This motel is conveniently located near Duke University. The staff was pleasant. The room was comfortable and clean. The complimentary breakfast was filling. I will be returning to Duke in a couple of months and looking forward to staying at the Holiday Inn Express.

"Holiday Inn Express Durham"
Overnight stay for the Duke-NC State basketball game. Several other stops on the road trip (Spartanburg, Asheville, Tuscaloosa), but this was the best accomodation of the trip!
Internet was down so I couldn't work from the hotel. Front desk didn't even know the internet wasn't working until I brought it to their attention, and they didn't seem to believe me. Eventually other guests complained, but the front desk was very rude and did nothing to resolve the issue. I know they didn't do anything because they said so. We stayed in a king bed non-smoking room. The room was well appointed, large, and comfortable. Everything in the hotel was very clean. The bathroom was very nice and full of fluffy towels. Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room, as well as ironing board and hair dryer. The staff was very friendly. The area was industrial, so you had to drive […] if you wanted to go out to eat, but that was fine. The hotel is right next to the highway, which was convenient. We had the fan on in the room all night - a quiet fan - and we were not able to hear traffic noise from the freeway. The bed was very comfortable, even for a traveler in 3rd trimester of pregnancy! This was my second stay at this hotel, and I am sure it will not be my last! This will be my first choice everytime we visit Durham. The facility is clean, the staff (especially the security) are friendly and inviting. Lovely decor and the breakfast is great! Thanks Holiday Inn Express!

"Great hotel for Duke parents..."
This is our second stay at this location. Its minutes away from the Duke campus and just off the exit.from 85 The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is very helpful. Perfect for college parents...

Good hotel. Comfortable beds. Shower worked fine. Good free breakfast. Friendly, helpful front desk. Traffic patterns & location make it a bit tricky to get into and out of hotel parking lot at rush hour.
"right by the highway"
If you want it right by the highway, there it is. All the hotels are right together (Super 8 etc.) and right next to the highway ext. It isn't exactly scenic, but it is convenient. The breakfast was not the best. They didn't have the waffle maker that a lot of them have. No complaints. About what I expected.

"LOUD hotel"
This hotel is at a noisy intersection and right next to the hwy. I was awakened several times by loud trucks passing by as well as the man coughing all night in the room next to me. I had actually asked for the quietest room and they put me on the 2nd floor facing the street and right next to the emergency escape stairwell (which many people take to […] get in some exercise) I had to have testing at Duke Hospital so the thought of switching rooms was too exhausting so we 'dealt with it',. This hotel was nice and clean. The beds were very comfortable. I slept very well. I would stay again.
"Cheap and convienient..nothing great though/"
This is basically just a nice, clean place to lay your head. The women at the front desk was just 'there'... not much personality. Overall, we would stay there again though because of the closeness to DUKE Hospital, Gardens, Chapel, Ect

The hotel was really nice and clean but there was a lot of repairing going on. There was indeed a lot of traffic from the men that was painting and repairing the hotel. Overall, my experience at this hotel was great!

"Good Hotel for the Area"
I'm from the area and was looking for a clean hotel in a safe neighborhood that's close to both northern Durham and the downtown attractions. This hotel fit my criteria perfectly. It's clean, in a convenient location and probably the best place to stay in the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Plus, they're pet friendly.

"Proche de l'autoroute"
Deuxième séjour, la chambre au 2ème étage. Extrêmement bruyant suite à la proximité de l'autoroute. Le séjour précédent, chambre au 4ème étage, était plus confortable.
