"Not what I expected"
I didn't know this was a dog friendly hotel or a smoker hotel. It smelled horrible. I will not ever stay at a Red Roof Hotel again. Very dissatisfied.
"A good place to stay"
Everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast included biscuits and gravy. Service was personable and helpful.

Small selection for continental breakfast and carpets sticky in room bad smells
The staff was very helpful, but the overall appearance was a bit low end. In my room the tv displayed all the channels in black and white, the water wasn't very hot, and the guests in the room above mine sounded like they were a herd of cows about to come through my ceiling.

"Clean, comfortable and in our budget!"
Our daughter plays a sport at one of the colleges nearby, so we will be coming to OH alot to watch her play. We have tried many different hotels in the area and have found that if we don't pay over $100 a nite, we got gross hotels with uncomfortable rooms. Red Roof in Springfield was newly renovated, clean and the most comfortable room we have stayed […] in that didn't cost alot. "Right off the Interstate,very nice !!!"
Two of us needed a place close to the business at hand and after reading reviews of this particular Red Roof Inn, I didn't hesitate to make a reservation. Just what we needed for a good nights rest and a just right breakfast in the morning......

"No happy at all!!!"
I was very unhappy with my stay at Red Roof Inn. I originally booked a room with a frig & microwave. The room had neither. My sister was with me & when she went to take a shower the tub filled up with water to the middle of her calf. I called the front desk & the woman said that she made a mistake & gave us a room that was supposed to be under maintenance. […] She moved us to another room & we had noticed that all the room doors had a gap at bottom so big anyone could stick their entire foot underneath the door. U could hear everything in every room. The hallway was so filthy I wanted to buy my own sweeper & start cleaning! The room wasn't very clean, the toilet ran all night long & I'm not even goin to get started about the continental breakfast!!! Oh & I had forget my toothbrush & asked the front desk for one, but no luck! She literally offered me toothpaste tho to go with the no toothbrush I had. Bottom line not a good stay at all. The continental breakfast was not the greatest.
The staff was friendly, clean room, not too shabby... I've stayed here before... the times I come out to Ohio, I always stay here.

Easy access from/to the highway and reasonable price. Comfortable/clean room and beds and bathroom facilities but the TV needs to be upgraded. Overall we enjoyed the stay.
I would stay there again. Breakfast was biscuits and gravy, not what I eat for breakfast. I went next door to the Cracker Barrel and had breakfast.
"Below expectations"
I was disappointed for the quality of the hotel for the price I paid. The 2nd floor smelled like smoke, could use new carpeting in the hallways and other upgrades. Breakfast was nothing special. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly.
The alarm clock did not work. The refrigerator was noisy and sounded like a bomb ticking. The bed was comfortable and room was clean.

Just wish the new refrigerator was in we had to keep medicine in front desk refrigerator. Breakfast need approvment. need fruit and low fat milk and waffles.
This place suited my needs. There's a nice little area where they serve breakfast (which was mini muffins, biscuits & gravy, and an assortment of cereals and fresh fruit.) It was conveniently located about 10 minutes from a big shopping area but if you wanted to stay close there were some fast food restaurants, a Bob Evans, and a Big Lots. When I walked in the room was really warm and even though there were no inidicators on the heater, I was able to turn it down to a more comfortable temperature. Got what I paid for. The room reeked of smoke even though it was nonsmoking. Must of been a smoking room for years. The hotel staff was always outside burning one, but ran inside to help me whenever I needed to check in or out. Very polite.

Room was comfortable and clean. Very reasonable for the price. Only issues were an elevator that reeked of cigarette smoke (despite no smoking signs) and empty vending machines because (as the desk worker told me) "There ain't much in there. The maintenance guy who fills 'em is on vacation."

Its cheap and the hotel definitely feels bed bug free. The only complaint is that the free breakfast ends at 9:00! I feel that's a bit unreasonable.

"The hotel in Springfield"
The staff is very friendly and accomodating. There is a breakfast of sorts offered and a clean indoor pool. We have enjoyed our stays each time and make this trip 3 times a year.

This hotel has smoking and non-smoking rooms. Even though I got a non-smoking room, the hallway and the area near my door reeked of smoke. It wasn't as bad at my bed, but I could still smell it. Another thing I noticed was that the door did not fit the doorframe - there was a significant space at the top of the door that let light and sound through. The hotel staff was wonderful, my only dissatisfaction was in breakfast while I know it is hard to please everyone it would have been nice to see items that were more diabetic friendly. There were more than enough items with carbohydrates (bread) but it would have been nice to see items with a bit of protein (and not a hardboiled egg), the apple was […] good to see. The noise/stomping from upstairs woke us up at 4am and didn’t stop till almost 7am, we never stay on the 1st floor but the elevator was broke. "One Night Stay in July"
Overall this was a good deal for the money. The front desk clerk at the time of arrival was very nice and personable. The room selected for us was quiet, on the 3rd floor. The room was not fancy, but was clean and comfortable. There is a small pool, but I had no interest in that. The location is very convenient, near lots of restaurants and gas stations […] and very close offf of I-70. Breakfast was OK, nothing to rave about but c'mon, this is not the Ritz Carlton! "Pet Friendly, Comfortable"
We were traveling with a golden retriever and there was ample room in our room for us and the dog. The hotel staff was very kind and accommodating of us and we appreciated their friendliness.

Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. No ice machine on the floor so had to go back downstairs to get ice. Other than that, everything was fine. The night desk staff was awesome!!! Easy to find, and easy to get back on the highway, even with construction in the area. Got a great last-minute price, too.
