We have stayed at this hotel 4 times now when passing through Portland. It has met expectations every time-kind of a divey hotel, but perfect place to lay your head. It's pretty close to downtown and the bar downstairs has great beers on tap-a great starting place while you wait for a cab. My only advice would be to stay in the back section away from […] the road if you can. We had always ended up in the back, this time, however, they gave us room 73- and we were kept awake by loud motor sounds all night! Regardless, we will probably stay here again, I recommend it to anyone planning on going out late and just wanting a decent place to crash! Przeczytaj więcej

"No matter what others wrote before"
I read all the other reviews, before booking this room. Yes it is on the edge of town but easy access to everything, The bar down stairs was full of locals and quite fun. The price perfect. Not super fancy, but if you want fancy, you need to get a room in one of the higher priced hotels. This was perfect for me and my girl and we will be staying there […] again. Friendly, free parking and clean rooms ..woot. See you again soon! Przeczytaj więcej
"The best part..."
...is that Suki's is below it.
"Dive Bar + Dive Hotel = Fun!"
The location and karaoke bar inside are the main reasons we stayed at this little gem of a hotel. The room was Febreez-ed like crazy and needed to be aired out when we arrived, but the price was super low so we had equally low expectations. You can easily walk downtown from the hotel. The breakfast is delicious, with an indie rock station playing in […] the background for all you hipsters nursing a hang over. We had a blast one night singing karaoke with a packed bar. Don't stay here if you expect a nice hotel with all the fixings. It is dingy with a pretty lame tv and the shower barely worked. But it was clean and the bed was actually quite comfortable. A perfect, cheap place to rest your head after enjoying the many wonders that Portland has to offer. Przeczytaj więcej
"Nothing Fancy"
It's nothing fancy and a little bit dated, but for the money and location it's a great value. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again during my next visit to Portland.
"Better than expected"
Because this is a two star hotel, I wasn't expecting much. When we arrived we discovered it was in a great location (very close to downtown so we could walk everywhere) and our room was incredibly clean and updated. We asked for a nonsmoking room and got one (there wasn't even the leftover smoke smell from other rooms). The staff were helpful in finding […] great places to eat. I would stay here again anytime. Thanks Travelodge! Przeczytaj więcej
"Transporte Downtown Portland"
Nice, clean hotel with a friendly staff. Good place for the money.
"Don't expect much"
If you were looking for a quiet place to rest, this is not it. But if you are looking for nostalgia, you found it. This is like a motel 6 out of the 50-60's era. Even the toilets come with those large 4 gallon tanks that I thought would be illegal, especially in the Green City of Portland. And sitting on a toilet seat that near the floor is a little […] too low for me, but does make it easier for a 4 year old to get up on it all by her self. Comfort: I was there in early March. Bring warm clothes unless you are OK with a noisy wall unit heater fan cycling on and off every five minutes blowing over you to "warm" you up. Acoutics: The motel is practically on top of the freeway, which is actually not the main source of disturbing noise. Don't expect to get a good nite's sleep unless you have some really good ear plugs. But, even that didn't work because at 4AM, the neighboring guest decided to turn on a radio to let everyone know he was getting ready to leave. Yes, the walls are thin, but remember you are on a freeway and it is an ancient motor inn. Smell: The carpet smells of that cleaning fluid that most low end motels have to hide the odor and whatever else was in the carpet. It can't be very healthy. Internet: It did not work. Good: it is the least expensive I could find near the University (so, why should I complain) and I did not find any bed bugs. Przeczytaj więcej
"Travelodge in downtown Portland, OR"
The price was right on. Older hotel, but clean and adequately furnished. The staff response was excellent.
"Travelodge - Downtown Portland, OR"
Reasonably clean and quiet, and on the edge of downtown Portland. My rating reflects that it was what I thought it would be. I was not expecting or looking for upscale and it met my baseline for quiet and cleanliness.
"Travelodge Portland City Center - a good value"
My stay was comfortable and quiet. Not sure what all the fuss was about the kareoke bar. My stay was so quiet that I slept in and was late to a meeting. Nothing fancy but definitely a good value. Be aware that the hotel is on the other side of I-405 from the downtown area. Difficult to get to if you don't know you way around Portland or have a reliable […] GPS. Przeczytaj więcej

"A Little Run Down Mystery Place"
Locals (even cab drivers) had a hard time finding this hotel. Te heating system was very loud and had to be turned off when I was in the room. Also, I left my room at 9:00 and when I came back at 12:30, it still wasn't made up. Also, my room key got de-magnetized twice even though I kept it in my pocket. It was fine but I wouldn't choose to stay there […] again. Przeczytaj więcej
"Cheap, clean stay"
This is no 5 star resort, but I have no complaints! The rooms are good size, with a fridge and microwave. The hotel is very close to downtown - only like a 5 minute cab ride downtown. The rooms were clean and cheap. I would definitly stay here again!
"Run down hotel with bad appearancr"
I must say that I have stayed at several motels and none were as bad as this particular stay. Part of the hotel is combined with a bar/restaurant, and I was concerned upon first glance with all the people loitering outside smoking. And my room was right over said bar, which led to a lot of noise in the middle of the night. I forgot to bring toothpaste, […] and the front desk did not have any, which I wouldn't really fault them for, except I had to travel quite far to find a place that would sell toothpaste. And more so than anything else, my pillows smelled (all three of them), which really concerns me about the cleanliness of the hotel, and I had to sleep in my clothes and without a pillow. "good location..and affordable"
Conveniently located in Portland Downtown and affordable. The rooms were okay and the service was satisfactory.Thank you Hotel.com
Not bad. Door was a little shaky. Great location for the price! Room was clean, bathroom was cleaner.
"Travelodge - Portland City Center - only if..."
Beware! This is not a hotel for everyone! It's inexpensive and clean (no bedbugs) but they do have a Karaoke lounge on the bottom floor of the main building which will keep you awake. My recommendations if you want to stay here: 1) bring earplugs 2) know that they have radiant heating in the ceiling so even though you don't hear anything when you move […] the wall mounted thermostat it is working 3) as for a room on the top floor or in the adjacent building 4) be prepared for little or no parking if you get in late Good luck Przeczytaj więcej
The hotel is in a good location, convenient to downtown. Parking is free, but limited. Our room was clean and pleasant, though the coffee maker positioned in the bathroom next to the toilet wasn't very inviting and the TV remote doesn't control the TV, just the cable box on top, so you have to get up to change volume and turn TV off. The front desk […] staff we dealt with were not particularly welcoming. When we discovered that the hotel wifi (advertised as included feature on sign out front) was not accessible from rooms distant to the lobby we politely requested a different room. We were refused and told to access the internet from the lobby. Przeczytaj więcej
"Travellodge. It gets the job done."
We didn't want to lose a wad, but needed a hotel. It was fine. My husband is really sensitive to poorly-maintained spaces, ie. he reacts strongly to mold, toxic cleaning agents, dust, petroleum products, gluten ... the list goes on and on. He was comfortable at this travellodge. Our biggest complaint was that the free Wi-Fi was extremely low bandwidth, […] resulting in a pretty non-functional Wi-Fi. We enjoyed getting breakfast at the greasy spoon, Suki's, located in the same building as the travellodge. It was reasonable ($8-9 for breakfast), and the servings were huge ... take out boxes every day. The service at Suki's was great, too. They give you a coupon for Suki's if you stay in the travellodge hotel. (buy one, get one 50% off, or get 20% off one) Przeczytaj więcej

"Old and barely passable"
Where to start... this place is VERY difficult to get to - surrounded by one-way streets and heavy commuter traffic. If you miss the turn off the freeway it's 8 miles beforfe you can turn around - despite what Google Maps says. No restaraunts nearby - except for the karoke place in the basement that leaves it's doors open all night. University of Portland […] is two blocks away and many students think they can sing. Oh - and there's the 24 hour ambulance service next door whose drivers feel the need to turn the sirens on to get out of the driveway. No complimentary breakfast, wireless internet is "free" - only when it works. I'd rather sleep in the park than stay here again. Przeczytaj więcej
"Good For The Price"
This Travel Lodge is in an odd location and surrounded by one way streets. The buildings are older and the rooms are not as nice as a lot of other motels. Some of the fixtures were not working quite right. But "housekeeping" did a good job. If you don't want to pay $100.00 a night plus near downtown PTRLD It's good for the price.
"Good location but needs improvement!!!"
This hotel was in a very convenient location. Very close to downtown and just block/s to highway. The room was a welcome site with the spacious area and King Size bed. The washroom was in total shambles as the tub is CLOGGED!!! It doesn't drain after few secs of water flow!!! Mentioned it to the counter on check-out but got a nonchalant shrug. The restaurant […] on the first floor doubles up as a Karaoke bar at night!!! And no minors allowed for dine in!!! Przeczytaj więcej
"Travelodge Portland City Center"
Shame on Travelodge! Bathroom was filthy, carpets and room smelled disgusting. If we hadn't arrived exhausted at 2AM we would have gone anywhere else. An embarrassment to the beautiful city of Portland.
"Good for the price"
My wife and I stayed here for two nights on our trip to Portland. While we didn't spend much time in our room, we felt this was the better of two hotels we stayed at. It was clean and we had no problems checking in, even when we didn't get in until almost 11pm. I did notice the smell of propane in the morning when the cleaning staff was doing their […] rounds and I was surprised to see they still sell cigarettes in a vending machine. I recommend you take advantage of visiting the bar/restaurant below the hotel. They have great breakfast at excellent prices, however I did feel the wait staff was a bit distant. Przeczytaj więcej

"Portland Travelodge"
Good value; clean, well-equipped room; comfy bed; comfy bed; friendly and helpful staff. So long as you don't mind a few minutes walk, it is convenient for the free-ride area tram stop at the university, and only ten minutes walk into the city centre.
"Travelodge Portland CC - covers the basics"
We had a group of us staying in 2 rooms here during the beer festival. Only stayed one night but was only a 5min ($10approx) taxi ride from clubs & bars in town which was pretty convenient for us. Had no issues during our stay and all facilities were sufficient for our needs. Good for groups travelling with a budget.

"One-frill basic hotel"
The rate was right, the bathroom was clean, the location was very convenient to the city as well as the friends in Beaverton I was seeing, and there was free wi-fi in rooms, not just common areas. Works for me!
"Try for a 2nd Floor Patio!"
This hotel is kinda hard to find. It's address is 2401 SW 4th, which is across the freeway from 2100 SW 4th! GPS will send you in circles. We drove around and around in the one-way streets, then realized that the hotel HAD to be across the fwy. Check in went well, and our room was on the second floor, facing the inside of the parking quad. Only about […] 10 rooms have glass doors and a balcony outside. we got one and sat on the patio chairs provided, read and enjoyed a bottle of wine, in the lovely Portland sunshine (I realize that sunshine is rare in Portland). Rooms on the other side (street side) of the hallway have no balcony, and rooms across the court are ENTERED from outside, which means that you COULD pull room chairs outside, but people would walk by you to get to their rooms. Lastly, the hotel is SUPER close to Portland State University, downtown, old City Hall, and the Court House. We walked down to Nordstrom,, Macys, H&M, etc. There is a fun "food cart court" along SW 4th with cheap and delicious food served from legal food trailers parked there. I would stay here again. The bed was very comfy, and the room was clean. There was FREE parking, which is a difficult item at some hotels. (One we looked at charged an additional TWENTY DOLLARS for parking! YIKES! BTW, I suspect that we GOT the cool patio room BECAUSE we used Hotels.Com. People like me write reviews, and that patio room was a real find. I expect they put us in there to get a positive review, and guess what? They did! Przeczytaj więcej

"This is not the Hilton"
The bed was well past broken in, the sockets were mostly attached to the walls. And the plumbing all worked. The staff were all really pleasant people. There's a bar on the first floor. Free pool. I never went there in the evenings, though, because I was in Portland; so I can't speak to the night life. This was in a good location. A few blocks from […] PSU and the train. Just far enough off the beaten path to cost a little less. I'd stay here again. Przeczytaj więcej

"It does a job"
This hotel is a cheap option for staying close to the center of Portland. It did the job. Although conveniently located the walk was a little too far to go back to the room and then go out again several times a day. Unfortunately the room we stayed in smelt of stale cigarettes, but apart from that was comfortable enough. Other reviews have mentioned […] the karaoke bar underneath and we were able to hear that until 2am, but it did not bother us during our stay. The same bar beneath did serve a very tasty breakfast with friendly service (although the day we visited the service was slow). This hotel is significantly cheaper than other "downtown" locations in Portland and there is a reason for this but that if you are willing to sacrifice some quality then it is a good deal. I would neither recommend or not recommend this hotel and it will fit specific people's needs perfectly. I would have been happy apart from the cigarette smell. Przeczytaj więcej

"Great Motel"
The Travelodge is a good place to stay if you are in town for the night life...it was clean and well maintained. The bar downstairs, Sukis, was kind of snooty. The Karoke people acted like they owned the bar and we were intruders. The only downside is it's an awkward location. All in all, it was a positive experience.
"A place to stay for cheap"
Depending on what you are looking for this is either a great deal or a place never to go back too. Pros: 1. Cheap! 2. Has a frige and microwave Cons: 1. Old building not Motel 6 dirty but not what I would expect from a 3 star hotel 2. There are no "Bad" Area's in Portland but this wasn't as good as others 3. No elevators 4. No breakfast (coffee isn't […] considered food) Przeczytaj więcej
"Great location, decent price, so-so lodging."
Was worth the price and convenience but barely. Stayed a Wed and Thur night and was awoken to karaoke music at 1:30am Fri morning. Place is dated but was fairly clean. I felt safe in the location.
"Travelodge City Center, Portland, Oregon"
Great deal for the money. Clean, good service, good location.
"travelodge portland city center"
I stayed at this hotel with my parents due to a hospital visit, it was very convenient for us to be at the hospital at 8:00 am, their is no free breakfest but the price was good. Will use again for the convenience.
Pretty basic hotel with some rather old furnishings and decor but it passes. Aside from the basic stuff like having a bathroom and bed here are some things that stand out: Good - Wifi internet is very good, and works downstairs in the bar/restaurant - The bar downstairs, though not part of the hotel, is pretty good. They serve breakfast from 7am and […] the staff are very nice. Bad - A bit noisy with traffic and people from the bar on Friday/Saturday nights - I couldn't get the TV to show any more than once channel (MTV), which I'm sure I could have fixed with help from hotel staff. I wasn't interested in watching TV so this didn't bother me. - No fridge in the room. Not that it should have one but I bought beer and couldn't keep it cold! Przeczytaj więcej
Staff was very nice and accomodating. Good choice for the money. Food downstairs was also good. Easy to get downtown.
