Spędziłem w tym hotelu trzy noce i byłem bardzo zadowolony. Oddalony od centrum, ale oferujący kilkakrotnie w ciągu dnia bezpłatny dojazd własnym busem do głównej ulicy miasta. Niedaleko dostęp do komunikacji publicznej. Położenie tuż przy jeziorze z przyjemnym widokiem na wodę. Czysty pokój (gorzej na korytarzach), dobrze wypozażona łazienka, klimatyzacja, uprzejma obsługa w recepcji, dostatecznie wyposażony pokój biznesowy (komputer, drukarka) ogólny bezpłatny dostęp WiFi do Internetu, basen, w pokojach ekspres do kawy i lodówka, co dzień nowa porcja kawy i herbaty do samodzielnego przyrządzania, telewizor (choć nie najlepszej jakości i z małą liczbą programów, ale to nie było dla mnie najważniejsze), na korytarzu maszyna do lodu i automaty z napojami. Jedno co mi nie odpowiadało to posiłki w restauracji hotelowej, zwłaszcza oferowane podczas śniadań (jajecznica, chyba z proszku, dziwne jakieś mazie, dziwne w smaku kiełbaski itp), ale to zapewne typowo amerykańskie potrawy, a wyczucie smaku to oczywiście rzecz indywidualnego gustu. W każdym razie były dość urozmaicone i zawsze uzupełnione o świeże owoce. Raz w tygodniu w rozsądnej cenie ( 20 dol.) kolacja typu - bufet, z zadziwiająco dużym wyborem dań (część nawet mi smakowała, a jestem przyzwyczajony do dobrej kuchni - zwłaszcza ryby, których oferowano kilka rodzajów w różnej postaci) towarzyszyła temu muzyka na żywo i sprawna obsługa kelnerska. W sumie OK.

"Pleasantly Surprised"
Service was upbeat and friendly upon check-in. Our room was big, 2 queens for 3 girls, and best, fresh carpet. The adjacent restaurant had good service and good food. Can't beat the location, easy access to the L, theatres, State St and Michigan Ave shopping.
We also have amazing suites that have a full size jetted tub and a separate living room area with a comfortable pull out couch. It's perfect for a girls getaway!

Very pleased with our stay. Hotel lounge is beautiful which mimics the rooms. Room are newly renovated. Our rate was reasonable and location was perfect.
Very true! The Monaco has an excellent location, and features a lot of the Kimpton excitement, like Manager Hosted Wine Hour (complimentary) and our goldfish program.

The location sure is perfect. We love to accomodate guests that have multiple rooms by making sure they adjoin, just be sure to always give a good notice (a couple days is great) so we can prepare that for you. Those window seats sure are great!

"Great hoteL in okay location"
A few spots nearby like a drugstore and 2 restaurant bars. No bar in the hotel. However, the room and staff were wonderful. Hard pillows though! They hurt my ear. But, I'd stay here again.
Come back and check out South Water Kitchen and their tavern. They have a very cozy bar with a couple fabulous mixologists. They have some cool local libations they love to mix up for our guests.

This is good feedback and we certainly do want to impress and delight our guests. We are bringing to wine hour some appetizers from South Water Kitchen every night that will complement our current wine offering and seasonaly we do try to do something special like Hot Toddys or Arnold Palmers. I was very pleased on my recent business travel to the Hotel Monaco. It was close to all the sites, area restaurants and entertainment and to my office. I was impressed with the beautiful clean room and friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Chicago - business or pleasure!

"Nice hotel, good price"
The room was clean and very nice. The hotel staff was very helpful in accommodating all my requests. The only drawback was that my room on the 6th floor had a view of parking garage structure. I liked complementary tea and wine service. Overall, I am happy with my stay and definitely will recommend it to everyone.

"Well-kept hotel"
Great place to stay! The staff is friendly and accommodating; the bed is comfortable; the room is spacious and clean...and it's 2 blocks away from Millennium Park--you can't beat this hotel

I stayed at the Kimpton while attending a conference. It was an easy walk to the conference site at the Intercontinental (other side of the river) as well as to shopping and restaurants (both sides). I am sure that I got more luxury and service for dollar than those at the big hotel! Great job!
The hotel is located in the middle of everything. It is just one block from Michigan Avenue shops, and 3 blocks from Millenium park where you can go ice skating in the winter!

"Kids favorite hotel EVER!"
Ask for a room with a river view and window seat. We loved lounging and watching the world pass by. They offer coffee in the morning along with a hot chocolate bar with all of the fixings: marshmallows, chocolate chips, whip cream and bacon! Staff was consistently friendly and upbeat. Kids can't wait to go back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, front desk very accomodating - had king suite and double room, asked for them to be on same floor, and receptionist offered to make them adjoining, so the 2 bedrooms could share the living room - perfect for a family or friends situation. All of our suites have a separate living room with a pull out couch. It can also be adjoined to a regular room with two queen beds. Perfect for a family vacation.

We've been staying at the Hotel Monaco since the first year it opened when our children were small. Now we have grandchildren that have become part of the tradition. My grandson loved sleeping in the window sill. Accommodations are lovely and the service is great.
Aren't the window seats awesome? Don't forget to make sure to call and ask for that upgrade to the window seat, they are unique to some of the rooms. They certainly are a treat! We're thrilled to make traditions for families by having such a lovely location and great service.

"The Monaco in Chicago"
Great - however since we booked thru hotels.com the Hotel would not let us accumulate more Kimpton points. I thought that was pretty lame since we got a discount thru hotels.com normal programs did not apply. Lobby smaller than expected, in house restaurant the South Water Kitchen was very good. The location is excellent.

"Monaco Hotel - Chicago - Perfect Place to Stay"
I don't usually take time to write reviews but I thought it was necessary after our recent stay at the Monaco Hotel. Let me break this into a couple of categories: * Cleanliness - I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the hotel was kept. The lobby, hallways, elevators, and our room were always clean during our stay. * Convenience - The hotel is perfect […] walking distance to Millennium Park, Magnificent Mile, and restaurants/shopping just North of the river. * Customer Service - This is where this hotel really shines. When we arrived at the hotel we arrived much earlier than check-in. No problem, they took and held our bags (at no charge) and off we went. When we returned and went to our room we were called almost immediately upon arrival at our room by the Manager to ensure everything was in order for us. Later when we left the hotel and we returned from dinner we were greeted with a Bottle of Champagne on ice and a nice card congratulating us on one year of marriage. Even the next morning we received a couple of chocolates wrapped inside of an elephant made out of wash clothes. Special Benefits - This hotel has window seats in each window. Not little ones but BIG seats (think twin bed) that allow you to sit and relax alone or together while looking out over the city. I'm not a big reader or a person who sits but the window seat was a really nice perk. Downside - If there are any downsides it is the fact that you hear a lot of street noise and sirens and you only have valet parking at $48 / day. Turndown is available to all of our guests upon request. Valet parking downtown Chicago can be on the expensive side, please note that taxes are included in the $48 per night cost and it allows for unlimited in/out privileges.

Was one of the best deals on the website at the time for a King size bed in downtown (the loop) Chicago area. Good location for vacationing and walking around downtown. Definitely was not as grand as some of the hotels, but great service, friendly staff, nice free wine and hot cider to warm up your cold evening, and a great value for the money.

We stayed in a Mediterranean suite, which was a little more expensive but worth it after a day out exploring the city. Room was comfy and quiet with an enormous bath tub! The staff were polite and helpful. Complimentary coffee in the mornings was a nice touch. The bar and restaurant is convenient if you don't want to go out to eat, but there are endless […] restaurants ranging from inexpensive to pricey nearby. Only complaint was the billing... Our bill included a mini-bar charge, despite not touching ours (we didn't even know we had one) although that was remedied when I challenged it. But a single 90 second long-distance phone call ran us 9 dollars after our calling card stopped working... Which left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe that's the norm in the USA - but I consider that sort of pricing just shameful. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a bit of luxury... But stay away from the extra charges! This was our first time at the Hotel Monaco and we weren't disappointed. The location was excellent, well within walking distance of Michigan Avenue, State Street and Millennium Park. The Trump Tower is also just over the road - a useful landmark if you get lost!. The room was stylishly decorated and we LOVED the enormous windowsill that you could sit […] in and people-watch - a real bonus. Everything was very clean and the shower was excellent (my pet peeve is bad water pressure in hotels!). The staff were friendly and helpful, room service was prompt and we had a really good meal at South Water Kitchen, the restaurant downstairs. so easy to get anywhere in the city this hotel is very comfortable, convenient and friendly. Sharing a double queen oom with my mom we both had lots of space and the beds were very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone!

There are so many cute and charming things about this hotel. The rooms are decorated so well, and this last visit we were in a deluxe King on the top floor that had this wonderfuly unexpected large window seat. "Very Pleased."
This is a very nice hotel in a great location. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean and inviting and the decor is very clever. If I had any complaint, it's that the television channel selection is somewhat limited. No History channel or Discovery channel, for example, but that is a fairly minor complaint.

The river view windows are really lovely with large window seats to watch the bridges, boats, people and eveything else out there on the river edge.

We lucked out finding the hotel Monaco for our recent trip to Chicago. We selected a river view room and spent long mornings will room service in the ample-sized window seat. Many attractions are waking distance including millennium park, the magnificent mile, and a number of great restaurants. We'll be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. The exercise room was under repair bit they gave us free access to LA Fitness which was a great facility. Unless you want a view of a brick wall, I suggest you call ahead and request a room with a nice view. The concierge was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed all of his suggestions.

Stayed there for one night and it was great. First off Peter who helped us with our bags could not have been more helpful and considerate. He is a great asset to the hotel, that is the type of person you want to see after a long drive, great guy. We chose to stay at the Mediterranean Suite and I could not have asked for a nicer room. The suite is composed […] of two rooms and a bathroom with a two person Jacuzzi. The room had deep Windows and "pillows" on them so that you can sit in the Windows and look out, awesome. Location was great, right by the magnificent mile, about 5 minute walk to millenium park, and loads of great restaurants around.
