Holiday Inn Express and Suites Fisherman's Wharf - San Francisco

This hotel is in a great location. There is shopping all around. Also just a couple blocks away is Fisherman's Wharf. For the price this is the best that I could find. The continental breakfast was great. They have a very large selection of food. My only complaint is that the room that we had (King bed) was pretty small.

We would stay again if we return to the San Fran area.

Our stay in SFO was fun and relaxing. We have been there a few times and this time relaxation of the mind and body was our objective. My wife and I stayed here during spring break and we didn't hear the 100's of families that we saw throughout our stay. We had an inside room,(not facing the street), and it was extremely quiet. Bed and pillows were comfortable, staff was helpful, taxi cabs are close buy, everything on fisherman's wharf is within walking distance. And the price we got […] was considerably better. Worked out well for us. Only complaint was the cost of car parking, but that's San Francisco! Good location for touring.

I'll start with some positives... Brandi at the front desk is fabulous and clearly customer service is her calling. She was great. The location was also very convenient for our trip. Now, a MAJOR negative... The cleaning staff can't be trusted. I was traveling from Boston and left a very nice long wool coat in the closet in my room. It was warm in […] San Francisco and I wasn't wearing it, and I forgot it in my room when I left. I then called the hotel so they could send it to me, and they said they never found the coat. I am 100% certain that this coat was left in the closet in my hotel room at the hotel. It is sad that the employees at the hotel have yet to return this jacket to me. i chose this hotel because of the positive reviews which said how helpful the front desk was. i found the complete opposite. they were not helpful at all and could or would not anwer any general questions of the area (ie. where do catch a street car or is there a greek restaurant nearby). the room was quite small and the walls paper thin. we could hear […] the cleaning staff in the hall quite clearly in our room. a bit disappointing overall especially being more expensive which we were willing to pay because of the reviews we read on the site. It is too small even for two Asians

Close to Wharf and all public transportations systems.

Three members of our family stayed at this hotel for 4 nights over New Year 2012. It was our 4th visit to the hotel - and we were pleased to come back. Rooms are clean and comfortable; breakfast good but busy at that time; and the location can't be beaten. We'll be back.

The hotel and my room were neat and clean but the staff, especially the front desk, made this a different experience from most hotels. I was treated like I was a long-time valued customer even though this was my first visit and same day check-in due to no other hotels having vacancy because of a local convention. First time at a HI express. Hotel is simple with no frills, includes breakfast, which is really a fast self-service version of it. Disposable everything. Interesting experience, but I only had breakfast once, in my 3 night stay, as the only healthy and good thing was the bananas. For the location and price this was our pick and we were not at all disappointed. We would have loved to stay at the Argonaught but unfortunately on this trip price and free breakfast won out. We have previously explored San Fran from the outskirts, staying at the Millwood Inn and Suits out at SFO - this is our pick for SFO Hotels because it is in walking […] distance to BART, has Free Breakfast, Airport Shuttle and the beds are extremely comfortable!. This time with 2 little ones in tow, ages 4 and 6, we preferred to be more central and worked out that with comparing overall costs of taxi - around $55 dollars + tip each way + hotel vs BART cost each day for 4 people + Trolleys + hotel cost - that it was only about $100 more to stay central for us. The beds were reasonably comfortable, the breakfast was definitely sufficient and saved a bit of money each day filling up little tummies. Easy enough to walk to everything at Fishermans Wharf even for little kids. We caught the bus up to Golden Gate Park and went to the California Academy of Science which was an awesome day that we would highly recommend to any with or without children! The boys also loved exploring the big ships down on the wharf and we made a trip to Rainforest Cafe for a great end to a family friendly adventure! Next time we are in San Fran, I do hope to stay at the Argonaught for the experience and extra luxury but my second choice for Fishermans Wharf would be Holiday Inn Express or for an Airport Hotel Millwood Inn and Suits. Great affordable family place to stay. Free Breakfast was a great start to the day. There was something there for us all to enjoy. Walking distance to everything around the wharf, Cable car to union square & surrounds. Would recommend hiring bikes & doing a bike ride over golden gate bridge.

Included Breakfast was so-so, coffee horrible, service by breakfast staff not great. TV, most channels not HD and selection was really poor.

I recently spent New year's eve and a few more days in this hotel and it was outstanding. The staff from the front desk to the room attendant were helpful kind and all around nice. I would not recommend this hotel. After a day and a half delay due to weather in the bay the last thing I needed was an attitude. Upon checking in, I was called "rude" by the front desk for questioning a charge. I was also told I would not be helped if I was "rude". To top it off, it was an employee across the desk that I was not even speaking to that […] decided to butt in and give her two cents. You should never call a customer rude! Especially if they aren't addressing you personally. I guess disagreeing, and asking an employee to butt out or at least look at you or address you personally when talked to is rude. I strongly disagree. It is a customers right to question charges. And it is disrespectful to interrupt a customer and then call them "rude" and refuse to help them unless they agree! This hotel is in a great location central to everything. It is not fancy but it is well kept and has great service. I had a few requests and they were all answered quickly. For the price, it is a great value, very clean, and comfortable.

Great location, friendly staff and fantastic location. Coin Laundry in Holiday Inn next door. Breakfast was a good variety and good times also.

This hotel certainly provides a comfprtable stay for guest. Close to the piers on Fishermans Wharf and near trolly and tram stops this is an ideal hotel for exploring the tourist attractions of San fran. We would certainly use this hotel again.

Holiday Inn Express Fisherman's wharf is a good basic hotel. Me and my friend found it clean and the location is walking distance to many of the tourist attractions in San Francisco. The only complaint is there are only 2 elevators in the hotel, and one of the elevators was often not working. I would book this hotel again. Although I felt it was a bit pricey despite being just a Holiday Inn Express, it was nonetheless a pleasant stay for me. I cannot stress how delightful and helpful the staff was. I've been in hotels where the front desk people would just give token assistance. Here, they were very eager and determined to help in any way they can. The location can't […] be beat. It's quiet, close to the wharf. I had an injured foot during my week here and yet it only took me less than 5 minutes to walk to the wharf each time out. If you're willing to take the bus, you can get to almost anywhere in San Francisco. A 3 or 7-day MUNI pass will give you unlimited access to the Cable Cars, Bus or Streetcar, all of which are accessible within a one or two block radius of the hotel. The staff will be more than willing to help you with directions and the bus line. And there are convenience stores, pharmacies, a 24 hour Denny's, a Starbucks, a Cost Plus Market, some burger joints, and even a Safeway supermarket all within a block or two. Nothing was more than a 5 minute stroll away in a VERY safe neighborhood. The breakfast buffet was a bit of a downer. I only availed of it once because it was too cramped and the selection left much to be desired. Internet connection was decent. Could be faster but it was pretty good. There's no Wi-fi in the room but you do get free internet connection via cable. Free wi-fi is available at the lobby. The rooms are okay. Don't expect a grand suite but the bed was comfy and clean. I noticed that the cleaning lady didn't do too good a job at cleaning the room though. Sure, the beds were made, towels and toiletries replenished and trash bins emptied but I suspect she hardly cleaned under the table all week. Try to ask for a room with a view. My window was overlooking an inner courtyard, which was dull, but there were rooms that looked out into the Beach (Wharf-side) or North Point road. Very good location and friendly, helpful staff. Only disappointment was we had specifically asked for a room with three beds as we were three ladies travelling. There were two beds plus a sofa bed but there was no room to pull out the sofa bed. We were given a rollaway which did just fit in but was so uncomfortable after the first night my daughter […] and I shared a bed. There was a coffee perc. but no kettle to boil water.
