Great hotel. Right nearby our day at Busch Gardens.
"An older hotel and heavily utilized but fine."
The Crowne Plaza in Williamsburg is a big and older hotel. Parking can get iffy later at night as there are bus loads of kids and tourists. It is a nice hotel and the rooms are comfortable and amenities ice, given the age. The landscaping, especially the Forth Magruder area courtyard is lovely. It is very convenient to most locations including the CW […] area and Busch Gardens. It is not my favorite Williamsburg hotel but certainly up there with them and a nice stay. "Good Hotel for the price"
Stayed at this hotel for the extended Easter weekend. The location of this hotel is very convenient. Only a few minuted from Merchant Square and a few minutes to Busch Gardens. I took my two dogs with me. The hotel was very pet friendly and made it very easy to walk the dogs without having to go through the hotel lobby and they even had baggies around […] the hotel to ensure that people cleaned up after their dogs. "beds are awful"
The people who work at the hotel are very nice. the hotel is a bit on the older side. The rooms are ok, they could use some up dating. The TV is a box TV not a flat screen. The mattress is the worst that I have ever slept on. It sag in the middle ad the edges were sharp. I would not stay here next time I am in Williamsburg.

The Crowne Plaza in Williamsburg was great. The location was convenient, the hotel clean and the staff was very nice. The bathroom was quite small but otherwise everything was fantastic. We would definitely stay there again.

Overall hotel was good but mattresses were hard and they really should have two queens in a room instead of just full size. I'm only 5 foot 6 and my feet almost hit the end of the bed. If you were not right at the headboard your feet hung off!

I picked this hotel for the location which was good and the fact that it had what appeared to be a very nice indoor pool according to the pictures on the website (we were traveling in December). The pool was disgusting. It was yellow and looked like it had not been cleaned in months. Would not allow my children to go any where near it.

Would definitely stay again. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant and lounge on site. Very quiet location not too far to Colonial Williamsburg or Busch Gardens. Booked in advance online and received a very good rate.

This is an older hotel. The lobby was decorated beautifully for Christmas, the rest of the hotel displayed its age. There was a hot tub and heated pool. Both were a bit cloudy. Our room was clean for the most part, a little mold was found in the tub and the tv was outdated and didnt get good reception. The bed was too firm for me and I woke up with […] a back ache. The nature of my stay was to attend a family funeral in Wmbg. The staff went out of their way to accomodate our party of (4) by seeing to it that our rooms were available much earlier than normal check-in time ; once they realized we had traveled through the night from N.Y. and needed to be at the funeral by early morning. "Staff Overwhelmed"
We come to this hotel often and are usually happy with the amenities and service, it is probably the best place to stay in Williamsburg with a pet. However the last visit they were very busy with conferences and the service suffered. The front desk was scattered and made mistakes, the breakfast room was crazy and I was mistakingly seated with a group […] and then told I had to move. Spending one night at this hotel was enough to make me want to come back if the need ever arises. Staff was friendly and helpful and even allowed us to order room service breakfast 10 minutes before the breakfast cut-off. Rooms were clean and comfortable, especially with the down comforters. "Good hotel for the location"
We normally stay here when we go to Williamsburg. This is an older hotel, and it needs updating. However, I think if they updated, it may be out of our price range. Most hotels in Williamsburg are older, so it's no big deal to us. We had to change rooms due to the noise near the vending machines. There was a school group that didn't know there were […] other people in the hotel. They would yell down the hallway at midnight, and then again at 7 a.m. I am a night owl, and that is not the way I wanted to wake up on my vacation. I complained to the front desk and they moved us. I think they should have done more to ask the school group to be courteous, but I don't know if they realized that they could. They can't help that they have rude guests, but I still feel like more could have been done to keep them in line. The last several times we came, there were other school groups, but it was so quiet, we hardly noticed. There were people chatting in the halls once they moved us, but that didn't bother me. It was the yelling that was really annoying. Overall, the hotel is nice. The service is good. Christine was very kind to my husband and I. She gave us a nicer room right by the man-made waterfall. I like the balcony when I'm not on the first floor. We didn't try breakfast because there are so many good places to eat in Williamsburg. The hotel is very close to Busch Gardens, Water Country USA and Colonial Williamsburg. Excellent location with the choice of many restaurants nearby. Friendly and helpful front desk staff and when a light was out on the desk the maintenace was quick to come in to replace the bulb.

This hotel was more than we expected. Having a small dog to travel with, they were exceptional in all areas. Pet walking area especially clean, well groomed and very pleasant. Room was also very comfortable. will definitely stay again if going to this area. More than satisfied customer

I went to Williamsburg with my friends for about 4 days. We chose this location since it was close to Colonial Williamsburg and its amenities like the outdoor and indoor pool. We got to check in early which was nice but there were some minor problems. We had to call the cleaning ladies to fix our beds since they never came. The bathroom was very tiny […] and the room looked a little old. We did have a balcony so that was nice. I just did not like the fact that we had to ask for more towels and call the cleaning ladies to do our bed. The indoor pool was alright. "The Crowne Plaza in Williamsburg VA"
Check in was horribly late. We had to wait 2 hours after check in before we finally got our room. 2 of the 3 ice machines on our floor did not work. On the up side the staff was friendly.
"Old and rundown hotel in a bad area"
The star rating of this hotel does not match its condition. There have been some surface upgrades but if you look beyond the bed covers, you'll find that the drapes are old, torn, and dirty, the sliding patio doors do not open, some of the bath fixtures do not work, the carpet looks and feels very old...just to name a few things. "Quiet hotel very close to Busch Gardens!"
We were looking for a hotel with an indoor pool, located close to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. The Crowne Plaza was a great choice! Our room was so quiet, we got excellent sleep and were ready for fun-filled days at the attractions! Good indoor pool (although the water was really cold ). Thanks
"Very poor excuse for a Crowne Plaza"
We have grown to associate Crowne Plaza with above average accomodations. This Williamsburg Crowne Plaza was more like a Days Inn! What a dump! We ended up not even staying (I have no idea whether I can get my money back). As we drove up to the lobby we noticed a lot of young men loitering around the cars. As my family walked in, we heard a man drop […] an F bomb within about 10 feet of us. After that jarring moment, I went into the lobby hoping for the best. The clerk was friendly enough. I asked whether we would be able to request a different room if the room didn't meet expectations. She replied, 'we're full. This is your room' I continued to hope. We got a room right next an ice machine, mere feet from an elevator. Smelled mold in the hallway as we approached it. Went in and discovered our view of the parking lot, complete with loitering men. Also noticed how worn all the furniture was, the sagging beds, the filth behind the headboards, the stained wallpaper and the crudgy tiny bathroom. We were tired and considered staying even though we weren't comfortable. Then we heard a guy yelling at another and realized we wouldn't sleep comfortably, worrying about the bizarreness outside whether we were tired or not. So we got on the phone, found a room at a nearby resort that we would have to rush to get, returned our room keys and left. Hotels.com has never let me down like this before. I am so disappointed. Beautiful Decor inside and outside. Staff pleasant and very helpful. Nice pool and surrouding outside area.Nice view of pool in dining, restaurant. Free internet ,great.Close to Colonial Williamsburg , Busch Gardens and Shopping Outlets. Plenty of places to eat,nearby.

"Smallest bathroom I have ever seen"
This hotel was most disappointing. Although the room was adequate, the bathroom was so small that there was about 1 inch on either side of the toilet between the tub and the door. The food in the restaurant was horrendous and the bartender could not even make a cosmopolitan. The pool was FILTHY. You could not see the bottom.

Stayed at this hotel on our way to the beach. Thought it was alright, but nothing spectacular. Room price was reasonable but will probably try a different hotel next time we're in the area. Hotel was very nice with a lot of high end touches including a beautiful lobby/atrium, marble and fine wood moldings. The rooms were a bit small especially for a family of five. There were a number of minor issues, like one day no maid service and a broken sliding door to the patio also the hallway carpets were dirty and other minor issues surrounding […] the grounds. There were many trees creating a lot of shade but also created a lot a fallen debris that wasn't cleaned up. The hotel did have a number of events which did make our stay pleasurable. Hotel had an old world charm. The rooms were smaller than most of the newer facilities but was adequate and confortable. The restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful although the breakfast was not the greatest.

Good facilities with indoor and outdoor pool and good quality restaurant and room service food. Hotel was looking a bit tired and although the rooms themselves were clean, the hallways and elevator floors could have done with a bit more of a clean. Helpful and friendly staff and in a good location. Staff were happy to let us change rooms from 2 double […] beds to a king and sofa bed. "What we expected"
Nice place to stay, The beds were a little stiff and the sheets didn't seem to fit the mattresses (kept popping off at the slightest move) but overall it was a nice comfortable stay, the outside pool was great for the kids. The Hotel was within great mileage to Busch Gardens and Water Country. The outside pool was not as clean as I expected. Room was exceptionally clean, and the beds sleep really good. On the down side the desk did not let us know what the Hotel offered and what was hoing on at the time, We were out of the room all day saturday , got back around 4:30 […] room had not been touched. "Excellent! Way better than expected!"
Great hotel, great price, great location. I had read negative reviews but when we got to the hotel the place was top notch. The bathroom was a bit small but with the sink outside of the stool there was plenty of room. Weight room was great as well as the pools. We had to book last minute for a family function and hotel.com hooked us up.

The Crowne Plaza was a perfect location for our weekend getaway to Williamsburg. It was about equal distance from the Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Garden. Also, the staff was very good and helpful. We had two couples traveling together. When we arrived, our rooms were not near each other, but the staff moved one couple to a room right next door […] to the other. We were went about our day, and we came back to our new room.
