Apartament świetny! Mamy porównanie, bo często jesteśmy w hotelach. W tej cenie spodziewalismy się marnego standardu, a tu proszę ...niespodzianka i to miła!! To jest dosłownie mieszkanie, fajnie urzadzone , wygodne i czysciutkie. Pościel i ręczniki codziennie wymieniane i do tego sprzatane, nawet myja naczynia i wyrzucaja śmieci. Jedno z lepszych miejsc w jakich byliśmy. Jeden mały minus, to brak podjazdu dla niepełnosprawnych i to tyle. Polecamy, super!

"The Penguin Hotel - South Beach"
Great location. Clean rooms. Bathroom NOT air conditioned. Hallways SCARY. Ok for adults, would not take kids here.
"Miami Beach Hotel"
The hotel was very small and dirty. We didn't even want to touch the curtains to see the view of the ocean. The bed was really bad and the room musty smelling. For the cost, I would have expected a lot better.

I've stayed here a couple of times, and while the service isn't impeccable, the rooms are clean, and the location is excellent. I preferred the hotel when they had the Front Porch Cafe down in the lobby, but it moved up the street a bit.

"Dirty, dingy & over priced!"
I should have listened to the reviews I read prior to booking this hotel. Figured it couldn't be that bad & I'm pretty laid back when it comes to things. Figured I would prefer to be closer to my event verses saving some cash staying further away. NOPE I should've listen to the other reviews....they were right on! The staff was nice but the hotel & […] room were disgusting! Nothing says class like money painted on the ceilings, dark grimy halls & room that smell of mold! The bathroom was disgusting, mold & hair everywhere. The bed was just as bad!! It looked like the sheets had not been changed, as there was female hair all over the sheets & pillows. Oh and the walls ARE PAPER THIN!!!! I could hear EVERYTHING!!! Trust me, save your money!! If you are looking to save money stay further away or spend the extra money for a nicer place!! "Bed Bugs!!!!!!!"
I disliked the old, musty smell of this hotel. The foyer contained very old furniture. My room was sparsely furnished. It had no chair, no side table lamp, and no fridge. The worst part was that on the third night I pulled back my top sheet to find a bed bug. I made this discovery at about midnight and had to find another hotel quickly. "Penguin simple but good"
Nice hotel on the main drag. Room was a little small with 2 double beds - and there was no view - but the price was attractive.
This hotel was dismal. I have stayed in a number of these "boutique" hotels in South Beach and this was by far the worst. FIrst, they charged me a resort fee of $15.00-this was not disclosed by hotels.com on the website or in my confirmation. Following are my specific comments:(1) There was only one working electrical outlet in the room. The rest were […] not working(2) There was no lock, NOT EVEN A LATCH, on the bathroom window, which opened to an alleyway and was a serious security risk. The window would not close, inviting anyone to access the room from the alley.(3) Then linens, sheets as well as towels, were threadbare and make the linens at the Days Inn seem like the Four Seasons (4) The water pressure in the shower was inadequate. The TV had only the very basic cable selections and did not include, for example, Fox News. (5) There was no ice maching available and you had to go down to the front desk to obtain ice. "Okay hotel for the price Good location"
I only stayed for one night. We arrived early to the hotel we were told the room would not be ready until 3pm. So we decided to have lunch everything is within walking distance which was the best feature of the hotel. The hotel had a little bit of a moldy smell so did the room but I can say it was cleaned very well so it may just be the building. Overall the staff was nice except for the day we had to check out we asked for our check out time to be extended just for an hour the man at the front desk was not very accomodating. He stated he could only extend it to 45 minutes then changed his mind and said we would have to check out before twelve. I just feel he could have handled that a little better. Ive stayed at other hotels on the beach like the cardoza and not only was my room ready early they offered a late check out from the moment I checked. In end the hotel was ok, your getting what you pay for. Oh also be prepared to have a hold placed on your card for $99 and if,you valet $31. It will take a couple of business days for the hold to be removed. I have had hotels do holds before but never for that amount or for the valet. The rooms and corridor have a funny smell, and the rooms are both worn and very basic. No reading light, extremely noisy AC, shower in my room was half broken, crap breakfast in a different building. "Not A Resort"
No pool, no bar, no restaurant, no spa......but there it was......the "resort charge". Run down building. paint splattered windows. Unresponsive staff. Don't stay here.
"Be careful of hidden fees!"
I prepaid my room in full expecting to just check in and get my key. Boy was I in for a surprise. Although the Location Of The hotel was great, The corridors were dark and gloomy; We were charge a $15 resort fee (other hotels in The Area charged Max $6) and a $50 deposit - For what i still dont know.

Penguin hotel is garbage... the ceilings have a mural of $20 bills! I booked a room with two beds but opened the door to find only one. Typically this would be no big deal and just switch rooms, but the front desk attendant informed me there weren't any double bed rooms left. Located in the heart of south beach, if all you need is a bed, shower and toilet then I'd recommend this hotel. If you're looking for anything more look elsewhere.
"Unpublished resort fee"
Hotel surprised us with an unpublished resort fee upon check-in. Hotel is a little tired, but it has a really good location.
Good location on Ocean Drive as away from the noisy hotels, bars etc. Good value but a little basic/run down. Price you pay for the room doesn't include a daily resort fee - this includes continental breakfast but you have to walk to a 'sister hotel' to get it.
"The Penguin-Location Location"
The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to restaurants and shops. A short walk to everything including the beach. It is a boutique style hotel, but the room was clean, the carpet in the hall leaves something to be desired. However, for the price I received and the location it's worth it.

"Seriously?"
This should be a 1.5 star property. The sliding door to balcony did not lock, entrance door and frame was rusted out, all the tiles were cracked and the floor was dirty. Almost walked out, but it was too late. Location is stellar to SOBE, but spend a bit more - would be worth it!

"get what you pay for"
The hotel was older art deco as most are on ocean blvd, but clean. The bed was broken and sunk in the middle (room 316). Their cable was horrible. I wanted to watch ESPN (college football) and they didn't get any of the major networks ABC, CBS, or ESPN. I had several freinds with me and wanted to watch the game in the lobby. "Penguin Hotel - resort fee for not much"
The hotel is in an excellent location, and the decor is pleasantly funky (though dark except for the lobby). However, my window was covered by a giant plant on the outside, which did not hide completely the fact that you looked right on another building. The $15 resort fee, which i had overlooked is not worth it, especially if you are only staying overnight. "Not for early risers"
The main problem with the Penguin was that there was no coffee maker in the room, nor in the lobby. They offer complimentary continental breakfast at a neighboring hotel, but it doesn't start until 8:00am. This meant I had to go to Starbucks both mornings and buy my own breakfast. My only other comment is that, although the room was fashionably appointed, there was hardly any furniture in it: a bed, one nightstand, a dresser, and a wet bar. Air conditioning in room couldn't compete, was hot and sticky all night. Valet twice brought the wrong car. Very small room and likewise bathroom.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a quick weekend getaway. The location is perfect. Right on 14th Street and Ocean Ave. The bathroom was pretty small. The bedroom was nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable. We had asked for 2 beds in the reservation and only got one bed at arrival. They provided a rollup bed free of cost, but […] it was extremely uncomfortable. Not the best idea. Valet is $30 per day. They charge you a resort fee of $15 per person. It included beach cairs, which was worth it, since the beach chairs at the beach rent for $11 until 5pm. It also included a free drink from 5-7 at the hotel behind them; which to me was worth it since drinks anywhere can range from $7 and up. Breakfast was included for the price. We made it sunday morning, and I was pretty pleased as it included: cereal, bread, pastries, coffee, juice and fruit. The staff was very nice, from the front desk person to the cleaning staff. There was an additional resort fee of $15 per day that was not mentioned at the time of reserving the room. Moreover, their idea of a continental breakfast is toast and butter at 10am along with some pastries if you arrive early enough. The water pressure in the shower is horrible. The front desk is not helpful (i.e. upon asking the front desk for scissors, […] they informed me that the hotel did not have any scissors.) The free water in the room was not replaced and when asking the front desk again for the free (tiny) bottles of water... I was told they did not have any because it should have already been provided by housekeeping, even though they were not. I've stayed here before and actually had a pleasant stay. However, with the new "resort fee" I believe this place is under new management. The location is great, but the staff need a better attitude or training in how to accommodate their guests better. "Pictures are deceiving"
BEWARE!!! This hotel is not as 'glamorous' as the pictures online make it appear. The decor is tacky and the hallways always smell like chemicals and artificial freshner. It was hard to breath at night for this reason. I would not recommend this hotel.
