We stayed for one night for a small getaway. Overall it was a good experience. Our toddler loved the pool area. We liked having a balcony in our room but at night we could hear a toilet flush from upstairs and our breakfast that was brought to our room had hair in it. "Don't be misled by their star rating"
I assumed a pricey resort and spa would have exceptional service and idyllic amenities. Our hotel room was extremely comfortable, but we couldn't enjoy the balcony with lake view that we paid extra for because of the bugs, spider webs, and debris that enveloped our balcony. It appeared to have never been swept and when we tried to walk out we had a […] face full of spider webs. When we went for a breakfast buffet two buildings over on the resort property, we walked in and weren't greeted. We stood there ignored and finally asked a waiter if we seat ourselves. He said, "No." and turned around and walked off. Finally, we just sat ourselves. Needless to say, we were never waited on. As we got our food and a male waiter brought us water. No one ever came over. Then, when we started to finish our first plate, a female waiter took the plates and we asked for our waiter to which no one came. When we finished, we sat their idle waiting and the someone else came with our check. Now, after we began eating, it is important to note a gentleman showed up and began greeting and guiding customers to be seated and about the buffet. However, we didn't have this pleasure. I visited this resort 20 years ago when my dad and I flew down to sleepy Lakeway airport and visited the restaurant. It was fun to return. In some ways its the same little hideaway - but updated. "Disappointing"
We reserved and paid for a lakeside room with a balcony. Upon check-in they had us in a hillside room. It actually overlooked the parking lot. "Great place to relax and a hidden gem!"
Our trip to Honolulu over Spring break fell through due to last-minute illness. We were blessed to be able to make reservation at the Lakeway Resort and Spa after our family felt better. We even got the Lakeview room on the 5th floor upon our request. We spent three days at the resort and felt completely relaxed by the time we left. Around 10 minutes after we had checked in our room, complimentary fresh-cut fruits, yogurt, and buttered pecans were delivered to our room for our afternoon snacks. This is one of the reasons that we've been coming back here at least once or twice a year over the last 5 years when ever we need to do long weekend get away -- from the Houston heat. "Lakeway Resort & Spa very nice neighborhood"
Lakeway is a very, very nice place to stay. The staff there is just the best. They are all very nice, polite and always had a smile on their face. The only complaint we had was that the walls in the rooms are paper thin. You can hear everything going on in the rooms beside you, so we didn't get too much sleep.

The hotel itself is really nice, and the surrounding neighborhood is gorgeous. But it's really far from Austin and it takes 10 minutes to drive to the nearest... anything. The coffee bar and the (only) restaurant on the premises are terribly expensive. It cost my wife and I $50 for lunch: two entrees, an appetizer and 2 cokes. No liquor. My partner and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of September and absolutely loved our stay! The hotel is in a beautiful location and I would completely advise spending a little extra to get a lake view room. The views are stunning. All of the staff are really friendly and always took time to ask us how we were and how we were enjoying […] our stay. We were treated to a complimetary happy hour everyday of free beer and wine and were overwhelmed by the hospitality of the staff. We ate on site for the majority of our stay and can not say one bad thing about our experience. We had the buffet breakfast each morning for $12.95 and were treated to an array of food. We also ate in Josies restaurant on site an were treated to some gorgeous meals (and dessserts) for great value prices. Overall a fantastic stay and we would recommend to all. We went down for labor day weekend. The pool is great, the staff we awsome!!! Great time chilling by the pool and then the valet gave us a golf cart ride down to the marina where we rented a boat for the day. Great room service food and pool side as well. Top-notch service along with a quality product is what I am looking for most when I spend the money on a premium hotel and Lakeway Resort did not disappoint. The management staff there is great and the spa was delightful. Try the Candlelight Retreat package.
