15) on our way to North Carolina. The hotel was clean, near a great Mexican restaurant, and very kid-friendly. I was on a trip south and got in around 11 PM, left at 8:30 next morning so not there long. Breakfast was good. Parking is somewhat limited. The hotel is tucked away behind a McDonalds but handy off of I-79. Don't use the map on Hotels.com because it is totally wrong. I ended up on a 20 minute wild goose chase trying to find it using the map.

Clean, comfortable, and affordable. The breakfast was larger and the room was cleaner than I expected for the price I paid. Hotel staff was just as friendly when we arrived at 1 o'clock in the morning as they were when we checked out at 8 am. They had charming and inviting staff and reserving w/ hotels.com made it super-speedy to check in and out.

The property is undergoing renovations but that created no inconvenience.For my travel plans it was more conenient than the in-town location.The staff was courteous helpful and very friendly. The breakfast selection was great. There was plenty of seating and the breakfast servers were cheerful and couldn't have been more helpful. The exercise room could have used a once over lightly (cobwebs around AC unit), but otherwise this was a thumbs up experience and I'm looking for a Country Suites for our return trip home.

The hotel staff is friendly, and the hotel itself is in good condition. The rooms were clean, and the location was convenient, right off of Interstate 79. The surrounding neighborhood was safe and had a few restaurants, gas stations, and stores, but you have to drive at least ten minutes to find anything that is not in the immediate area since it seems […] a bit isolated. The breakfast was acceptable, although the hot food was sometimes not very fresh and starting to get cold. The Inn was very clean, easy access from the interstate and had the best continental breakfast in all the hotels we've visited.

Once we arrived, things couldnt have gone any better. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was perfect and lacked for nothing. The hotel location was PERFECT as there were plenty of places to eat and shop within 5 minutes walking distance. We would definitely stay there again! I had previously stayed at the hotel before and everything was outstanding. This time however was a different story. Our previous room had a fridge and a microwave this one however did not. The hallway had a horrible smell. The shower you could see had been semi cleaned but nothing like it should have been there was still hair on the wall in the shower. […] Overall I was just very disappointed and I will no longer choose to stay with them. The hotel staff went out of their way to help us. They ran out of air mattresses and went to the store, bought a mattress, a pump and batteries and had it back within an hour. All with no additional charge.

Over all our stay was fine. The building was on the verge of needing serious upgrading, but that seemed to in the works. All staff we encountered were competant and helpful.

Not bad for the price. We were a bit disappointed that the pool was closed for maintenance while we were there but that isn't the hotel's fault. The work out room was nice with a variety of exercise equipment. The continental FREE breakfast was great with a wonderful attendant who consistently cleaned surfaces and tables and replenished food and supplies […] when needed. The hotel is located off of I-79, which isn't convenient to those of us coming into Charleston via I-77, but it was only about 10 minutes out of the way. The hotel is in very good condition. It is a little tricky to get to since it is located in the parking lot of a larger shopping center. But not too bad. The decor in the lobby was very nice. Desk […] service was friendly and efficient. Room was a good size and contained a fridge, which was a nice surprise for us. The room was clean, for the most part, but the cleaning crew missed a used wash cloth. Pretty gross, but not a big deal. Bed was comfortable. The swimming pool was a little small and the jacuzzi just didn't work well at all. If those things are important to you... We checked in. They did not have the gift cards and knew nothing about it. We got to our room and the smoke detected keep beeping. Waited for maintanence to change battery. Beds were so low to the floor they were uncomfortable. Bathroom was disgusting. Dirt and dead bugs behind the door. Garbage on the floor by both bed frames. The hotel is a little difficult to find with GPS. The night desk person was very pleasant. The day one, however, was not. My bed and pillows were perfect. I have a bad back and am usually sore the next morning after a sleep on a hotel bed. That was not the case with this hotel. They have a great breakfast spread. A beautiful view of the mountains.
