Wonderful place very nice room friendly service

Frank the owner could not have been more helpful. It is a long walk to the shops and bars but it is along the seafront. The hotel is great and the room was very clean and bed great.Would highly recommend it

The Hotel Manager was over all expectation when it comes to service and friendliness, and also the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast was sweet.

Okay, let's be honest here, Frank Santana (General Manager) is the pinnacle of hotel management. This man clearly loves his job, loves his guests and he especially loves his life. Who can blame him? His hotel is beautiful and it's located right near the beach! He knows everything there is to know about beautiful Santa Barbara. Ultimate concierge! He […] offered me and my wife and daughter complimentary coupons, maps, brochures, even travel size bottles of moisturizers! His sunny disposition and Hawaiian shirts added to the character of this charming and very clean hotel. The rooms looked like they were on a 'design-on-a-dime' reality show that turned out fabulous. You know the shows where people consult a designer with a $1,000 budget and their rooms become awesome examples of smart design. They obviously spent some money fairly recently to spruce things up and they did a great job. No complaints there. Did I mention how sweet Frank was? Stay there just for him, then you'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms as well. Great location. Beautiful city. The Inn at the East was a great experience. The staff was very nice especially the General Manager. He was extremely nice and hospitable. The continental breakfast was the best! There was so many choices that we did not consider going anywhere for breakfast. It was definitely the right place to stay.

Great little hotel. Lots of private parking. Pool, room and convenience of location were awesome. Front desk Frank was also a bonus. He was very polite and very funny. The continental breakfast was WAY more than basic and we were encouraged to take more than we needed. Overall great place to stay.

The owners are absolutely wonderful. So friendly and very helpful and attentive. The room was big and very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was perfect - even had champagne and orange juice for their guests. Would definitely stay there again the next time we are in Santa Barbara!

My wife and I had a fantastic stay, the room was clean, the personell was awesome, even the maids had a great attitude,my wife is an author, so we needed somewhere where she could enjoy the quiet, Inn at East beach accomplished that and allowed us the privacy we needed with the comfort as well, we will see you soon.

So this was not the upscale establishment across the street but that's the point, it's not that hotel, instead it was quiet, retro-chic, and exceedingly friendly. Plus, the price was right. Overall experience was very, very good.

The location is great. One block from the beach, and across from the Hyatt. BUT, the room we had was really weird. The sink and counter were outside the bath and toilet. Normally fine, but it was around the corner at the foot of the bed. Speaking of the bed, it was old. The carpet also was not really carpet, but more like indoor/outdoor carpeting. Very convenient. The hotel manager (Frank) does more than one would expect to please. The room was large and very comfortable, and included extras such as coffee and a refrigerator. The hotel was way beyond what I expected. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were modern and very comfortable, with a lot of space to move around. This hotel is located very conveniently near the zoo, downtown, and a walking distance to the beach. I would gladly stay here again.

What a nice surprise. Although the outside of this Inn is not very pleasing, my room had everything I could have wanted. The owners certainly put a lot of thought into making the room comfortable and quaint, and they stocked it with more amenities than expensive 5 star hotels. A nicely revamped, but basic motel layout. Fancy new furniture. Clean. Good breakfast. Good location near beach, but a bit far from state street. Save yourself big bucks though, and get the same location by staying at the motel 6 next door. Gave overall 2 stars because of high price. For the same price you could get a very cute b+b.

This is a 60's era motel with rooms opening to an all-concrete patio/pool area. The rooms are very noisy, and the walls very thin. The floors are done with reed mats, and there's no air conditioning. The style is 60's vintage modern. Good continental breakfast. Innkeeper has a quirky personality. Not worth the price you pay.

Conveniently located one block from the Santa Barbara beach, but not close to downtown. Hotel rooms are clean and spacious. Bathrooms are nicely upgraded. No A/C though (just a huge ceiling fan) and still old wall heating which made continuously this "inside airplane" noise and cannot be switched off. Best thing about this hotel was the owner Frankie. He went out of his way to make us feel extremely welcome. We were there on our honeymoon and he upgraded our room to a lovely suite. It was huge, with a fireplace and kitchen. The continental breakfast was great, with the biggest croissants you have ever seen. The hotel manager, Frank, was very entertaining, funny, and hospitable. The hotel is one block off the beach (no rooms with ocean view), but the Hyatt across the street was kind enough to split their building into two parts so that we could have direct access to the beach.

Wonderfully friendly, over the top breakfast...Rooms were dusty, and the walls needed a fresh coat of paint. The heater pilot light was out, froze on night one, but was relit and comfy on night 2. Easy to fix issues (dust better, and paint the room). Other than that, really good value, really friendly service, amazing breakfast offerings

Many of the hotels in Santa Barbara could get quite expensive. The Inn at East Beach makes staying in Santa Barbara much more affordable. While the hotel doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the larger hotels, it is clean and conveniently located. He's always upbeat and interacts with all of his guests. Upon checking in, my wife and I mentioned that it was our anniversary and were upgraded to a suite (Sweet). The hotel also offers a complementary breakfast. I didn't expect much however was surprised at the spread. Coffee, tea, juices, cereals, crescents, toasts, etc., not bad. My Husband & I spent our 29th wedding anniversary here. I had never booked a hotel online before & was very nervous doing so, relying on recent reviews I took a chance. We were so very delighted by this hotel! When we pulled up we were greeted by Frank who is one of the nicest & kindest guys I have ever met. He gave us so much info about the best places […] to eat the discounts available, he was amazing! The room was very clean modern & had anything you would need to enjoy your stay. The King size bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The Bathroom was clean, the shower had a great flow, & there was plenty of ventilation! The Continental breakfast in the morning was Glorious! The best Bagel I have ever had! with an assortment of pastries, fruit, coffee, tea. The guy who greated me was great. He told me he had worked there for years. Very friendly and informative. Gave us secure parking for our motorcycles which was very nice. I travel globally over 40 weeks per year for a living so I am kind of picky. The lobby and exterior of the hotel was quant and well maintained. The room was a bit dated and in need […] of new carpet and redo in the bathroom. Reminded me more of a "Best Western" than a Hilton or Marriott in room quality. It was fine for a night but not much more than that. Generally speaking it was clean. Just seemed dated. The breakfast buffet in the morning is great. Reminded me of a B&B atmoshpere. Again the friendly desk manager is very pleasant and gives a very jovial good morning hello to all the guests. The hotel is located within walking distance of the pier and downtown. We are a family that travels...so we stay in many resorts and hotels. This was a great little motel-reminded me of a very simple Parker Hotel in Palm Springs. Kind of retro! We had a very nice stay at the Inn at East Beach. The hotel managers were very accomodating and it was kinda nice to have that personal touch on things. Fireplace was wonderful, beach was nearby. Great location!

Close enough to the beach, State Street, the Zoo and Stearns Wharf, yet far enough from the hustle and bustle that it was a treat! Frank was a very gracious host as well! Nice continental breakfast and overall, a nice place to stay.

Great location & safe neighborhood. Frank, the Hotel Manager, was very personable, friendly, helpful, and always made us feel at home. He always asked how we were & to let him know if we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again. P.S. The Continental Breakfast is very good with lots of choices.

When you walk out of your room you can see the ocean. This hotel is within a 25 cent shuttle distance of the pier (delicious ice cream) and tons of beach fun. The hotel manager is overly hospitable. Very kind and generous. Don't waste your time on overpriced hotels. This one is great!

A perfect hotel if your goal is to enjoy the beach. It is located within easy walking distance to the beach. Great breakfast.. We told them where we were going to eat and they gave us special cards for a free dessert, appetizer, etc. Very friendly.
