My wife and I were lucky enough for our dog to have qualified for Crufts and we were keen to find a hotel nearby so that we did not have a long journey early in the morning. We chose the de Vere Village. On arrival everything was fine although the hotel seems to be in the middle of an industrial estate. The room was good and we settled in well. The […] evening meal was fairly good although rather expensive. We discovered that breakfast on Saturday was not available until after 8:00 am so we took advantage of the take away packed breakfast and arranged for us to collect this at around 07:00 so we could eat it on the way to or after we arrived at Crufts. Having got up and packed and loaded up the car we went to reception to collect our packed breakfast. It was there ready for collection. There we two cardboard cups with coffee, two plastic containers of fresh fruit, two plastic containers of orange juice, two paper bags containing fruit pastries, and two plastic spoons. These were all neatly lined up along the reception counter. When I asked if they had a carrier bag to put them in I was told they did not have any. It did seem strange that a packed take away breakfast seemed to be devoid of packaging. I asked if they had a cardboard box or something similar I could use as a tray but they didn't have any. I said surely they must have something. The receptionist smied sweetly and looked at a male who I'm guessing could have been from the kitchen and he said "We 'ain't got any". So without any offer of assistance I made several trips with cups and bags and balanced everything inside the car hoping it would make it to Crufts without too much spillage. So although the overall stay was good enough and indeed the breakfast was of good quality the last impression we have was a rather surly member of staff who quite happily watched me traipse backward and forward to my car. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly The facilities, particularly the pool, were very good. Seperate Bar, cafe and restaurant were all very good

Very conveniently placed to all the attractions of Coventry. Friendly, pleasant staff and clean, comfortable, quiet room.

A true commuters hotel, though slightly expensive if you are only there overnight and cannot take full advantage of the extra features. I was deeply unimpressed with the room service food. I ordered a sirloin stake, which I paid above reasonable price for plus the room service charge (but ok Im in a hotel), the stake arrived in good time but was possibly […] the worst piece of beef I have eaten since I was at school! The steak was tough and had no flavour, accompanied by under cooked chips and poorly cooked savoy cabbage with poor quality bacon. Ideal for a one night stay while visiting family. Room fine but could have done with another easy chair and a fan in bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and staff efficient and friendly. No time to use leisure facilities but pool looked pleasant.

The hotel was fine the food was good but Why! did they not put the heating on for when you arrive. Mid December and I am not one that requires alot of heat but even I felt the cold in the room. Sort this out and it would be a great place to stay.

We stayed at The Village for family reasons and it was excellent, value for money, excellent service, very pleasant room. We would definately stay there agin and would have no hesitation recommending it to our friends.

Village Hotel in coventry is a well located hotel with the bus stands just outside the hotel. The overall experience was good but for the fact that the houskeeping service in the hotel need to be improved. Also the bed was not confortable and they need to improve on this. The spa and pool were great. It was over all a reasonable experience. Also […] since there were a lot of indian guest, the hotel can add some good indian dishes in the breakfast and in thier regular menus at the verve grill. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the bed, which was firm and comfortable. The ground floor had no view, but the room size made up for it. It had an excellent gym. The next time we return, we'd ask for level 1 or 2. Overall a pleasant stay.

Having been charged a crazy rate for B&B I expected more from this hotel. In the room there was no shampoo and instead of a Corby there was a scruffy ironing board and iron. At breakfast the tea was in a pre-made pot that had been sitting on a table for an age - even the second one I asked for was tepid and strong as tar. And reception is like an amusement […] arcade. This was a great hotel, the furnishings, the comfort, the facilities and the staff were all great. Well recommended!

Basic but comfortable hotel, slow serivce in the resturant.

I did like this hotel. I went to warwick castle, then had a 25min drive to this hotel. We stayed in a double room. Nice size room and bed. the Bathroom was clean but the shower was cold. Breakfast was good. Parking is free. wifi is also free!! plasma screen is great. you may aswel take your own dvd player.

The Village room and other services are the same level as at the Harrington , in London , everybody are quite friendly and you should keep it that way .

Enjoyed a very pleasant mid week, one night stay here with excellent leisure facilities with well equipped gym, lots of classes to join in and a good sized pool, gave an opportunity to work up an appetite for a tasty bar meal in the Hotel's pub and to work it off in the morning before a full breakfast. I stayed there as I use the Village Hotel quite a lot, but have never stayed at the Coventry location. As always it was clean and tidy and the staff are very friendly. However, I found the location of my bedroom a bit too far. I am not sure if they have taken over another hotel next door, but my room was a trek to get to being about a ten minutes walk. […] A hotel I would recomment, but not the distance to my room. Used this hotel as stay after fantastic KOL concert at Ricoh. Free parking and breakfast plus included free access to pool and spa facilities.

Hotel and facilities great. First time in 10 years of staying at this hotel that I was less than impressed with the service., both on reception and in the restaurant.

Pros: Great pool, hot tubs (2) and sauna complementary wireless Internet service Cons: Poor customer service, rude staff, actually shouted at partner & I to leave the bar because he closed the cash register for the day and didn't wanna serve drinks. Albeit he was shutting down about 20mins before the advertised closing time. We saw people still drinking […] & been served minutes ago. Apparently you have to tell housekeeping to change the sheets before they do, that's what the receptionist told us. Our sheet had a tear ( it was like that when we checked in). We stayed for 3nights and had them come in once. The bed was just straightened up. We took off the duvet and found it was still messy underneath, they didn't hover the floors . Run down room.Not as per the photo. The hotel could do with a vacum clean. The lobby is nice,bar ok, food average. Would not stay here again.

Central England for family reunion easy access for all concerned our rooms were upgraded and very comfortable. We ate in the Restaurant and were very pleasanty suprised by the good quality of food and excellant service Breakfast again very good with plenty of choice and very busy. Would stay again.

Hotel booked as a last minute cheap deal. The room was good for the price that we had paid. However I overheard another guest paying a bill much higher than us and I would have been very unhappy about the condition of the hotel for that price. The key card repeatedly didn't work to our room and had to be changed twice, its like being on the krypton […] factor trying to find your room as there is no elevator that takes you directly there and you find yourself going up, across and then down some stairs There were four bouncers on the door to the hotel bar, which I found a little off putting, and you had to queue for 15 minutes to be shown to a table for breakfast. However the room was clean and large. Overall we weren't unhappy as we had booked a last minute bargain so we laughed off a lot of things but if I had had to pay full price my reactions would have been very different. Przeczytaj więcej

We have stayed here several times. The breakfasts are excellent and the rooms very comfortable.

Although we'd read a few reviews mentioning the noise levels at this hotel before we booked, we didn't think it would be that bad - alas we were wrong. The Village Hotel is perfectly located for wedding parties; away from residential housing, well stocked bar and plenty of guest rooms. Unfortunately we were not there for a wedding and so the intense […] noise from the bar until the early hours and the copious amounts of booze available to said parties only lead to one nightmare of a stay. This was the second times that I stayed in this hotel mainly because of their health club in the basement. The hotel is very loud at nights with people drinking and making loud noise until 5am. I will not go there again.

Jag hade bokat "twin", men fick en säng på 160 cm med enbart ett täcke för två personer. Gick inte och klagade, men tror att de hade kunnat hjälpa oss med det. Städerskan envisades med att bara ge oss ett set med handdukar trots att vi var två på rummet och kopparna på rummet var inte rena. Så om jag skulle klaga på något är det städerskans arbete. Rummet […] var lagom stort. Frukostbuffén hade allt man kan förvänta sig. Personalen i receptionen och i restaurangen var hjälpsam. Przeczytaj więcej
