Everything about this hotel was first class. We were in a corner room with windows that opened to two streets. The hotel is walking distance to the Vatican. The breakfast was lso good and service was excellent. The only thing we missed were wash cloths that are not always in European hotels. There were 7 in our group and it would have been helpful if […] we had all been on the same floor but we made our reservations individually and it did geive us the opportunity see 4 different floors and 4 different rooms. The only good thing about this hotel was location. However, it was a 4* hotel. Very poorly maintained. Staff wasn’t polite sometime, which surprised us very much. The breakfast was very poor. Just to understand, the plates were not clean. Too much money to pay just for a location. Moreover, I held even worst because we had a couple of friends with us […] and their daughter for holidays. Their room and the top neighbours was a real disaster. Staff did not take any action as to contact the neighbours and to ask them to “keep silence” at night. VERY comfortable property with an EASY 10 minute walk to St. Peter's. Nice neighborhood so no worries there. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially in getting a taxi for us for the ride to the airport. In morning traffic, 30 minute drive. Minutes from a number of outdoor eating choices. StarHotels MichelAngelo is one of the best I can recommend if you want to be close to St Peter's square. Also just 5-10 minutes walk to the stores, restaurants, shopping for souveneirs, attractions, etc. Hotels free breakfast are very good. The hotel offers free shuttle departure to airport. no customer service. I was laughed at when I asked if the hotel was open between the early am hours. "yes, Why wouldn't it" I was told. The night manager quoted one price for a taxi to the airport and in the a.m. I was given a lower quote by a.m. manager. Don't trust their advice. and didn't feel they welcomed questions. Location was good.

The hotel was great, it was perfect for visiting the Vaticain and St. Peter's square, only a short 2 block walk. The only drawback was its on a one way street and if your not familiar with area it is hard to get to. But it is well worth this driving exercise to stay here.

Absolutely GREAT breakfasts--very filling. Rooms are a bit spartan, but clean and comfortable, including the beds. Several good restaurants in the area, and 5-10 minutes' walk to St. Peter's Basilica. Get a transit pass and use the metro to get to and from the main Rome sights across the river.

Decent hotel a a good location close to the metro station. The hotel advertised free internet but failed to mention it is in the lobby only (sign at the desk says in room) and only for 30 minutes a day and only if you ask for it. Shower head in odd location so if you are tall its a challenge but ok.

It is close to Vatican, about 15 min walk to the closest Metro, . We did not use the bus, but if we did, it would be a very convenient location. Most of the tourist attractions are in the city center, and although within walking distance, one has to learn about bus routes to make the most of it. Overall, the heart of Roma is not large, and within walking […] range from most places. The hotel is great, staff very cordial, and the breakfast buffet is nice. You will love it the first day, and gradually seems OK as you spend more time in this hotel. The service is first class. One of the benefits of liveing in this hoel is that you can visit the St Peter Basilica every evening, before it closes, on your way back to the hotel. there are quite a few good eataries within two minutes of walking distance. The hotel is a four star hotel by North American standards and reasonably priced. Room was clean and adequately furnished. Staff were helpful and courteous. Most importantly, it is an excellent location if one is touring the Vatican.

The location was just right as I could see the Vatican from my balcony view. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was one of the better ones that I have had while traveling through Europe. Highly recommend!

I am a regular traveller to Rome for vacations. I have stayed in many different hotels, but Starhotel Michelangelo is a gem. Its a relatively modern purpose built hotel having all the comfort and facilities that you want, but best of all is the location. Its a quiet residential street with leafy trees on both sides but only 7 minutes walk to St Peter's […] Square. Walk directly out of the hotel main entrance into the street, look to your left, and the entire end of the street is dominated by the massive dome of St Peter's. Beautiful & overwhelming. We attended the papal audience on Wednesday, walked at our leisure to St Peters and got front row seats. The service in the hotel was very professional. Staff were warm and friendly and all speak perfect english. The room was bright , modern and fresh. Bathroom was meticulously clean. The breakfast was excellent - all that you could ask for. It is served between 6.30 am and 10.30 am, which means you can get a good lie in if you want. I cant fault this hotel. I will certainly be back. Lovely hotel-clean, first class. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Could see the Dome of St. Peter's Basilica from the front door of the hotel. Hotel lacked an iron and iron board. Had to pay 11 Euros per day for internet connection. Hotel tax was added on, even though we booked through Hotels.com. We thought all fees were included. I went to Rome Italy with my sister and nephew April 2011 qnd spent 3 nights at this hotel. When we arrived the receptionist was very hospitable and showed took all the details that were required from us. He quickly gave us the key to our room on the first floor room 117. Upon entering the room, we were not happy at all. The walls and carpet were dirty […] and the bed that my nephew was supposed to sleep on looked like one of the hospital beds. But most of all there was noise coming from outside - cars. We called reception to complain especially about the noise. The reception quickly sent the porter to find us onother room on the 3rd floor. This one was still like the fisrt floor, but was more quiter. So we moved our luggage. The floowing morning when we woke up, my sister spotted a large stain on the Duvet inner that looked like blood. We called one of the housekeepers qnd showed her. Immediately the head housekeeper came and apologized about it and told us that she was goiing to take care of it. We then realized that the rerigerator was not cool enough. My sister had brought her medication that needed to be refrigarated. We called reception agin to tell them about it and asked if we could be moved to another room. Without any hassle, she asked the porter help us look for another room. This time we went to the 2nd floor. This room was much better. It was clean, no carpet but wooden floors. But still the refrigerator was not cold enough. The head housekeeper promised that she was oing to et us another one. And surely when we got back at niht, we found that it was changed. Overall, I would rcommend the hotel for its proximity to the Vatican city and the excellent reception from the employees. But cleanliness?? Przeczytaj więcej

This hotel is very well situated for a visit to the Vatican. The room is plain but adequate in amenities and size. The breakfast is varied but not of high quality. The front desk lives down to it's reputation as unfriendly and unhelpful.

The Hotel was great, friendly, clean and good breakfast. The location was good for the Vatican and St Peters square. However the amenties beside the hotel, particularly restaurants were not great. Over the river is the Shopping, nightlife etc, but as with all of Rome it is walkable! Very good hotel, I was very happy with my stay !!!

We stayed in a double room across the street from the main building, but our bed was very comfortable. The front office staff was very friendly in helping arrange cabs, giving directions, etc. They had a nice tea/coffee service every afternoon from 1530 - 1800 that we enjoyed. Good location to see Salzburg.

The selection of food at breakfast at the Michelangelo is excellent. The staff and service are friendly and solicitous. Overall, our second stay at the hotel in four years was once again a very pleasant experience.

We were very pleased with this hotel. The service, condition of the hotel, location, the breakfast were excellent. We would certainly stay there again. It was a five star experience.

Our rooms were ready without a hassle at 10:30 in the morning, even though check in time was listed as much later. Quaint smaller older European hotel, walking distance to the Vatican with several restaurants nearby. Staff spoke English well, and even arranged transport to the port at a very reasonable price. We stayed in this hotel for 4 days over Christmas. The rooms are a good size and clean but slightly worn, not very upscale and the front desk staff was not responsive to requests for restaurant recommendations, directions, etc. However the location was great, particularly over Christmas.

This hotel was in a great location for exploring Rome. Staff was extremely attentive. Breakfast was included and outstanding compared to what you expect in USA. The room was excellent, and the bar was a nice cozy place to relax after a day of sightseeing.

Great hotel and a nice neighborhood. Stores, restaurants, and pubs within a block or two. Very popular with tour groups so you will see lots of guests come and go. Breakfast is wonderful. Eggs, bacon, juice, cereals, fresh fruit, fruit trays, ham, cheese, breads, coffee, tea, etc. This was our main meal of the day. Bus 64 stops about two blocks away […] and offers easy transportation into the city center and the train station. The hotel offers wireless but it is provided by a third party for 10Euros an hour or 17Euros a day. Not worth it. Some restaurants and pubs within two blocks offer free WiFi and I did my email while eating and drinking coffee. The hotel lists wireless for a fee... The staff is very helpful and arranged a reservation for the Borghese Museum without charging for the service. Overall I would easily recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome. Of all the hotels we've stayed around St, Peter's, we really loved this hotel. Not only is it close to St. Peter's, but its very close to major bus stops. The service was great and the breakfast was beautiful and quite substantial. We will definitely return to this location.

Cons: - air conditioner did not work - sliding door did not lock - mold and water damage on the ceiling - when you sat on the toilet your legs were under the sink. - maid did not clean the toilet - only replaced the towels - when we arrived in our taxi nobody came out to help with the bags - mattress was so hard it was like sleeping on a piece of plywood Pros: - […] Great breakfast Przeczytaj więcej

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable although the shower configuration allowed water to flow onto the bathroom floor. Good location, just a 5 minute walk to the Vatican.

No question we would stay in that hotel again. A couple of blocks from the Vatican and St. Peter's Square. Bus stop a block away to all turist atractions in the city. Breakfast was always good and abundant. Super market nearby. La Vittoria restaurant one block away was excellent.

Having stayed in Rome several times before I wanted something closer to the Vatican as this visit was to include both the Vatican & Scavi tours. The Starhotels Michelangelo was the perfect location for our needs.

We were extremely pleased with the StarHotels Michelangelo. The room was well appointed and the bed very comfortable. They also served a wonderful buffet breakfast which was included in the cost of the room. We were able to walk everywhere from this hotel.

The people at the front desk were very helpful. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Otherwise, the room itself and the hotel were showing signs of wear. They had a huge buffet-style breakfast and it was pretty picked through when we got there halfway through the time frame it was offered. Dirty plates and pretty bad service there. Very […] close to the Vatican if that's what you're interested in seeing, but not a very exciting neighborhood in the immediate area around the hotel. Hotel was clean and comvenient to surrounding attractions. Staff was very helpful. Beds were not very comfortable. The sunk in the middle.
