The hotel is very old but has been kept up to date. The rooms all have a mildew smell and the WIFI is terrible unless you are near the office. The motel also seems to be rented to long term folks because they have Bar-B-Q's outside their rooms. We asked for a roll-a-way but they never brought the bed...and it took forever to get our money back for the […] roll-a-way. Overall....it wasn't all that bad compared to what else was offered in Homestead. Just another place to spend a quick night....at least the lock on the door worked. maintenance is very poor. Our coffee maker did not work. Bathroom exhaust did not work. We informed them after the 1st night, but they did not fix them while we stayed there for 2 more days. We were in Miami for the Boat Show and lost time driving back and forth. We called to cancel the 2nd night for that reason and were charged anyway. It took us more than 30 min to check in because there was a lady having an argument with the staff at the front desk. That was tolerable. What was worse is that, we got a supposedly "non-smoking" room which I double-checked with the front desk, but there was a very heavy smell of smoke on everything in the room.
