Great hotel for price my only issue is elevators are slow n no air conditioning in hallway or elevator

Overall, a decent hotel for a quick weekend getaway. Just a short walk from the Daytona Boardwalk makes it a great location. A few gripes I had about the place was the lack of a hot tub, no heated pools and the elevators were incredibly slow (took us over 15 minutes just to get from the 6th floor to check out).

I recently took my 2 kids for a weekend stay in Daytona. POC was perfect for the time we were there. clean room, clean hotel. Lots of spring breakers but they did not bother us. Too few lounge chairs by the pool but it was spring break. nice friendly staff.

Not to be confused with the Plaza Resort which is right next door. Great Location on the beach and close to everything. However, it is showing its age and abuse from spring breakers. For the price it is about what I expected. Would not go for a long stay but one night was alright.

Good location if you like the beach.

Great location to beach which is why we went. Pool area was just fine for us. Drinks available. Breakfast buffet was average, expensive with poor service. Worst part was the elevators. We were on the top floor and we waited a long time for the two elevators to arrive. Took the stairs once and it smelled bad. Rooms ok. Small and the bathroom door would […] not shut but we were not in them much. Great places to eat and shop within walking distance. I'd probably stay again for the price and location. Dated hotel with a good location. Room was not thoroughly cleaned when I checked-in (some leftover snacks on the carpet). There were some roaches in the room and bathroom. I am not planning on going back. The side door on the main floor was not locked after 7pm as it stated one night when I came back after 10pm.

We visited as 2 mates so were quite willing to accept sub-standard accomodation. However this place is pretty bad. Hotel is dated and falling apart - much like the rest of the town. Yes its on the beach, however this is ruined by everyone driving their car on it. If you like to sunbathe in a car park then this is for you. Staff were friendly enough but to be honest we didn't hang around long enough to find out. yes this hotel is cheap, but its not worth the cost saving. Take a tent instead. The visit was alright. The employees there are kind. But the rooms need to be updated. It's very old school. I also don't like how all the rooms are connected. While i was there my neighbor was very loud and i could hear word for word what they were doing and saying.

The place isnt all that bad. However its lacking a lot in the front desk. The people up there were slow and constantly hanging out in the back room. I reserved a room with two queens and got a room with a king. They did give me a room with two queens very fast so thats not so bad. The beds though are like cardboard boxes. The pillows were like pieces […] of paper. Hotel was nice and have a great view of the ocean. The pool was extremely cold. There were very small bugs on the beds and on the table between them.

hotel staff were mostly nice except for the man that cked us out at 430 am.. what a grump... the spring break crowd was a bit much.... elevator was very slow..wont be back will pay a little more and stay up the street where the spring breakers can't afford

We were very satisfied with all aspects of the stay. We have stayed in many places on the beach and this is definatly one of the best especially for the price.

Old and very outdated Toilet did not flush properly tub had peeling paint, room was musty.Elevator was very slow will not be going back. Liked location and view from balcony

Front of Hotel and Entry nicely kept and up to date. Rooms and hallways need painting and maintenance. 3rd floor hallway smelled musty and wet. Heard the roof was leaking into the rooms below (10th floor?). Asked for extra pillows and towels - Housekeeping was on top of it. TV and light would stay on for about 10 mins,then shut off. We then would have […] to call the front desk to get breaker reset. After third time around midnight, was not reset till morning. Then went out again 10 mins. later. We finally plugged the TV into a different outlet, that fixed our issue. We arrived at the hotel excited about our vacation to wait in line for 1 hour and 45 minutes to check in. Got to the room and it smelled like vomit and mildew. Called down stairs to see if there was a different room and was told hotel is completely booked. Our 4 yr old daughter went to turn on the tv, it didn't work. Called the front desk again regarding […] tv. They said someone would come check it out. No one showed. Getting ready for bed our daughter says that the floor is wet. I called again and what I should have expected no one showed. I'm on vacation and shouldn't have to worry about wearing shoes in my hotel room. The next morning I went downstairs to check out. Again it was a 45 minute wait. I addressed my concerns regarding several calls made to the front desk and poor service. I was told it's not their fault a pipe burst or why the room would smell so bad. We were suppose to stay for several days but had to leave due to poor service and unfit condtions. I will NOT recommend this hotel due to poor service and disgusting rooms! The front desk could have been alittle more understanding. What a shame this hotel has been let go to such very mediocre condition. A renovation is long past due. The room itself was nice although I don't understand the kitchenette setup. Waste of space set up as it is. Ocean front view was beautiful. The hallway on the 7th floor had a very musty odor. I am glad the room was not the same. The Plaza Ocean Club only had one functional evelator, and I was on the top floor. WHAT a hassle, the wait for the elevator was ridiculous.

We simply loved the staff! Very friendly, efficient and helpful. The hotel is older, and has older appliances, furniture, etc., but is very clean and comfortable. The beds were good, and the ocean view balcony was the greatest!!! We will definately go back!!

For the most part the hotel was just fine, especially since it is hard to go wrong when your next to the ocean. But the bathtub/showers were rusted out, there was a strong pot smell through the smoking floors from the spring breakers from Canada and the second room we had was more than adequate. It was close to a lot of different fun adventures and […] stores so that was nice, and the DJ did a great job with contests and games for the college kids which made it entertaining and fun. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the location is excellent to all activities and dining locations in the Daytona Beach area and the beach is right outside your door. It was quiet and comfortable our entire stay. It is lacking any menu information in the rooms and the sheets could be a little softer and the carpets could be cleaned more often. Overall, the hotel was nice. The beach location and view were terrific and close to shopping areas. Pool area was very nice and restaurant served a very good breakfast. The front desk staff were friendly and courteous. However, the facility was clearly a 3-star rated property as the hotel elevator door sensors were in need of service and nearly crushed […] us entering or leaving the car. Our room needed to be treated for pest control. Had bugs (German Cockroaches and sugar ants) on the 11th floor, which is odd. Air conditioning was noisy, there was a cockroach on the toilet seat.

Great location right on the beach.The hotel is very run down. Maintenance like peeling paint and cracked walls has not been kept up. Mold on the walls and especially in the bathroom even on the shower curtain. Wifi was chancy at best. TV was OLD and channels came in poorly but we came for the beach anyway. Very good stay there in Feb. 2012. Very nice staff, nice-sized, clean room w/2 queens and balcony. Poor breakfast buffet, and no continental breakfast. Bar opens too late in the day, wished I could have had a cocktail by the pool. Very large, very nice pool.

Pros: On A1A close to ocean center and beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cons: Room needs a makeover. Does not look as nice as pictures. Kind of reminds me of a crack motel on the inside especially since some of the guests looked very shady. Kind of smelled. Beds were super uncomfortable and walls were paper thin.

Overall appearance was good and up to par for the area. ONLY problem...when turning down my bed, behind the mattress, above the box springs was a child's pacifier and a lot of lint and dust. How it was not seen when changing the sheets it a mystery to me. Makes me wonder what else was out of sorts!

We attended a Fire Conference and Booking this Hotel was a Mistake. The price was right but we should of spent more for a better hotel. The front desk was friendly but the rooms need a lot of work. The room smelled bad , the comforter had several cigarette holes and the housekeeper never changed it for two days. We could not enjoy the balcony becuase […] of all the Bird Poo on the balcony and chairs. Its never been cleaned! You can hear everything through the walls. Carpet dirty and shower had rust stains. Our first contact with the check in person at the front desk was lacking in welcoming and friendly attitude. The size of the room with a two queen size bed was spacious and I really liked the lay out. You can go to the bathroom with out disturbing the other person in your room. The room needs updating. […] the rug was very visibly warn, the remote on the television didn't function, the telephone was not on to call the front desk. After I took a shower the faucet got stuck on open. My husband had to go to the front desk to advise of the situation after we called front desk through our cell phone, and had not heard from them and we where concern of possible flooding. Looked forward to a nice first night in Florida on our way to Ft. Lauderdale. The beds were the most uncomfortable and each bed had two pillows. They nickel and dime u too death! No breakfast, pay for parking, hidden fees, you do not get your monies worth! will not stay again!

The night we got there it was about 30 degrees outside. Our heat was not working. We called and they came pretty quickly, and ended up having to switch rooms. New room had working heat, but had a weird smell. The positives, the Beds were comfortable and we had a great view of the sunrise on the ocean. We stayed at this hotel because of it's convenient location to the Ocean Center for a cheer competition. The hotel itself was nicely appointed, the desk staff was abundant and friendly. Check in and check out were efficient. The room itself had a nice view of the ocean and pool. This is the second time we have stayed here. We went back because of our good experience the first time 3 years ago. The room is spacious & clean (and I am OCD about my hotel rooms!) There is obvious wear & tear from the salt water, but overall, it was not in bad condition. They gave us a free upgrade during check-in and all of their oceanview rooms […] offer a stunning view of the Atlantic. The pool was great and it was nice to watch kids swim while enjoying the ocean view. The hotel was run down and needed some heavy maint. Did not say anything about having to pay for parking on the resevation but was charged when we arrived. The rating was a 4.5 star more like a 2.5.

Right on the beach and within walking distance to several interestpoints. Hotel service and room was OK, but needs repair and freshining up bathroom. Room was spacy, we brought a childs travel bed and found good room for it.

Overall experience was good. Location was perfect for walking pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. only complaints were if you werent sitting at the bar you, you were lucky if you got any service. The balconies are a nice idea but are pretty much pointless as all the furniture and all the balconies them self were covered in bird pooh. Minus those two […] small issues stay was great. Staff was very professional and accomendating to every request. I recommended this hotel to the VP of my service department and he was very satisfied also. Great stay.

Nice hotel. Nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about. Everything worked. Had to pay five dollars for parking.

my husband had to check in before I got there and they gave him the wrong room. We booked ocean view king, we got street view 2 doubles. I was too tired to complain. He had already unpacked.
