the hotel itself was nicely decorated and everything but the place didnt have any clean towels available when we requested them twice as well as there were roaches in our bathroom and other bugs in the sleeping area the beds were comfy but i guess u get what you pay when you stay in a cheap room

Some lights would not turn on. There were holes where the electric receptical units are supposed to be. And one of the ceiling tiles was coming apart in the bathroom. And the toilet constantly overflowed.

The hotel location was nice. The rooms were not well maintained. The furniture was broken, the mattress and box springs were outdated. The power was shut off for hours for no apparent reason.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The rooms were nothing like they appeared in the pictures online, they were much older and run down. The service was good and the location was convenient so if your looking for a cheap room to get your through the night this may be for you, if your looking for a nice hotel for a lengthy stay you may want to look else where.

I traveled to Raleigh to attend a surprise birthday party for a friend of mine from college. I have stayed at other Mircotels in the past, so I thought this one would be OK. Boy, was I wrong. For starters, I had to request a new room because the room I was originally given was AWFUL: the bed wasn't made, the tub had some rusty water in it, and there […] was mold growing on the walls. THEN---the second room had NO TOWELS, NO SOAP, NO ANYTHING... A LOT of things happened my last night at the hotel (I only stayed 2 nights, mind you): The police came to remove someone from the hotel who had been doing drugs in their room around midnight. The room was booked on line. Did you expect a 4 star hotel at 1 - 2 star price? The room was clean and better than I expected. My travels have taken me to some nasty places and this is NOT one of them.

The lobby smells like a litter box. The first room I was given had still been dirty. There were no towels or comforters in the room. In the bathroom there were still used female hygiene items. For the money is a was a good value. I played in a softball tournament and only used the room for a night of sleep.

The smell of cat urine is overwhelming in this building! It looks as if its a weekly rental for drug addicts. Our room didn't look anything like the picture, nothing! This hotel was loud and dirty! We could hear some sort of rodent all night scratching in the walls. My husband, I and a friend drove from Columbia SC to Raleigh for a concert at Walnut Creek... the only reason to get a hotel, is so that we would not have to drive 4 hours back... we wanted a hotel close enough to be able to take a cab to the concert. This place is alright if you are just going to sleep there like we did. For the price u can't find anything better. This hotel is in a good location for the music venue time warner ampatheater which is all we needed. Plus the 24/7 convience store in the parking lot and waffle house across the street, pretty alright set up for us. Will stay again in future Raleigh visits

My husband and I stayed at this hotel while in town for a concert. The neighborhood does not seem safe as there are a lot of people wandering around the gas station that shares a parking lot with the hotel. Also, the room was smaller than my college dorm room! This place is a dump...period.

The staff was courteous and helpful.Location and ease of access to my event was a plus.Rooms not as clean as expected.Needs some renovations and upgrade in mattresses and ac units.But for price would stay again if necessary.

The bathroom was not clean. The side of the toilet closest to the tub had urine. The shower curtain was molded. The overhead ceiling tiles were raised, and cracked, and someone tried to level it by putting toilet tissue up there. The beds were very low to the ground. We took the mattress off of one bed and put it on the other just to be higher up. The […] remote was missing and the tv was not centrally located. It was in the corner on top of the little closet that contained the iron and ironing board. There was a red stain all over the carpet and there was a red stain on one of the pillow cases. There was a group of people in the room next to ours, that were very loud. We could hear every word that they were saying. It sounded like s party at 2 am. The Microtel inn & Suites in Raleigh NC, the hotel was an older Hotel that needs a lot of updates the bath was dirty and needs updating and cleaning, the room was never dusted or vacuumed there was a smell in the halls with dirty carpeting and noisy.

Friendly staff, clean room, minor flaws, ie. missing coat hook in bathroom, ironing board but no iron, latch completely missing on side entrance door from parking lot, language barrier with one maid, very limited choice at continental breakfast. But for the price I paid, I won't complain.

To say I was highly disappointed in this hotel would be the understatement of the year. It was located in a bad neighborhood. The room had toothpaste smeared all over the bathroom door. The toilet seat had what looked like a burn mark on it. The towels were so thin it was almost pointless to use. The pillows were also very thin. I didn't even sleep […] in the sheets because I was afraid of what those would be like. The whole hotel had a very odd smell that made me nausous. There was an ironing board but you had to put a deposit down to borrow the iron from the front desk. In the morning there were beer bottles scattered throughout the front of the hotel in paper bags. We stayed here after the 4/19 Buffett Show in Raleigh. Getting to Walnut Creek from here was ridiculously easy, getting back afterwards was just as swift, and it's proximity to I 440 to shoot to RDU early the next morning was great. I didn't hesitate to leave luggage in the room prior to leaving for the show. The neighborhood isn't bad at all - There's […] just nothing significant for travelers there with the exception of a gas station and a Burger King. You will have to drive to get decent food, and there is nothing of the sort on the path to Walnut Creek. The hotel is what it is: A nice place to sleep and shower. The only frill worthy of mention was the pseudo-daybed on the window sill. Bonus: The window actually opened! On the flip side, there was nothing negative about this hotel, either. In the morning, we got our requested wake up call, 3 of us showered with no complaints pertaining to hot water, water pressure, availability of clean towels and washcloths, and all slept very well. No noise, no irritations, no disturbances. The coffee area in the lobby had 5 or 6 men crammed in the tiny space, so I kept walking to check out assuming I could find a coffee shop in the neighborhood - You do have to make a right out of the parking lot, go to the next light and make a u-banger to get on I 440. Eh, no such luck. Drove all the way to RDU where they had a Sheetz. YAY! :D Don't hesitate to reserve and stay at this hotel. I'd love to say I would again, but after the odd crowd at Buffett in Raleigh this year: College kids who are bigger fans of Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney in cowboy boots and acting like fools - I would be surprised if Buffett plays Raleigh again. You get what you pay for! The pictures are tricks, the rooms look NOTHING like what the internet shows. What you get is COMPLETELY opposite. Save your money and go somewhere else. Due to the restrictions of what i cannot say, ill keep the rest to myself.

This was our first experience with this hotel chain. We decided on it because we thought we would have a suite, with a pull-out in a separate room for our daughter and grandchild. The first room that they tried to give us was a regular standard room with two queen beds only. It didnt have the features as explained when we made the registration. The […] final room that they gave us didnt have a real kitchen; it was a sink, microwave and a dormatory-size refrig. I couldnt do the cooking that was planned. Also, the pull-out couch was in the same room as the bed. The room was only divided by an island that had the sink, micro and refrig. If you stood up you could see into both areas of the room. We had to pay $10 to rent an iron. The refrig need to be defrosted and cleaned. We had to ask for sheets for the pull-out and extra towels. The ice maker on our floor didnt work and we had to go to another floor for ice. The halls and elevator had an odor and smelled like someone had been smoking. There were cigeratte butts on the floor near the elevator. The continental breakfast stopped 45 minutes before the end and they would not restock it. The hotel room was smaller than I thought it would be but it was still a great value.The only thing I didnt like was that housekeeping started knocking on my door at 10:45a but checkout wasnt until 12 noon.

I have stayed at a Microtel in Knoxville, TN, where I was pleased with the accommodations: small, yet tidy rooms, with basic amenities, a comfort to any traveler. I was a little disturbed when I arrived at the Raleigh Microtel. When I walked through the front door, I was greeted with a damp stench, closely akin to cat urine. I was greeted by a pleasant enough attendant, who seemed nonplussed by the strange smell fouling the lobby. I was informed there were no smoking rooms available, though the hotel appeared to be mostly vacant. I was also greeted by a woman at the front desk, who was trying desperately to get a room, but the attendant insisted there were no rooms to be had. Unconcerned, I went to my room, on the second floor. Fans lined the hallways, and the smell was even more prevalent in the guest's quarters. My room was a swamp: damp, thick, and ominous. The bed seemed wet to the touch. I opened the window and turned on the air conditioner. After about thirty minutes, I decided I couldn't remain at the hotel. The smell was over powering, and the humidity was 100% in the building. I can't help but wonder if the sprinkler system had been triggered recently. I turned in my key and left. And coincidentally, the woman begging for a room at the front desk when I arrived begged even harder for my room as I was leaving. No explanation was ever offered when I stated I was leaving. The front desk was doing paperwork for about five minutes before she acknowledged my existence. The room smelled musty the hotel itself was not air conditioned, the room was though the unit ran pretty poorly. Ok for the price, needs updating, beds not comfortable,actually was sinking in the middle,not wht I expected from microtel,i guess we've stayed in newer ones previously.

Definetly a one night stay hotel. A/C unit was very loud and not cooling. Holes in shower walls. I asked for 2 extra pillows only received one. Hotel was close to our destination and had several restaurants. Definetly not high class I guess that is why it was cheap. Customer service sucked. My room had no AC and the clerk didnt give me another room or even try to fix the problem.

At check-in it was storming - nothing that can be helped - but I had to wait at the front desk for 10 minutes soaking wet before the front desk clerk would acknowledge me as he was chatting away on the phone. Finally he asked me if i had a reservation. After another 10 minutes of patiently waiting for him to process my reservation while he continued […] to talk on the phone, I put my bag, cooler and laptop on the ground and my purse on the desk. Finally! This got his attention! He quickly finished processing my reservation and as I gathered up my things he told me he couldn't get off the phone because it was his boss. Being a customer of his boss this did not make any sense to me for obvious reasons. I would think his boss would be perfectly fine to wait on the phone for 5 minutes while his employee processed a check-in rather than have his customer wait 20 minutes - maybe not. The room wasn't what I expected - outdated and in need of some maintenance - but at that point I didn't care. It was just an overnight stay and I was ready for bed anyway. Kinda run down. IN the "hood". Outside apperence is misleading. Okay for the price I paid. One HUGE PLUS....Wall of mirrors over the bed!! ;)
