Pros: -Great location in a fun area! -Elevators work well with short wait-even to 44th floor. -Hotel/rooms are in good condition-even good size for downtown NY. When I called concierge to […] request they get me a taxi, they said just come downstairs and they would help me. I asked if there would be much of a wait (anticipating problems) and they said no. When I came downstairs the doorman was not available to help. When he finally was available to help, it took a long time to find a taxi-exactly what I had predicted in the first place. Location is great. Room was HOT. Too hot to sleep w/ comforter. Even though it was 40 degrees outside and we had the AC on high - it was still uncomfortable. Opened the window (which is really more of cracking the window at the bottom) and it didn't even help to cool it off. Bed is okay - not great. Pillows aren't terribly comfortable either. Location is ideal for mid town New York. Downside Safe didn't work, no control on room temperature. WiFi costs (not cheap) phone reception not good in the room. Business centre expensive to use and go online as well as printing.

The hotel was in the perfect location. Everything was so close: TImes Square, The Rock, Shopping, Broadway shows- you name it, you got it. It was also really convenient to subway lines and Penn Station (maybe a 10-15 minute walk or 6$ cab ride). The hotel itself was pretty nice and had great views!

The only thing I have to complain about is the lack of free Wi-Fi in the rooms. At the price we're paying there should be no charge like there is for that service. All other hotels I have stayed in recently do allow it. On the plus side of comments I simply must rave about the beds!!! Bar none, it was the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept […] on! Being a former resident of NYC, I hate going back because I now have to stay in a hotel! The NYC hotels are small, unfriendly, expensive and hit and miss as far as how nice they are! There are so many hotels to choose from when going to NYC, it's overwhelming! I randomly choose the Cowne Plaza-the 4 star rating and photos helped! We had such a wonderful […] stay! We were upgraded to a suite! There were comfy robes and slippers waiting for us! A mini Kureig in the room! The bed was very comfortable! It was clean too!! The front deal staff was very gracious-not usually the case in NY hotels!! There is parking at the hotel, very convienient! The bell hops are quick and redili available! It's a time square tourist trap area, but set north of times square it's not as crazy and it was quiet! Perfect place to stay for a night out on Brpadway seeing a show! Will stay again!! Our last stay at the Crowne was perfect. This time, they put us in the older section. The doors were heavy and slammed at all hours of the day and night. The tub didn't drain well and needed to be re-finished. The service was great, but I would have prefered the newer side of the hotel.

-Well located in Midtown- convenient to Time Sqaure, Central Park, Broadway, shopping, restaurants etc... -Physical accommodation are well maintained, sufficiently spacious, appear newly renovated, room was in great condition and very clean. I Travel to NY once a month sometime on business sometime on leisure - this hotel is appropriate for both. - […] Convenient amenities- one site restaurants, NY Sports club reciprocation (location in hotel building), multple entrances (including a broadway entrance) and loading area. Location in times square can't be beat, good value. Concierge was helpful and recommended two great nontourist restaurants for us. Busy hotel, but didn't hear any noise while sleeping.

We stayed here primarily for location. I was visiting NYC for only 24 hours with a friend who was in the city for the first time, so I wanted our "home base" to be close to the theatres (as we were planning to take in a Broadway show that evening). This hotel was EXCELLENT for those purposes. Location location location! is the mantra that comes to mind. […] Broadway and 49th Street puts you in the midst of it all, but at a steep price. Lovely hotel, clean and in an excellant location, friendly helpful staff, lovely bar. No sleep package in room tho as stated, no mini bar and the concierge lounge didnt open in the afternoons but overall a fab hotel, altho a little expensive..

Pleasantly surprised at the large room size and cleanliness of this hotel. One front desk clerk and the hostess for the restaurant were a bit aloof and snooty (very!) but 90% of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional! I was looking to stay right in Time Square and this hotel fit the bill perfect, it had a great view of all the activity. The bright lights weren't even a problem when trying to sleep. We were in walking distance of all sorts of great places. The only issue I had was with the concierge, he claimed he couldn't find us a reservation at a restaurant for […] the type of food we were looking for, and we ended up literally walking less than a block and were able to walk right into the exact kind of restaurant we wanted. My only complaint is the lack of free wi-fi service. A $10 fee for 4 hours of consecutive internet service seems ridiculous.

This hotel is a two minute walk from Radio City and a three minute walk to the Theatre District. The hotel is a relatively calm spot in the middle of a 24 hour a day busy, crowded, noisy neighborhood. The higher up you are, the less likely you are to hear street noise (including at night.) We had a corner room (clever architecture provides more than just four such rooms) and great views. All aspects of the stay were terrific.

We were expecting the rooms to be small but they weren't, there was plenty of space. Location was perfect for doing tourist things around Times Square and all the Broadway shows are right there as well. We would definitely stay there again.

This was our 4th weekend trip to New York in 4 years. We have always stayed at the Crowne Plaza Times Square. It is very conveniently located. You can step out the door into the immediate high energy of Times Square. You can step into the hotel for some peace and quiet if you need it. Great experience, very convenient, and very well kept.

I took my daughter here for her 10th birthday present. She absolutely loved it. It was close to everything in NYC. The staff was excellent! They were very attentive to detail (noting that it was my daughter's birthday and sending her a snack to the room) and very guest -oriented. The beds were comfortable. My only (small) complaint was that the bathtub […] was in need of upgrading as the enamel was chipped and the drain was broken. When we checked in and out there was only one employee at the front desk. Eventually a second employee came out, but not until after a few minutes wait. The concierge Amy was horrible at her job. We asked her for a trendy NY-style place to go for dinner on Saturday. She lectured us on how we would never be able to get in anywhere on a Saturday night. […] I asked her about a specific restaurant in SoHo and she told us good luck getting into any place in SoHo. We really only wanted a recommendation, but she was not interested in helping us. We ended up going down to the restaurant in SoHo that I had heard about. There was no line. It was amazing. A work colleague and I just stayed at the Crowne Plaza Times Square in early June 2011 and were very pleased with the ovrall experience. We regularly stay in the city at other hotels, but due to a U.N. session this past week, hotel rooms were very scarce. We were luckily able to find 2 rooms at the Crowne Plaza and crossed our fingers not really knowing […] what to expect. The hotel had been very nicely renovated and despite being very full, the lobby and lounges felt spacious. There was no line at check in and we had our keys in just a few minutes. The concierge was very helpful with a nice recommendation and got us a reservation nearby for a manicure/pedicure. Everything was very easy. Our rooms on the 44th and 45th floors were very modern, comfortable and clean. Good lighting in the bathroom,a robe, hair dryer, ironing board, free bottled water, great toiletries, everything you'd expect was in place and in working order. Free internet service with a very simple login had me working remotely in just a minute. While I was out for dinner, the staff provided turndown service. The bed was really comfortable and I slept like a rock. We valet parked our car at the hotel and were pleased that it was returned within a few minutes the next morning and the cost was more reasonable than our usual hotel parking experiences. Everyone across the board at the hotel delivered service with a smile. The only somewhat disappointing thing (minor) was that our concierge level rooms included free breakfast vouchers, yet they didn't have any at the front desk when we checked in and said not to worry, they would be sent to our rooms. Neither one of us ever saw those arrive. We ended up just doing the grab and go on the way out and didn't make a fuss since we were running late the next morning. The grab and go was very convenient with nice service but the bagel I had was one of the worst NY bagels I have ever eaten. we enjoyed the stay, the Priority Club service desk was not operational and the carpets were tattered and dirty. I was not impressed with the elevator system. The location was excellent, Overall we enjoyed our stay, I would return pending the carpet upgrades

We paid extra for a view of times square. What they did not say is that it was next to the service elevators. When we complained they just gave us breakfast and some points which have yet to show up on my account. The noise from the elevators woke us up in the morning and just continued all day. super room, super food, super location, super fun, super holiday

I got in early after a red-eye, the place was packed but they checked me in and got me going. Fantastic location and huge rooms for New York.

I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza several times. It is a great facility and always in wonderful condition. The location is as good as it gets for New York City. The breakfast is very expensive but everything else about the hotel is wonderful.

Although this hotel is well located in the heart of Times Square we were not impressed by the attitude of the front desk staff who were not friendly nor helpful. The room itself was small for 3 people. Despite having booked a room with 2 beds we were allocated a room with one bed with a roll on bed which was not available until requested by us in the […] afternoon/evening. The layout of the lobby itself does not make for a relaxed atmosphere with a confined passageway from the lift area to the front desk making it difficult to manoeuvre large suitcases. 5 Night stay in this hotel was perfect .We had a corner King room on the 28th floor. We had someone from security break into our room at 5 am waking everyone up saying that we were given a wake up call and did not respond. Unfortunately not only did we not ask for a wake up call our phone never rang, they were completely confused and we could not get back to bed.
