This resort is excellent value for money - rooms are spacious enough and clean (although they have not been refurbished for quite a few years). Swimming pools are also ok, our babies (2 and 4 y.o.) enjoyed them most of the day.

Unlike most airport hotels, this Intercontinental is within an easy walk of nice restaurants and a major shopping center. Parking is convenient without need for valet service. In fact, seeing how valet drivers speed through garage would make one hestitate to use this service. Housekeeping is the most inconsistent I have experienced. The hotel is conveniently close to Tampa Airport. In addition to the mall across the street, the hotel has plenty of other accommodations nearby including the International Plaza within five miles of the hotel. Great bar and restaurant inside of the InterContinental and an extremely professional staff.

"Exceptional value"
Very nice hotel, close to the airport with shuttle service, remember to call the shuttle to pick you up. We needed a crib for our baby, the hote; provided at no extra charge.

I have worked for Hilton and had the pleasure to stay in many hotels. The Intercontinental Tampa is a great locale, for shopping, dining, entertainment all within a short walk. The airport is close by and so is the freeway to the beaches, etc. Walgreens less than a block away for drugstore convenience 24 hours. The Breakfast is a great value at Don […] Shula's Steakhouse in morning, but the hotel as a hole could use a remodeling update for design, comfort, and to maintain a contemporary feel. When attempting to turn on shower the handle came right out of wall, no water no shower. Purchased room with breakfast, upon check-in no coupon provided they said just order breakfast and use room number. No mention made of restrictions or dollar value. I owed $8.00 for free breakfast. Less than stellar stay.

For a 4 star hotel, the pool is not the best that we had expected. It is too samall and the location is not good. The drinks in the bar area is extremely expensive. Overall the hotel is good!

Although I purchased this hotel through hotels.com, I was required to give a credit card that was run for 2 different holds for incidentals. Then, my credit card was charged for a one night hotel stay, a bottle of figi water, and I had to dispute another bill slipped under my door for alcohol I never consumed. I wasn't expecting very much from this hotel considering I had never heard of the chain before, however much to my surprise I was greeted with polite valet service or the option to self-park. My luggage was taken from the car and delivered to my room upon arrival. The room was up-to date, and both comfortably and functionally decorated. "Top notch hotel"
We just stayed here for the first time, and we were so impressed. The bed couldn't be more comfortable. The staff was happy to assist with anything we asked of them. It reminded me of a Ritz Carlton, but for a fraction of the price.

Parking was available at the hotel, this is often an issue. The room was comfortable, roomy and business traveler friendly The location of the hotel was perfect for shopping, dining and drinks in the lobby.

My only regret was that we didn’t check in sooner. Positive remarks: SUPER convenient to the Airport and expressways. Great mall across the street. Modern, updated clean decor. Cheaper than Major name hotels in area. Responsive to service requests. Caveats: Self parking is free, (a plus considering many hotels charge for parking) but it was a hassle to use, especially since the valet takes up ALL the […] good spaces near the elevators on EVERY FLOOR and you always have a long hike!! Valet is $18! I had to valet at night being a female traveling alone. With valet charge, total bill still cheaper than the Marriott. Half of the building is office space, and really close, so if you have a room that faces into the all-glass dark "courtyard" keep your drapes CLOSED at all times! The elevators are on the same side of the "courtyard view", so if they insist on putting you on that side, get a room at least 6 rooms away from the elevator. My first night I was 5 rooms away and that thing resonated LOUDLY through my pillow while trying to sleep!! The next day they were very nice about changing my room to another floor, further down the hall and it was fine. It seems like a lot of conventions get booked there, so be prepared for NOISY groups.
