Very nice hotel, close to our activities. Did not use any hotel services, but did have hot continental breakfast in the morning

I was looking for a Hotel closed to the Wells Fargo Center for I had tickets to go see a concert there and it was just my daughter and myself going and we had never stayed or drove in Des Moines so I was looking for a place that was closed to the concert. When I made these reservation the lady said that this Quality Inn was close to the center..we had […] to walk out the Hotel back door and walk right to the doors to the Wells Fargo Center. "walking distance to three event centers"
We stayed at this hotel for convience of walking distance to an event we were going to. The hotel was nice enough,don't expect a 5 star hotel! Staff was friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We will stay there again if we attend an event nearby.

"Quality Inn Downtown Des Moines"
Decent location near downtown. It was walking distance to bars/restaurants. If you're going to something at Vets Auditorium or Wells Fargo Arena, I definitely recommend staying there. "Great Stay!"
This was an excellent hotel and the staff was very helpful and nice! The breakfast was good too, they had more choices than just the usual bagels and toast. Would definitely stay here again.

The bed was a little too firm for our liking, but the pillows were great; not to soft and thin like in a lot of other hotels.

"An OK place to flop in Des Moines"
The room was clean and nondescript. It was quiet enough to sleep. Located hard by the freeway; not the most exciting views from the 7th floor. The restaurant in the property was a little tired and empty. Very close to all downtown locations. the staff was nice enough - but this is Iowa, so everybody is nice.

My daughter and I needed to stay in DM overnight to attend the Iowa State Fair the next day. This was a nice hotel that wasn't too far away from the fairgrounds. I have stayed here before for conferences in downtown DM so it is very convenient to get to Wells Fargo, Convention Complex, and the DM Skywalk system. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. Getting […] to the hotel is a little difficult since there are so many one-way streets surrounding it as well as getting on and off the freeway next to it, but since I have been there several times, I've become more familiar with the area. "Very Convenient To I-80"
We found this to be a very convenient location for our family as we were traveling west on I-80. We stopped for the night and were just a short drive from the Iowa Cubs baseball park. We took in a game and enjoyed the free breakfast the next morning! The location is hard to beat and we enjoyed the view of the city from our hotel room.

"hotel in Des Moines, IA"
Especially enjoyed having a resturant in the hotel. Miss Dee, waitress, was especially friendly and did her job well. Breakfast was wonderful. Very convient to everything I was interested in. Staff was very helpful with questions we had. Had an enjoyable time.

"In need of freshening up its look"
Loved the convenience of the hotel, but the look is very outdated and the carpet has noticable stains in the hallways and rooms. This gives the hotel a grungy feel. WiFi service, though free, is very week and difficult to use.

The best thing was the free breakfast eggs, waffles, sausage, breads, pastries, cereal, orange juice, coffee, milk, yogurt overall a good assortment. "Quality Inn and Suites-Des Moines"
We had a great view of the river and surrounding downtown area. Our accommodations were clean and comfortable. The only negative aspect was the level of road noise from the adjacent freeway and city streets until the late evening.

Breakfast had moldy bread, mufins and bagel..yogurt and milk was not kept cold...very un sanitary conditions When told staff about the mold...was told do not eat it!

I don't know why, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I loved the way the bathroom was presented: the "flowered towel" presentation and the shower curtain presentation let me know that someone took extra time to make things a little bit nicer. As well, the complimentary breakfast was a life-saver, and the spread at the breakfast further surprised me. "Quality Inn & Suites in downtown Des Moines"
Great location near a lot of bars and restaurants. We just stayed the night and unfortunately I wasn't able to use all the facilities. Great hotel, very clean and very nice.

Great location, weird smell. The hotel desperately needs to be updated, but the beds are perfectly comfortable, and you can walk to almost anywhere you'd want to go downtown. Great view of the Capitol building from the east-facing rooms. Be sure to get to the breakfast well before 9, as they stop restocking the food and utensils well beforehand.

"Great place to stay!"
The location was very convenient, right off of the freeway, and in a central location. The rooms were in excellent condition and the staff was wonderful. I would definitely stay there again.
The bed was the worst bed I have ever slept in. It was hard as a rock. The maintenance guy was very helpful and friendly. The rooms could use some updating. The location was perfect for Wells Fargo Arena. For the price we could have got a room at the Marriot or Savory and walked the sky walk.

Everything I look for in a hotel right next door to the Iowa Events Center. Nice room, free breakfast buffet, free wireless internet, nice indoor pool and on-site restaurant.
