The Driver and front desk people went above and beyond

Only thing good about this hotel was the location and the interior design. The pool had yellow tag around it,the beds were like mats,the ac never stayed on,the elevator was like I was in a project high rise. The inside of the room was very clean but very uncomfortable and stuffy.

This hotel was perfect for our needs, and I would definitely stay there again. It is in a great location, had a very reasonable pricepoint for the location, was a good sized room (two of us, two double beds, plenty of room for our stuff), bright, clean, attractive. There is a small pool, it's a block from the beach, in the middle of miami beach nightlife, […] they offered breakfast, bottled water, beach towels, and happy hour drinks all included. Fantastic location, great deal. The room was spacious, bright, clean and pleasant. We were very pleased. It's not fancy but we got breakfast, happy hour drinks, beach towels and a small pool all included. I would definitely stay here again.

Not good. Hairdryer and Iron broken when we arrived and 2 days later still no one came to fi xor replace . Walls too thin with next door revelers partying on till the early morning. No action from reception over the accessing noise. When it came time to leave we had to bring our 7 suitcases and bags down by ourself. I advsied that my wife is 7 month […] pregnant and that I also hae a 2 year old toddler. Still no sympathy from reception. Reason given, "sorry there are no staff avaialble during the week". Also the suitcase trolley was somewhere unbeknown to reception staff, so I had to go from floor to floor to look for it. With only one slow small lift it took us over an hour to eventually check out. the lobby needs a fresh coat of paint and the walls of the rooms need reinforcement (hear the next room talking) and the beds squeak. very friendly staff, though. not worth the extra $15 "resort fee". it's not a resort! and the valet is $30 not $27, as stated in the ad. plus they tack on additional taxes. take care to consider that when comparing costs […] with other hotels. This is one of many older hotels dating back to 1950's, and close enough to walk to the famous Art Deco district, Historic Espanola Way, and also spend a leisurely time browsing at the Lincoln car free Mall. Easy to make choices on where and which restaurant to go.

My jaw dropped when I walked into the studio suite. So much space, clean soft bed, and full kitchen. I felt like i was walking into a nice studio apartment rather than a the typical south beach hotel. Very quiet atmosphere. Well worth the money spent. Great hotel for longer stays!

I was afraid to stay there after i read some of the reviews about unhelpfull staff etc. I was greeted by Ludmila at the desk and i was early to cjheck in. I askrd if she could help and she call housekeeping and they went immidiatly to make my room uo only a 1/2 hr wait. I found the hotel clean and friendly and the 15.00 resort charge gets you two breakfasts […] per day ,two bar drinks each daqy and free wireless internet. Man on the day of arrival was rude and unprofessional Woman on far of departure wasn't adequate at the front desk keeping the line long and there were no smiles from either or! OMG worst hotel I ever stayed at. Every time I Sat on the bed I fell in n I only weight 200 pounds. I can hear the people in the room over when ever they flushed the toilet or passed gas or had sex. The whole time when I was sleeping I thought someone was standing over my shoulder. The staff were rude n the whole place smelled like burgerking because […] there was a kitchen in the bottom. Very poor service : I arrived late and had to wait more than an hour to get my room! Other people before me were not given their rooms they had reserved and kept the receptionist busy until they got a room! Surprise when I had to pay an extra $15.00 + 13% for "resort fees" (including a breakfast voucher) then I had to give my credit card for a deposit […] which would be reimbursed 7 to 10 business days later! The hotel room was quite nice and clean. Then another surprise the next day when I went for breakfast. I ordered my breakfast, ate it and departed when the waiter called me back and ask me to pay. Surprise! I said I gave my voucher. He said it was only for continental breakfast and had to pay for my eggs! Then came the manager, a french woman who started to moan and groan about me (in french)... guess what? I am a French teacher with french mother tongue! and I understood all her bad language! I paid and went away gladly! What a way to treat people! This is a real shame as the hotel itself is very nicely art-deco furnished, clean and pleasant if that was not for those hidden fees and other bad service. The service at this hotel was questionable---I tried to get a drink at about 4 but was told the bar was closed, and there wasn't anywhere in the hotel to get one. The pool was tiny, very cold and completely shaded. There were only two chaise chairs but since there was no sun I guess that's understandable. We were very close to the beach, at least. There […] was a fire inspection our last day, and the alarm went off intermittently for 4 hours. We were only informed of the test after it had begun and was given CDs as an apology. Really? I have been to Miami 2 years ago, staying in marcelles hotel a little bit north. President is also good lacated, very convenient to beach, lincon road, and may restaurant. The room is clean, staff is hospital and also the resort fee including continental breakfast and cocktail. considering the average price in south beach, this is a really good choice. […] the regret is that the hotel has no beach and one block to beach, however, really no a big problem. the reason i rated the service quality and room clean as 3 is that the housekeeping didn't refresh the shampoo and body conditioner for 2 days, not sure if they unsatisfied with the tip. Great location and a friendly staff. Frank, front desk man was helpful in answering all of our questions from dinner recommendations to locating a florist. Would recommend this hotel to others and we will go back.

Good location, that's it. My room was extremely noisy, the walls are paper thin and I could hear the guy next room even snoring!!! The breakfast included in the price was really poor and after all this I was asked to pay $15 per day as "resort fee" and this was never mentioned when I booked the room.

The hotel was in a great location and clean. Watch out the doors weigh a thousand pounds and swing very hard. i broke my toe on the bathroom door as it closed. over all a clean set of accomodations in south beach.

I planned a birthday surprise party for my husband but what surprise!!!!! the worst hotel i have been stayed. NO PARKING, TOOK US 1 HOUR AND 15 MIN. TO FIND PARKING. Could you please remove and add the real pictures of THE PRESIDENT HOTEL.

check in was abt 45min later than stated, asked for a 2dbl bed got only 1 uncomfortable queen, but a friend who booked here told me after I booked that the person she spoke with said booking thru hotels.com does not mean you will get what you ask for you get whats left. The toilet was running and I had to put the flap down over the hole to stop it or listen to it all night. The TV would not get the main stations (NBC,CBS, ABC)and there was a loud constant rumbling noise that didn't ever stop. These conditions should not have existed. The bartender was very friendly.

This hotel is in a great location - right near the beach, restaurants and clubs. The rooms are decent - a little on the small side but clean and the bathrooms are tiny, but you get what you pay for. Overall - I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in south beach that needs a great location but does not want to pay a lot.

I could hear every thing outside of the room. The person above us was walking around in their room, and it sounded like they were stomping on the floor. The chandelier was shaking and making noises. Don't waste your money on the Penthouse, it's no larger of a room, just a single king size bed. AND NO BALCONIES... Other than that, this is a less expensive place to stay in south beach. Watch out for the $30 a day valet charge as well...

Old building, remodeled, great location. If location is a must look no further as this is in the middle of the action. Highly recommended. This was for a romantic honeymoon and was great.

Right in the heart of South Beach just one block from the beach. Close to fantastic restaurants!! Go to Jerry's deli for the best ZpStrami sandwich you will ever have. 2 minute walk from hotel on Collins. Beautiful spot on Espanola Way to eat, walk or just observe!! Hotel is nice, clean. Alicia at the front is an absolute doll!!! Very helpful. Walls […] are thin...especially for connecting rooms. We had a baby next door who cried at 7:00 am.... Breakfast is no frills. Croissants, Danishes, cereal, juice and coffee. Our group had 5 rooms total and the blow dryers in 4 of the rooms weren't working. Beds make noise but are comfortable. Clean, comfortable, minimal, well-located. What more could one ask for? There is one unpleasant thing: they tack on a "resort fee" at check-in (currently $15), which is not optional. This amounts to extortion. Much better to raise the price. Public parking nearby, daily rate of $20 at this time.

Not bad location, bad mattress should've been replaced years ago. Small bath room has broken sink stand and broken hair blower not working but making noise.

Internet and other ammenities were said to be included but were not -- indeed there was a $15 'resort' charge.

hotel is good, however there are hidden charges. on arrival the tell you you need to pay extra $15 resort fee per night an they also block out a large sum of money from your card incase of damages. they tell yiu this will be refunded on departure, however when i checked out they said it will take 10 days for the refund. they need to tell you this before […] you book a non refundable room! The service when checking in was rude and not welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, although the TV had bad reception. The biggest complaint would be that you can hear everything in the rooms next door, and I assume vice versa. I was here for only one night so it was fine and everything was modern and clean. I was extremely disappointed with this hotel selection. I was RUDELY greeted upon arrival and check-in was an irritating process, including extra (untold to me beforehand) fees, limited credit card acceptance, and a very rude front desk person to guide me through the process. After check-in, I see the room. NOTHING like the pictures. I'm not sure why […] I spent all the extra money I did to be in a "penthouse" suite. The room was nothing special and was missing the basic ammenities listed. The worst part about this hotel was that we never received maid service, in 4 DAYS!!!!.. When we called down to ask for towels, etc. since we didn't receive them, another attitude was given to us and I was told that I would need to go downstairs and get the items myself. I retrieved the towels, but on the third day when I needed toilettres and toilet paper, I requested that someone bring them up, since I hadn't received any maid service. It took the maid over a half hour to reach my room and when she came, SHE had an atittidude, acting like she was doing me a favor by doing her job. The pool area is not what you are probably expect. The pool is, without exagerration, 2 feet wide, by maybe 12 feet long on a tiny little patio. I would never stay here again. Nice location, clean rooms. The only problem is that we could everything our next door neighbors said. It is annoying especially when they arrive at 6am and put the music on.

This hotel is located a couple steps away from the beach, but as far as amendities go, there are none. the bed was so uncomfderable with springs sticking out, the room was miniture and the pool is awful, also the conntinental breakfast is cereal and bread.

The check-in and check-out service was not inviting nor did it allow me to want to use the services of The President again. At the time of check-in, it seemed like the receptionist was in the back asleep and when asking for copies of documentations that I signed there seemed to have been a problem obtaining them. If you want the true South Beach experience, you can't go wrong with this hotel. I've read some of the reviews on this and other South Beach hotels, and people should expect an older, Art Deco decorated neighborhood. Hotels in this area are not brand new, and they are boutique hotels, not chains. Don't fight it - enjoy it! The President's location […] couldn't have been better. I walked to the beach, convention center, shopping, and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and had charming decor. O.K., the sink area in the bathroom was very small and the bed was a bit creaky. However, this hotel was an extremely good value and that makes up for a little inconvenience. Choose a franchise hotel if you want to know exactly what to expect in every area! My co-workers stayed down the road and paid over 3 times what I paid for a similar hotel. The President was far nicer! Location was excellent, the staff were very helpful. I noticed that my sheets were not changed everyday and the towels even thought they were clean, they were stained. Otherwise my overall review is 4-5. All the staff were very nice and helpful.
