The hotel is great, but there isn't much near by for diner options in the immediate area. Plus the road network near there is brutal to navigate. But overall decent.

The Sandman Victoria is a excellent place to stay if you do not mind taking a 5 minute cab ride or a 10 minute bus ride to downtown. The rooms are very clean, they have a pool and hot tub and the staff is friendly. I would recommend this hotel and would stay at it again.

all was good. just noticed that the floor in the bathroom under the door could have been a bit cleaner.

A very short business stay, but it was great! Only concern I had was the heating of the room - too hot one minute and too cold the next. I couldn't balance it as much as I tried. Other than that, I shall return!!! Great Staff.

Staff are straightforward. "Sharks Club" bar is teaser bar - waitresses with breasts on display, advertisements suggesting you "might get something extra", patronized by boys desperate to display their machoness and slimy older men chatting up the young waitresses. An annoying atmosphere if you're just looking for a place to drink & talk. I ordered […] french toast & fruit salad for breakfast at the restaurant - it took half an hour to prepare, made me late, and came tasting bitter, with bits of burnt onion stuck to the toast. Could not open window therefore had to run air conditioner all night and it was very loud. But great location...was able to walk everywhere from here. But for the price / night the hotel could use an update.

Nice clean room, we were upgraded to a suite:) Forgot our coats in the closet, got prompt service in returning them, very happy will stay here again.

Thought it was great. The best part is the parking. I find that some hotels make parking a hassle and the Sandman seems to always make it easy. For some reason, parking is a big stress about staying at a hotel sometimes and it's good to see Sandman making it easy and free.

Carpets and bedspreads need replacing, generally clean, pool not heated but staff was courteous and accommodating. Convenient location.

Only problem were the carpets in the breakfast area are filthy and look like they never get cleaned. Easy fix, don't understand why they can't steam clean them.

When we booked the room it said we had a family suite where we could be apart from the kids when they were sleeping. It wasn't the same suite and really small. Disappointing.

The staff at this location went out of their way to make sure that our stay was perfectly enjoyable. The room was very clean and comfortable. The pool area was clean and well maintained. I didn't use the gym area, but I did look inside, and the equipment appeared to be in good repair and very clean. Every staff member we saw, including the cleaning […] crew, greeted us with smiles. I have never before been charged in advance for "incidentals" in any other hotel/motel. Is this something new? The carpet was severely marked with any "iron" by some previous guest. The toilet seat was terribly loose. The "old" tv was not a clear picture on any channel.

Front desk staff awesome. Quiet and clean room. Missed having a fridge in the room! Morning breakfast set up and service wasn't up to par.

I enjoyed my stay at the Sandman Victoria the front desk people are very good, polite and quick to serve. It's a little ways to the downtown core, but the rate reflects that. The room was quite and clean. My only complaint would be that on the 3rd floor there is an ice machine that fills that whole end of the floor with noise it really should be shut […] in it's own sound-proof room. My only real disapointment was on arrival I was told I only had one bed, even though I booked for 4 people. They resolved this with an etra roll away, but said bookings on Expedia are not confirmed regarding room size etc. Strange as I filled in who was staying in the room my wife and I and my 15 year old daughter and 6 year old son. It is a good hotel for budget travel. Little outdated in regards to room we had but lobby and building are ok. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room so it will set you back by $10-15 per person. Better choice may be close by Tim Hortons. Would stay there again.

A few things about the location.. 1. located beside bus depot - idling buses 24 hrs 2. - Hotel on lock down card access for everything.. is this area safe?3. hotel restaurant - most expense restaurant in Victoria ... really? 4. Parking... hard to get spot unless you return at 4pm... Room was big for the king.. had 2 tvs was good.. maid was good. had […] kitchenette which is nice. It is about a 15 to 20 minute walk to the Inner Harbor but it is a very direct route. The staff were very polite, professional and helpful.

This hotel is very nice. It had lots of great features like an indoor pool with hot tub. Very comfortable rooms. The problem we had was that for the price we paid we assumed we would get a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Those items were not included. The ice machine on our floor was out of order so we had to go to a different floor everytime […] we needed ice. It made for a complicated stay. Our room was on the 3rd floor but the music coming from the bar in the lobby could be heard until 1am in our room it was annoying but livable. Room was clean and comfortable except the bed mattress was way too hard. The pool was rather cold.The heater didn't seem to be working right which is usually not a problem when we stay here. Sandman does not honor the free upgrade that Expedia advertised we would get.
