I appreciated the quality of the Fairmont.

Would actually rate at 3.5. Overall room cleanliness fine (not 100% but "fine") but the grout in the tub/shower combo definitely needed some cleanup, not what I expected from Fairmont. We did get a great rate & were in a basic room category; however I think cleanliness should not depend on one's room category. Lobby does look nice. Location fine for […] our needs (to go different directions with transit). For 2 of 4 days we had a car, but the parking was so expensive that it was cheaper for us to park at relatives & bus to & from the hotel ($11 return). This is a Beautiful Hotel , always has been - with great service , but when you stay in room 436 , you will have a tough time sleeping between the noisy Fan circulation out of the Heating and AC system , but the actual real noise is the constant trains that pass by right below over the weekend....not sure how to confirm this isnt a constant issue - […] just request not to fsce the south side if you are on a lower room floor - Przeczytaj więcej

The bathroom looked like a hostel. mold in bathroom, HomeDepot hardware and fixtures, Caulking around tile instead of grout, basically third world type repairs and materials in the room. Seriously, Im pretty easy going as far as this stuff goes, but it was not even on the same planet as a 3 or 4 star joint, not even close... Just stayed for one night. Got a good deal on the room and even got an upgrade after I asked. Hotel can be expensive, but on weekends it is often comparable to other lesser quality hotels in downtown Calgary. I will be back.

It has a wonderful atmosphere, harkening back to the days when travel was more leisurely, usually by train. It is connected to the Telus Convention center by the city's overhead walkway system, but unfortunately it does not go much beyond that. We enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Palliser with one complaint. The booking indicated a Queen size bed, but there is no way that was a queen size. It is a double bed. It was quite comfortable but they should not mis-represent information like that.

We LOVED this Hotel ... everyone was so kind, food was amazing, it was clean and beautiful :) We will be returning for sure!

Very charming with all the amenities. A real classic hotel.

When I checked in at 2:00 the hotel was very accomodating.....I checked out at 3:30 the same day due to a family emergency and called the front lobby and asked for some sort of credit....they said they would give a credit but can't because it was booked through hotels.com.....I haven't spoke with anyone with this company but can you please have someone […] contact me via email....Many thanks.... As a renowned quality hotel, the discount room I was given was extremely tiny and in need of maintenance and repairs. Very dusty vents and the bathtub wouldn't drain. Overall, the room was comfortable, especially the bed.

We came to The Fairmont to get the higher class room for a change. Long story short, Holiday Inn is way nicer and cheaper.

Excellent place to stay. Woulsd recommend this Hotel to friends

This is suppose to be a flagship hotel in Calgary but the rooms are badly dated the expected level of services below what I had expected for a premium priced hotel. Price was high service was tolerable. I expect great service for Luxury Style Hotel. Lots of confusion with staff and check-ups. High-speed was complimentary, but you have to sign up for their points/rewards card (free). Some house-keeping lady kept bothering my door with a please do not disturb sign. She was walking around with a clipboard and seemed […] suspicious. The room was freezing, I had the heater cranked up. The room was very clean, beds ... Ohhh did not want to get out, comfortable! I was so pleased with their beds, I purchased a new set for my home. Complimentary coffee is delicious. Soaps and bathroom products are great, they give you more than enough for your stay. We stayed at the Palliser over an extremely cold weekend in Calgary. Our conference was at the Telus Convention Centre, easily accessible via the Plus 15 walkway (indoors all the way!). After 2 days inside however, despite the cold outside, we needed some fresh air and were very pleased with the restaurant options close by this lovely old hotel. From reception to check-out everything was perfect. Great location and beautifully maintained.

difficult with parking and access. Ended up parking in garage quite a ways away, and we did not know about the mezanine access, so walked around in a poor neighbouhood. Hotel cleanliness needs attention.. many dead flies in light covers in hallways, and pool sides not cleaned if not accessable from pool side. Stay was nice otherwise,

The Filipina named Celeste was tremendous. She was so helpful in all our queries , in fact she gaved us complimentary breakfast - it was one for the books , extremely likely to recommend ! What a service !

The Palliser Hotel is an elegant graceful oasis in the heart of busy downtown Calgary. Our room was charming, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend the Palliser and I will make a point of visiting again!

Great location right in downtown, close to shopping, restaurants and bars.

Lovely hotel, but is showing it's age a little in the main lobbies but you should expect this from a hotel which is probably close to a 100 years old. Service was helpful and friendly, hotel location keeps you right in the heart of downtown with most attractions fairly close. My only complaint was the bathroom, very small not for the claustrophobic, […] was pretty bad that you would have to sit sideways to use the biffy as to not have your knees rest directly on the vanity, It was that close I could have brushed my teeth at the same time.... Loved our stay....very comfortable beds! Beautiful old hotel....... The only concern not very sound proof....Heard everything in hallway and outside on busy street

The hotel is an historic site in calgary so expect elegant grandueur. The lounge areas are very nice although always seemed to be full of wedding guests when I was there. There isnt much space at front of hotel on the road so if friends/family picking you up/dropping off this can be a problem as often there are coaches blocking whole space. There is a spa which isnt owned by hotel so a bit annyoing you can not charge treatments to your room. Shopping Malls and Museums are all within easy reach. We came for wedding night and when we booked we where told we'd have a 4 star room and a gicuzie tub. When we got their we were told our room had just gone to the last people to come in. When we got to our room it was very disappointing, our room was very small and the tub was smaller than our standard size tub at home. I went down to the front desk […] to see what they could do about it. I was down there for 15 minutes on my wedding night trying to get the hotel staff to do something for me. I finally suggested they upgrade my room and add a complimentary breakfast. To which they complied, however it cost me precious time with my new bride. I'm not sure if we will ever be back. My job has taken me from the U.S. to Canada, Brazil, Europe, and North Africa and this hotel has the best overall combination of service and facilities. I won't stay in Calgary unless it's the Palliser.
